  1. Already checked not much different than 2015. Also, warm weather drives Water Park attendance, which SF has more WP's than CF. Per in park patron spending down for SF, up for CF. The 2 parks in OT and GA, not regions CF is in would not account for the level of decrease in revenue The more you research the weather excuse doesn't hold water.
  2. Revenue fell 3% to $557.6 million. Analysts had projected a profit of $1.65 a share on $586.4 million in revenue, according to Thomson Reuters. http://www4.toledoblade.com/Retail/2016/11/02/Cedar-Fair-reports-175-million-quarterly-profit-record-revenues.html SANDUSKY — Cedar Fair said today it set a new revenue record on its way to a $175 million profit in the year’s third quarter. The company also announced a 4 percent increase in its quarterly dividend. The company, which operates Cedar Point and a string of amusement and water parks across the country, said third quarter revenues were up about 1 percent to $650 million. The $175 million profit translates to $3.10 a share. In 2015, Cedar Fair earned $164 million or $2.92 a share Is SF loss in revenue really all about weather or mix of a possible warning signs of underlying problems? CF was able to do well in attendance in the same quarter and operate in most of the same regions. The places SF is that are different are in the south, TX, GA, etc.. which I don't recall having significant weather issues this summer.
  3. I'm sorry, I just have to vent for a second. This has got to be one of the most idiotic statements I have ever heard about bigger parks, most especially Cedar Point. Have YOU actually walked around Cedar Point? Do you have any idea what you're talking about? There is so much space EVERYWHERE!!! The peninsula at Cedar Point is HUGE. It's gotta be the biggest amount of land of any park in the world, maybe minus Epcot. I'm a pretty fit guy and it is EXHAUSTING to walk around the park if you want to get from one end of the park to the other. My home park is Magic Mountain, and that can be tiring, but Cedar Point beats it hands down. If Cedar Point wants to they could probably build another 4-6 major coasters without taking any other major roller coaster out. Look at the google maps. Then look at a park like Grona Lund and see how they've put coaster on top of coaster, and then try to convince me Cedar Point has little space. Your post has no validation whatsoever. OMG. CF in their own annual reports there is no new land available for development at CP. The only way to add is to remove things. I guess you're blind or not bright to notice that's exactly what they are doing. How are they expanding the water park and Breakers? Tearing things out! Bye Bye Challenge Park for example. They also have used huge amounts of land for hotels, the cabins, etc... These lodging things are great ROI over actual rides and will not be removed. In fact, they keep expanding the lodging b/c it's such a good ROI. Btw, the dumbest logic ever is b/c you get tired, can't be as fit as you claim, walking the park, means there is land for expansion. Also, no US park would ever created the "ball of yarn" of rides of Grona Lund. US parks view compacting stuff like that has an accident waiting to happen.ie...objects falling from riders and the inevitable lawsuit It also looks like garbage and is poor park design done out of desperation.
  4. Is it going to be next to Harley & Joker? If so, I didn't see too much construction when I was there last weekend. JL is going in Movietown, Joker and Harley are in Lakefront.
  5. If you remove things of course you have space. They have little space to just add.
  6. The most annoying thing IMO, is failure to fill seats on coasters with 4 across seating, especially win their is a pretty good line. You will see often multiple rows of 2 of 4 seats empty and occasionally 3 of 4 empty. When I'm in the line for my row on a coaster I look to see where I can fill in seats. I will just ask people to skip ahead if I see a potential empty seat(s). Very few rides, especially at SF, have operators looking to fill seats. I look for how people are grouped with their party to find spots. This results in a lot of saved time and thus extra rides over the course of a day. Also, moves the line along for others waiting.
  7. Six Flags Posts Surprise Decline in Revenue, Hurt by Adverse Weather http://www.wsj.com/articles/six-flags-posts-surprise-decline-in-revenue-hurt-by-adverse-weather-1477485031
  8. I grew up in Cleveland, and Cedar Point was my home park. The park USED TO BE GREAT. Cedar Point is much cleaner than Magic Mountain. For me these are my favorite parks: 1, Magic Mountain 2, Great Adventure 3, Hershey Park 4, Kings Island 5, Kings Dominion 6, Cedar Point It's hard to take this post seriously. CP is a way ahead of KD, GAdv, KI, MM....CP top 5 and top 10 coasters is not even close to being matched.
  9. CP by far....6 steel coasters ranked in the top 50 worldwide 1)Millenium Force 2)Maverick 3)Magnum Xl 4) TTD 5)Gatekeeper 6)Raptor Then you have the tallest dive in Valravn, good floorless in Rougarou, top 50 world wide woody in Blue Streak. RMC Mean Streak coming, which will hopefully be top 5 in the park. That top 10 listed for CP is not comparable to any other parks top 10 or even 5 IMO.
  10. Skyride Ridership 2013 - 1,420,391 2014 - 1,187,155 2015 - ???
  11. Mean Streak Track - a lot more track showed up...skip to 30 seconds in
