  1. Great update. I'm sure my nieces & nephew will want to go there as soon as they hear about it! Also, Kidtums is just adorable! I love her "Cher" wave. She's all growd-up!
  2. I'm as gay as a three dollar bill (as my dad used to say) & have been proudly since I was a pre-schooler in the 70'sa. Although, my gay card might get revoked, as I despise showtunes, can't decorate to save my life, hate flowers (unless their dead or fake), despise Barbra Streisand & the only Judy Garland I like is in two places (The Wizard of Oz, of course and in her heroin-induced daze before she croaked). Guess I have to return my free microwave... On the flipside, I wear more make-up than a cheerleader & can cut any irritating breeder down in a second with the strength of my superior verbal abuse tactics. I'd still like to play with a hobo (but I'd rather play with Dan though)!
  3. Thanks for your fabulous trip report & piccies. From what I read on another forum, PM is supposed to get a refurb later this spring. Haven't heard about POTC though. Thanks again for sharing your experience at a park I drool at visiting one day soon!
  4. I think I just threw up a little... Poor little kid-tums, she looked like she was ready to scream for help from child services! He-he!
  5. Three words: Gor-Ge-Ous! Thanks for sharing your beautiful piccies!
  6. This is pretty much how I feel. I honestly never noticed the "What's New" part either... Great job on the updates & keeping us all in the know on parks all over! Oh, and more pics of Dan never hurt either! He-he!
  7. I could just kill myself for not going (although I think driving my Vespa to Valencia from Ventura just might do it- Dead Man's Curve here I come!). It looks & sounds like you all had a blast. Glad to see SFMM getting some much needed TLC. Hope to attend the next one!
  8. My older brothers won tickets to be there from KLOS back in the day. If I watch it in slo-mo, I can see them in the background in a couple parts. Isn't on one of the KISS compilation DVDs now? I haven't seen it in years. I just remember wanting Ace Frehley to be my boyfriend. Sadly, he's not aged well at all. Poor thing needs to hide behing the make-up again! It's weird how there is soooo much history in every little part of that park to me. I never enjoyed most of the rides they're getting rid of. I remember when Free fall first opened & I had a horrible experience of it breaking down twice during one ride. First it got stuck on the way up & we were stranded for about a1/2 an hour, then it moved over to the drop and stopped again (for another 15m or so). Needless to say, I swore off that ride afterwards. The irony is I adore TOT at DCA (which is kind of the same ride- in minor way, but dressed up & themed beautifully). I think they should run Colossus with one track going forward & one going backwards ALL the time IMO (they haven't done that in ages, right?). I will always love that ride! Hell, I even like Gold Rush! If they killed that ride, I'd be truly saddened. Thanks for the update & pics. I can't wait to see the new stuff (especially X2)!!!
  9. Great update & wonderful to see SFMMM getting some much needed refurb! I grew up with SFMM (i miss the Trolls) a close second behind DLR as a must-see visit (twice a year or so), but the last decade has seen the park slip into almost "why bother" zone (sans Gay Days annually, of course). And honestly, I wouldn't even go to the park if X wasn't open (my absolute fave RC IMO- and the refurb will make it more Vader-like and less Tele-tubby-ish). Sorry I missed yer funness at the park & at yer afterparty & yes, Dan, I would like to be "There"... He-he!
  10. So... let me get this "straight": a "gay roman painting", a "bag of suck" and "Nurse Dan".... Am I in Xanadu, or did I win the "men's club" lottery? Hurrah!
  11. Dan can play "doctor" with me anytime... I don't even care if he's diabetic or afraid of water (I'm that desperate). However, he should be VERY afraid that I fit very nicely in my "Elle Driver" nurse gear (even if I'm not a nurse, or a bounty hunter and I still have both my eyes... and yes, I'm quite gay). As Karen Walker says, my gayness can be seen from space! Looks like the TDR trip was loads of fun! Someday, I will get to go...
  12. Great updates thus far! Of course anything Disney is great appreciated by MWA! The TOT at DisneySea looks simply mazing! I'm very, very jealous of anyone who got to go there (and from what I've read & seen- you've got more than a few other fabu rides left just at DisneySea- JTTCOTE & 20K LUTS). Thanks again to all for sharing your stories & pics! PS. Was that Dan on a water ride? OMG! PPS. KidTums is a future goth ('cos she's got a Shiriki doll. And yes, I'm jealous!)
  13. While they're at it, they're supposed to empty out the showbuilding and refurbish everything. Remember...Disneyland takes care of their rides. -Jahan "But Elissa...I love you!" Makanvand We have a "wiener"! From what I've read on other sites, the ride is going have a massive refurb, where they're basically tearing out the entire inside & re-doing the entire ride- outside as well (flumes, annoying children, sets etc.) with a few changes at the beginning and end of the ride as well. And, the new version won't "premiere" until AFTER the next holiday overlay in late 2008, so it really won't re-open until 2009. Can't say that I ever enjoyed the ride (tortured through it annually since 1970), but I did/do love the set design & artwork.
  14. X was fab, but X2 will be fabulous!
  15. Thanks for the great report. I dream of a trip to DLP myself. Maybe the next time I go to London, I'll chunnel to Paris & try to get there! Thanks again!
