  1. Glad to hear the trimming doesn't make much of a difference on the rest of the ride. Let's hope that the 5pm closing helps them sort this all out. Speaking of which, does anyone know what the status of certification is? I heard that only two trains are certified and the other is used for parts, can anyone confirm this?
  2. The same guy that posted the video I was referring to also posted this: If the ride ops are telling people this, that's a good sign!
  3. Just saw a video on Instagram of Steel Vengeance's Mid Course this morning. It's trimming trains HARD. Obviously it's difficult to tell how much airtime you'll get from an off ride video, but it doesn't look like you get any airtime on the drop off the Mid Course. I hope this isn't permanent, if it is then there you'll have to specify if you rode SV "before trim" or "after trim" If you want to see the video for youself, it's on @cp.ki.obsession's story on instagram.
  4. You should be able to do it all multiple times. Even enough time to hit Wildebeest and Mammoth. Sundays are very managable at Holiday World. Thanks! There's a little rain in the forecast that morning but it seems to stop when the park opens. Looking forward to it, I'll post a trip report here after
  5. And miss Holiwood Nights by one day!? Do yourself a favor, re-arrange your trip I'm not in any Coaster Clubs, so I wouldn't be able to get in anyways. I'm not too big a fan of night rides anyways, I prefer to know where I'm going
  6. Thanks. I'm used to the crowds that Six Flags Great America gets, so I'm sure it won't be an issue. How long would you expect the average line to be? I'm used to waiting in 50+ minute lines, so I'll manage if the lines are long, I'm just wondering what to expect.
  7. I'm looking at a road trip that includes Holiday World next Sunday (6/3). I'm not too familiar with how crowded this place gets, do you guys think I would be able to ride each coaster multiple times?
  8. Yep, that's exactly what I'm waiting for to book my trip as well. I can only go once a year so FLP is worth it. I'd love to be able to ride Steel Vengeance today, but I'm willing to wait a few weeks if it means that I can ride it many more times and spend less hours in line.
  9. Agreed with El Toro Ryan. I guess the question is: would you rather have a 30 second longer ride cycle, due to stacking with three trains, or a 30 minute longer line due to limited dispatches because they are running 2 trains? Of course those numbers are just estimates, but I would rather spend an extra couple of seconds on the brake run than many dozen extra minutes in line.
  10. I think the fact that Cedar Point advertises this ride to run three trains is enough to prove that the brake run is long enough to hold them. As ZeroGravity said, the train can comfortably stop on the final brake run, therefore there are two blocks before the station. If this was not true, and a train would have to stop on the Mid Course every time there was a slow dispatch, I think it's fair to say that they wouldn't run three trains. Running three trains but sacrificing the intensity of the 2nd half of the ride for a fair bit of it's riders doesn't sound like something Cedar Point would do.
  11. I think it's pretty awesome that Steel Vengeance's line has stayed consistently between 1-2 hours with only one train, even on weekends. It just hypes me up for when they will be running all three trains! I hope they solve the issue quickly, I've been delaying my trip until they can reliably run the ride with more than one train & until Steel Vengeance is added back to FLP.
  12. ^ Good idea Once while riding Raging Bull at Great America, someone in my row actually had their shirt fly up, luckily it didn't leave the train, but it covered the guy's face the whole ride, it was hilarious to watch! His face was covered even in the on ride photo. I'd imagine something similar would happen on SV.
  13. Congrats! What sort of questions were asked? Do you think the average guest would be able to answer them?
  14. From a user on Reddit: I also found a POV (would link it here but not sure what the policy is on illegal videos) in which while entering the station, the train comes to a hard halt. Looks like they're having some problems with the station system.
  15. I'm fine booking the week before or week of, as weather is the main determiner. Don't want to risk driving 6 hours each way and getting rained out. That being said, if the weather is fine on both days, then I can choose which one is better. Part of me wants to go this month just because it's sooner, and I've been there before so night rides really aren't a big deal to me, although they would be neat. Thanks for the input.
  16. I have two possible dates to head to Cedar Point, am looking for some input. First option: May 29-30 (Tu-Wed) Pros: Will be able to get FLP both days as it's the lowest tier Cons: Only open until 8 (no night rides), might be understaffed Second option: June 7-8 (Thu-Fri) Pros: Operations will be in full swing by then, on Friday the park is open until 10, so night rides. Cons: Will only be able to get FLP on Friday, and crowds will be larger Any input? I'm sure I'll have a great time regardless.
  17. ^ That still is a valid point though. How come this issue wasn't discovered in the dozens of hours of testing? During the first rider event? During the hoedowns?
  18. Employees told me it isn't certified yet mostly due to bad weather. I kind of selfishly hope that the MCBR never works because if the train is slowed down the back half won't be as good. Thanks. Also by the MCBR "not working" I mean that the block section doesn't work, not the actual brakes. I HIGHLY doubt that the brakes will kick in at all.
  19. I'm curious, why is Steel Vengeance only able to run two trains currently? Of course, after the collision it is only running one, but even before the collision, and during the first rider event and hoedowns, it has only ever ran two trains. Some people have said the third train isn't certified, some people have said the coaster isn't certified to run three trains, some people have said the MCBR doesn't work so there's no point in having three trains. Do we know the actual reason? Whatever it is, I hope they are able to fix it this week.
  20. All boarding passes have been distributed for today. No one else can get a boarding pass to ride SV.
  21. Take a look at this picture, it looks like the train was pushed up a full row or two, it's clearly not in line with the loading gates. Hope no one was hurt.
  22. Resort entrance is the way to go. Just make sure you get there early, I got there 20 minutes before opening when I went and it still had a long line.
  23. I recall watching a video in which the park confirmed Steel Vengeance would record video, any word on how that works? Here's the Video: (6:34)
  24. This is currently being built in the Frontiertown Museum. The builder is on reddit and has confirmed that this will be operational when it is finished.
