  1. At this point, it's hard to imagine even a mid-tier Cedar Fair getting a B&M. Sadly, I could never see a B&M coming to MiA. However, I can see them getting a coaster from Premier Rides or Chance Morgan.
  2. Yes, but they were all new and not used. But, I agree that four coasters in one year would be too much for a park the size of Michigan's Adventure. I could see this happening over a time period of a few years. It would be hard and expensive for such a small park like Michigan's Adventure to buy and maintain 4 new coasters in a year. I would say that only 2 coasters in a year would be enough
  3. Do you guys know if the souvenir cups at CGA and other cedar fair parks can be used at all the cedar fair parks
  4. Without a doubt Knott's. Better fireworks. Better atmosphere. More activities during day for families. Definitely Knott's. Though Six Flags is also pretty crowded, knotts has lots of 4th of July events bringing in more people.
  5. Maybe they simply don't want one. Their attendance certainly isn't calling for it. Moves like a re invigorated Ghost Town and family attractions seem to be more successful at this park. At least so far they've made a conscious choice to leave the big coasters to SFMM, and it's worked for them. I think your absolutely right. In the future I could really see them trying to become more of a family park. Better flat rides, better theming, more dark rides. Disney is so expensive these days, if Knotts added more family/dark rides, they could take all the people that can't afford Disney. I really like the direction their headed, and I think we will see them adding a lot more family coasters and dark ride. As much as I would like to see a hyper like Mako @ SWO, I don't think that its ever going to happen. It will only happen if they expand south into the parking lot. Otherwise where would the station go? Like I said, space will never be an issue. They will find a way if they really want it. The question is if they really want it. Knott's has plenty of space available. The only problem is that most of the land on Knott's that sits on prime real estate is very small and the parking lot and Ghost town takes up the space

  7. Definitely ride Gold Striker first. The line is usually long and it's good to get on it first. Flight Deck is a walk on earlier in the day but later on the line gets long. If you want to ride Vortex, ride in the one of the first 3 rows. Any other row is BRUTAL And one more thing, Grizzly isn't it that bad as people say it is so check it out if you want
  8. I don't care what she looks like. Is she fun the ride? That's a question of taste RMCs are beautiful. No. Matter. What. I don't think you got it and your age isn't displayed so to be careful I'll just leave it as "agreed!" I'm 24 not your little 12 year old boy on the forums I'm a coaster enthusiastic and YES I understand it so don't underestimate me Better safe than sorry. My mistake. Apology accepted

  10. Kinda wish CP had never bought the Paramount parks. If they hadn't back in the day, Worlds of Fun would've been the 3rd biggest park in the chain attendance wise. That's why they used to get a new roller coaster every 2-3 years and now they get them every ten. I really can't complain though, as I would argue WOF gets treated better than almost all the other small parks, and next year the park will be receiving (at bare minimum) 2 flat rides and a new front gate. Probably a dark ride alongside those. As for Michigan's Adventure, I feel your pain. It's sad when you park gets nothing over a long period of time. But appreciate what you do have: an awesome wooden coaster, a beautiful lakeside amusement park, an awesome water park and an actually decent SLC. If Cedar Fair didn't buy the Paramount parks then rides like Fury 325, Banshee, Diamondback, i305, and Leviathan wouldn't even exist. I'm thankful Cedar Fair bought all 5 of them and gave them attention. They wouldn't have been as good as they are today if they were still owned by Paramount. And yes I understand how the purchase of the Paramount Parks affected the then cedar fair parks' rankings, but I don't think that could affect the park forever. All of the neglected Cedar Fair parks like MiA and VF could easily be revived. Anything is possible and I'm sure Cedar Fair would give them attention soon. Trust me I dealed with that coaster drought/neglect pain when my home park California's Great America didn't get a new coaster in 11 YEARS. It really sucks
  11. It would be cheaper than building a whole new coaster. They don't have any more room. If they want another coaster they'll have to remove something. Xcelerator's only real draw is the launch and top hat. Why not create a whole new coaster experience without really removing a current ride? Also the recent refurbishment was just regularly scheduled maintenance that lasted a week. They just went through and replaced some worn out train and flywheel parts. They do it every couple years. I agree. The hardest part of adding a new coaster at Knotts is finding the space for it. At this point they may have to remove something or just squeeze it in the middle of something

  14. I was at my home park California's Great America for physics day. It was my first visit in the 2016 season and I had a lot of fun. I love how the park is mentioning the park's 40th Birthday and even created a logo for it. I however wish that the park/ Cedar Fair would thow a 40th bday celebration like they did at Kings Dominion. I wish they would bring back a classic attraction or bring in a brand new major attraction for this season. So after all the talking, here's my official trip report. Going through downtown San Jose on the way to CGA Finally we made it to California's Great America As we were walking in, we saw advertisements for Mass Effect New Earth. The parks new attraction Can we take a moment and realize that California's Great America is a beautiful park. Just Look at the artsy pictures I'm taking Front entrance So lovely. Love how Cedar Fair is well-maintaining this park Good old B&M invert Flight Deck for the first ride. 23 years old and it's still running butter smooth Some nerd pics for your entertainment Gold Striker's line was too long so sadly we did not ride it Demon (AKA Turn Of The Century) was our second ride and surprisingly it was running VERY smooth With Demon being an old arrow custom looper you would expect it to be rough and have head banging but when we rode there wasn't really any head banging AT ALL. On the two vertical loops there was a little bit but on the corkscrew finale there was zero head banging! A great surprise for us ARROW NERD SHOT They were showing Behemoth at CW on the fun TV We were going to ride Grizzly but it was down all day Many coaster enthusiasts know that Grizzly has been ranked the worst wooden coaster in the world for 15 Years straight. I honestly do not think it's that bad at all. Though it is boring and bumpy I think that does not take away from the ride experience. Those who complain about this ride should go check out rides like the bandit at movie park Germany and all those other terrible Woodies. We then went on drop tower. I personally think That the current color scheme to the ride is eh but I would love the original colours to return. Me and my friend Derek went on it and it was amazing! Love the airtime you experience on it Had the hotdog and snacks stand by psyco mouse for lunch. I finally got the green souvenir bottle which was really cool When I was eating I got a nice view of psycho mouse. Unfortunately I did not ride it. One of the slowest lines in the entire park Gonna need a moment of silence, guys. The old footers for the Vekoma flying Dutchman Stealth. It was the worlds first flying coaster when it first opened Stealth's old station that still stands I got the chance to go in it and I will now document to all you guys what remains from stealth in the old station The old queue line. Not entirely sure this is the old switchbacks but it looks like it These rectangular cement blocks that I circled in red used to be the manoeuvres attached to the train that would actually lower it down in the laying down position And finally the two liness that you see in the concrete. That used to be where the track was. Concrete was filled up in the spot when they were building Boomerang Bay Finally got to ride their new attraction Mass Effect New Earth Excellent theming in the queue! Mass Effect was great! The 4D view was awesome and I loved it! I definitely recommend you check this out because it is amazing! Gonna need another moment of silence ;( The old Vekoma Invertigo spot. Another ride in the CGA graveyard Me my friend Dustin rode the celebration swings right near the front entrance so I wanted to go ride vortex, I mean, Groin Destroyer: The Ride, to see if it's gotten any better I rode it in the third row and it was rough as usual. Still got a great nerd shot while waiting in the queue. Let's hope floorless Vortex happens I then left at 3 o'clock. Thanks for a great day Great America. I'll be back very soon Before I left I had to get one more shot of Flight Deck And Levis Stadium And a Dick Kinzel trash can..
  15. The third one of the three you posted is the most likely TBH, they could fit a good sized coaster there, like a B&M Hyper Totally. They could use Invertigo's old spot for its station and queue and have the layout go in that spot I circled.
  16. I really like Acrobat at Nagashima Spa Land's color scheme along with Tatsu and Gatekeeper. Can't go wrong with a light blue color scheme Acrobat Though Tatsu is really faded right now, its color scheme sure does kick a$$ Gatekeeper
  17. My guess is that it is related to building codes...cover it and it might be treated the same as a regular building and be subject to other requirements that CGA is either unable to accommodate or too cheap to do it. In any case, it's one of the worst things about CGA on a hot summer day! As CGA being my home park I have questioned the uncovered stations for years. The worst thing is that it gets HOT in the South Bay in the summer and without that shade cover it is really ridiculous and it gets pretty hot. One time my brother got sunburnt after waiting in Flight Deck's station too long and in FD station there's no shade cover. Blame is on CGA
  18. i just went on it for the first time friday, and the guy let me sit in the back. If you've been getting row preference on Gold Striker you've been unusually lucky. Due to the small station size they almost always mandate seating. In my experience they kinda go overboard with it mandating seating even with no line and practically empty trains. On the popular rides like Gold Striker there has to be assigned seating. I remember Flight Deck used to have assigned seating until they changed it. I've been riding GS since it first opened in 2013 and have never gotten the front row. If you do then consider yourself lucky.
  19. I don't think Knotts is doing anything with Xcelerator the ride just got some refurbishment or something and also it would be expensive to reprofile the whole ride
  20. Totally agree, as much as I like the Sky Rocket II coasters, the park doesn't need another low capacity launched coaster. Plus Xcelerator is right next to the site and it's a superior ride. I'd love to see a big B&M (hyper, dive, winged, take your pick), but I'd take an airtime filled Megalite, Chance GT-X, or Mack anyday. If they were to remove the 2 buildings by Calico Mine Ride & Boomerang they could possibly fit a B&M Dive Coaster in the spot though it would be very small. I say a Hyper GT-X that goes over or under Timber Mountain Log Ride and does a turn around by Silver Bullet's helix would be the way to go. I drew a layout for the coaster and what it would look like in its spot. Blue: coaster Yellow: station Red: queue Green: this is not related to a the coaster but they can possibly put a slingshot in this area. Definitely be a good fit for the boardwalk area
  21. If Knotts took out boomerang they can easily fit a Premier Rides Sky Rocket II in it and riptide's spot
  22. Great idea if they replace the regular trains for the new restraints for Boomerang. I know it's Michigan's Adventure, but they can spare $2 million every 20 years I hope. That works out great! I would rather see Canada's Wonderland's Time Warp removed and sent to MiA that Knott's Boomerang. Knotts has already lost their screamin swing and riptide and I don't want to see another ride in their grave yard.
  23. Well, let's not go crazy here. yeah at least KD has 13 coasters Disneyland has only 5 (including Goofy's Sky School and California Screamin) KD>>>>>Disneyland
