Couple questions. What's the deal again for season pass holders getting in a little early and where do you go at the gate to get let in? Also is there a short cut to get over towards El Toro instead of having to go up into the midway and around? Lastly which coasters have single rider lines and are the different entrances then the main? Thanks.

I'm going to be flying into LA on January 6th to spend a couple of days at MM before heading to Vegas for a meeting. It will be my first time at MM so I'm hoping you all can give me an idea of how best to hit the park. Looks like the hours are only 11-6 so I might get a couple hours before closing on Friday the 6th and then all day Sat & Sunday. Heading to Vegas on Monday. Also I have the dining plan so any recommendations on where to eat would be helpful. Lastly is the park normally pretty dead this time of year? Thanks in advance for helping me to plan this out. Can't wait to finally get to MM!

Glad you could use the pic. Just so you know it's not called the ride of steel anymore. When they converted it back this year it's now just called Superman The Ride. Yes one coaster now has had three names!! -

Here is SFNE's Fireball sign. Also noticed that the ride index needs to be updated since Superman The Ride is still labeled as Bizarro. SFNE Fireball Sign -
This weekend SFNE is celebrating National Grand Parents Day by throwing a 75th Anniversary party for Thunderbolt. We went to the park today to check out the festivities. Here's a little history of this classic wooden coaster. Thunderbolt opened in 1941, It was designed by Harry Baker and Harry Traver, and built by Joseph Drambour. Thunderbolt is the oldest roller coaster at Six Flags New England and also the oldest roller coaster in any Six Flags park. You might say but what about the Wild One at Six Flags America which was built in 1917? True but it was relocated from Paragon Park and has only been at Six Flags America since 1986. Thunderbolt uses a single PTC train which has 4 cars, and an individual lap bar and seatbelt for each person. An attendant has to manually unlock each car's lap bars by stepping on and pushing down a release bar at the front of each car. Thunderbolt was dedicated as an ACE Coaster Landmark on August 2, 2008. Much of the coaster is hidden behind buildings but here are several pics of Thunderbolt. Every party needs a cake right? In honor of Thunderbolt the new Birthday Cake Funnel Cake is available this weekend. SFNE's awesome Jen McGrath brought us in to see one get made and to try it out. I definitely recommend it!!!! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Now that we've looked at the oldest coaster in the park let's take a look at what's happening with the newest addition. Huge thanks to SFNE and Jen McGrath for an awesome day with helping us to capture this classic coaster. Fence is now up around Splash Water Falls getting ready for it's removal. Coming in 2017!

According to SFNE Online Superman without VR is allowing choice of seats but certain groupers are still feeling a little to empowered. Management has said they are fixing the issue. VR is also only 3-6 pm now and in her latest live chat Jen said to get your rides in now if you want to try it so it's going away. I'm guessing it's all SF parks but at least SFNE is offering a slight discount during the flash sale for renewing 2016 pass holders. Noticed this when renewing yesterday. The link is on the renewal page and it comes with a few added benefits. Brown Link for Added Discount Brown Link for Added Discount The form page gave me an issue but it did eventually work when I opened the form in its own window. You enter your current pass number and it gives you a code. Added Benefits
