  1. Hey I'll be there Monday evening and all day Tuesday! We may see each other! Haha
  2. What's with all these recalled parts on only lightning rod? Wildfire is running perfectly from what I've seen. So is Storm Chaser
  3. Let the choir sing "yesssssssssss"...for now at least.
  4. What would you for a person that's going the days the 25th-27th and doing the next day free deal? Take a guess and what you think my chances would be lol
  5. Stopped back through Pigeon Forge to spend the night on the way back from the beach. The whole area is crowded and hotels are booking fast. Not sure if it was stated or not but the Gatlinburg Apline Coaster is open and running today. I'll be back down the 25th-27th to stay in a cabin near Locust Ridge, relax and enjoy the park. I'm hoping with everything in me that the coaster is back up and running, I mean come on don't make this another month delay.
  6. In Myrtle Beach right now so I haven't even looked at this thread in a day or two. Haven't even thought about Dollywood to be honest, but I'm going the 25th-27th. We are going to do the arrive after 3 deal just incase LR isn't open or decides to spazz tf out. I know we will enjoy ourselves on other rides, especially getting a deep tissue massage from Thunderhead and riding WE til we are bruised (yes that happened last year within 4 rides haha). There's a family I met down here now that cancelled their stay at Dreammore because they were told by staff that the coaster was still in tech rehearsals and couldn't be promised a for sure opening. They're from Nevada and have ridden TC so they just decided to reroute and come to Myrtle for a week.
  7. I'm only 2.5 hours away, so not really a bad drive, but we are taking our actual vacation the 11th to Myrtle Beach for a week, then may possibly swing by and see if LR is running normally. If not we'll just continue as planned and go with the rest of the family at the end of the month.
  8. It's running and everyone seems happy, but those 4 rows are still closed off? Oh and Danny has to be the happiest Op haha https://instagram.com/p/BHUmMqTjXLh/
  9. Yes that's the one, was just posting it.
  10. There is a picture on IG of the train going up the launch, so disregard the mobile notification. The train looks to be loaded as well.
  11. Could it possibly be that they are just incorporating more effects to the launch? Peeling out hot rods can create quite a bit of smoke, and that would be the exact spot on the coaster where an effect like that would take place. Just a thought. To be honest I did first think this just for the fact that it would a REALLY cool effect to have on the coaster! I hope it's just that rather than a malfunction.
  12. Dollywood, literally wth.... Yes that's the train on the pre-launch there and that's smoke. Just now posted on IG
  13. So if updating Wildire's restraints will take 3-5 days, so will updating Lightning Rods. The poor coaster can't catch a break!
  14. Fun fact about Wild Eagle, most of us know row 4 is known as the big boy seats because of the extended belt length. One year I was riding with my friend who is 6'3 (yes, his shoulders were bruised after the ride) but anyway when I asked the host about if there were any seats made for bigger people she looked at me like I was stupid when clearly row 4 is differently colored for a reason. Her response was "No sir, every seat is the same, if you can't fit well...haha try the train." So we went to row 4, successfully got on, and done the wave like the queen to her. Yes throwing "shade" to her. Anyway, for me my only problem will be my legs. So from the I'm going to work out until I go, I have a month and a week to do so. Oh by the way, if you go on WBIR's post about the opening you will see the areas fear of riding LR because of rumors of reaching abnormal speeds, structural movement (which made me laugh), and others complaining of back injuries. Take note the one complaining of back injury was a 60 some year old couple.
  15. Has anyone on here that's ridden it (anyone that's bigger in the thigh area) have an opinion on the seats? I watched a video on YouTube an this couple was saying out of all the coasters in DW, Lightning Rod had the smallest seats. Thinking back to WE, I was like "Really? Smaller than the European body style made Wingrider seat?" But I looked at this picture and questioned it.
  16. With the shaking if it's never been experienced on another RMC, seems like it's the fake end of the train. It is just attached at an elevated level, giving it the probability to shake, rattle, and hopefully not roll.
  17. Exactly. I check usually every day around 1 or 2 to see if there's any videos or pictures. Around 2:30 today I seen pictures of people in line. Twitter is sometimes handy, but not all the time.
  18. Lol I watched the selfie POV even though awkward, it shows how much power is given in the back of the train and you can hear the screams from literally everyone on the ride. From "DEAR GODS" to "HOLY CRAPS" they can all be heard.
  19. There is no on-board audio. Well no not "on board" to be exact but there are revving sounds as soon as the train leaves the station all the way til it launches. The boxes you see on the side of the railing are speakers. Then there are front facing speakers under the cross over at the launch.
  20. Here's another video (up close and personal) from the first turn from the station to the launch I found from Twitter. You can hear the on board audio.
  21. I thought it was supposed to open back up on Wednesday? Well here goes so many thousands of more dollars a day being fined for not opening. The upcoming warm weather should attract a lot of guests. When I was down this past weekend it was a soggy soggy weekend.
  22. Just drove out toward the park, the park is barely touching lot C. D/E and on are completely bare and empty. It's a rainy day so I mean that could have some hurt on people's attendance.
  23. We heard the same thing from a park lead today. Sounds like it will take a couple of days to get things back up. They are getting close! I hope nobody gets frustrated over this kind of delay. I definitely understand getting restless over the technical problems, but this is the textbook definition of something that couldn't be helped It isn't just LR either, Tennessee Tornado is closed due to it as well as Mystery Mine. Not sure as to what the lightning done exactly, but yea the only coasters that are open at Dollywood are Thunderhead, WE, and FCE. I'm in town right now and people were behind me at breakfast this morning that went to Dollywood yesterday, and were given rain check tickets this AM because nothing was going to really be open. They said the park was dead. Early June and the park is dead? What's the deal? I've always known Dollywood to be crammed from June-early August.
  24. They had to have filmed it with the glasses because I mean, ride ops standing on both sides and you can't be in the front seat and just have a camera right there. Plus I can tell by the audio quality.
  25. A guy I know heard it wouldn't be open yesterday or at all this weekend. When asking one of the employees online they just responded with a zipped mouth emoji. So is it something that's a setback? I have no clue. Is it something such as filming and prepping for a grand opening, possibly.
