  1. I am so excited to try this thing out! I need to get back to the park within the next couple of months because when I went on opening day both Windstarz and Power Surge were closed (along with Endeavor of course). Also, I need to try out the platinum wristband now knowing that Slingshot takes single riders!!!
  2. I rode Roar in the 2015 season and it was a very bad woodie (that's saying it nicely), but it was a totally different experience in 2016. When you get back to the park ( hopefully before they RMC it ) I would give Roar another chance. Coasters are just like us, they change.
  3. Yeah, I just drove by the park a few minutes ago and it looks great. The park is starting to come back to life!
  4. No, VR was not running, but we got to test both VR experiences like The New Revolution and the Superman experience. Rick said that they expect VR to open the first or second week of June. Also, Roar and Superman were definitely running better this year then they did last year.
  5. That's great news! Have you tried out Chop Six and if so how was the food?
  6. I will be there aswell. I am very excited to try out the newly refurbished trains on Superman (maybe with VR headsets?) and to see if Roar is running any better after some retracking over the offseason. It should be a great day!
  7. I am hearing that the VR headsets are going to open June 11th!
  8. Here is an up-close look at Thunderhawk's beautiful paint job. (Via dall paint on Instagram)
  9. Thunderhawk looks truly stunning now! I'm glad to see it getting some restoration work done! It was chipped and peeled when I had visited last June. Thanks for sharing the photo, Physical! Wow, Thunderhawk is looking good. I am glad Dorney is taking the time to restore such a classic ride! I don't know about everyone else, but I am so excited to ride it this season.
  10. Didn't I say that the new SBF Traffic Jam was going to be rethemed to fit the area? Yes, yes I did.
  11. Last years haunt, understaffing was not the issue, but for all the other years the event was slightly understaffed (but not by much). Actually, one of the main focuses last year was to increase the amount of actors per haunt attraction. My biggest problem is that some of the actors don't even try and a few times they just started talking to one another while I was walking through the scene. I really don't expect that much scare from Dorney which I leave that up to the other haunted attractions in the area (Lehigh Valley Zombies, Hall of Horrors, Freak and Fun House, etc.). I go to the haunt to ride the coasters with little to no lines and then if I have time I hit up some of the mazes and scare zones.
  12. I know the guy that runs that account. He hasn't told me any details yet, but once it gets closer he will tell me more information. I believe he got a job in haunt management this year so he will help make some of the decisions!
  13. I like the idea of these VR headsets, especially since it is optional. The thing I am worried about is how clean the headsets are going to be, I hope they are sanitary. Does anyone know about the cleaning process for these?
  14. That's a very valid point, I know you will only see me in the first car of Thunderhawk (Third row is pretty good too). Everywhere else lacks the ejector airtime that the front car gives so much of.
  15. I think the ride will run at least slightly better then it has been (and as of 2015, Thunderhawk wasn't running that bad) with the new trains and some minor retracking, it should be a great year for Thunderhawk.
  16. Thanks for the update, I haven't driven past the park in a few weeks. Thunderhawk is going to look great once they are finished giving it a fresh coat of white paint. The question is, how is it going to run?
  17. Wow, these trains look amazing! (Via Mike Fehnel's Twitter)
  18. Mike has been spoiling us with Thunderhawk updates! (Via Mike Fehnel's Twitter)
  19. Thunderhawk's new trains construction update (Via Mike Fehnel's Twitter):
  20. I am impressed with Dorney's recent focus to adding new and improved light packages. Last offseason, Dorney Park added a pretty impressive light display on the Ferris Wheel and now they are adding chaser lights to Thunderhawk. Not to mention, the light package that came with the Cedar Creek Flyers is great!
  21. It is probably used, it looks like they got it straight from a carnival.
  22. For some reason it bothers me a little, but I agree with you, there are many other things this park needs to focus on.
  23. Sorry, he did not tell what they are re-theming it to.
  24. So this wristband is $70 when if you buy your Six Flags season pass the first week they go on sale, they are only $65. Not to mention that gives you every Six Flags park in the chain. For Luna Park that isn't that bad of a deal, but compared to your typical amusement park that is very expensive.
  25. In other news, the Frisbee from Fiesta Texas will be helping out Tomahawk this year! The whole ride carriage is sitting at Six Flags New England. (Via: SFNEONLINE)
