Went to "Out On The Mountain" last night. Had an excellent evening & did the "go to the right first" guide & it definitely worked. Was at the park from 8 PM-12:30 AM. Hit 6 rides total (Full Throttle, Goliath, Green Lantern, Batman, Tatsu, & X2). Would have went on more, but we were hungry & wanted a beer, so that ate at some of the ride time. Overall, it was a fantastic evening & will definitely do "go to the right" in the future. Less crowded & almost all the rides were 15 minutes or less!

We didn't go on X2 (my friend is terrified of it, but after surviving Green Lantern, she said next time we can tackle that fear for her). Green Latern was a 45 minute wait at 4 PM, not bad IMO for a new ride. Goliath was about 30-40 minutes. Have fun on Thursday! Just be prepared for discombobulated crowds, since summer crowds have officially begun.

Finally went to the park yesterday (after a couple years). What a difference it was, to say the least. It was quite busy (kids out for summer in other areas). The crowds mid-morning at the entrance was a nightmare (figured alot of disarray amongst groups entering the park methinks). Once in, the lines for the rides at the front of the park meant 1 hour (or more) wait. We went straight for Tatsu (since there was an hour wait for Revolution (never saw that in 30 years of going to the park). Only took about 45 minutes to ride. Then we went to Apocolypse, Gold Rusher. Took a break to eat & then Jet Stream, Riddler's Revenge (by this time the lines started to fizz down- it was around 4). Went to the front of the park to activate my season pass (passing the remnance of Log Jammer (so sad to see that it's gone), went to Revolution (line was a walk-on at this point of the day and then made the mistake of going on Roaring Rapids (it was still quite warm out, so we thought a it would be a nice cool-off). OMG! We got completely soaked. I forgot about how wet you get. Much moreso than say, Grizzly River Run at DCA. We then went to tackle Green Lantern... Whoa! I have been a big fan of X2 myself, so I thought this would be childs play. Completely freaked us out!!! I actually had to close my eyes at one point. Never happened on a thrill ride in my entire life. We ended the day with Goliath. Good times!

Sooooooooooooooo jealous. I would DIE to go to TDL (especially TDS)!!! Need to win the lottery, get a sugar daddy or rob a bank ASAP. Someday I will go!!! Thanx for sharing your stories, pics and videos!!! -

I finally got to return to the park yesterday (seems like it's been almost 5 years methinks). A very fun-filled day and evening! Rode: X2 (long wait, but worth it IMO), Viper, Tatsu (rode for the first time ever-LOVE it!), Gold Rusher (a fave old school classic), Jet-Stream (to cool off- badly needs some TLC: the old boats and old paint floating the water is very bad show IMO), Terminator (very fun, not what I was expecting- the ghostly remains of the past horrid experiences of Psyclone still make me cringe), Riddler (always fun), Batman (ditto), Colossus (my fave of the classic old-school rides) and finished with Goliath (my second fave coaster of the park). Sadly, Revolution wasn't running anymore before we left (at around 8:00). Also wanted to ride: Scream, Deja-Vu and Log Jammer. Maybe next time!

Robb's Fantastic 40th Birthday Cruise!

The TPR Cruise Report was fantastically hilarious! -
1. What are your initial thoughts? I really love the idea. But sadly, I can't afford it at this time. 2. Can you think of anything else we could be offering? I think what you're offering is genuinely better than most premium membership offers elsewhere. 3. Is this something that interests you? Yes, but again, I just can't afford it at this time. 4. Why would you NOT be interested in this? Finances are tight right now. Maybe later in a few years. 5. Any additional feedback you can give us based on the information you see here. Keep up the fabulous job of sharing your information & trip reports/pics/videos on the parks throughout the globe!

Theme Park Review's 2008 Asia Tour!
nojarama replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great finale trip report, except for the blasphemous comment about "Pete's Dragon": In actuality, the worst film EVER IMO is "The Stuff" (a horror film about killer frozen yogurt). I worked at a movie theater when it came out back in the day & we literally refunded ever ticket to every customer who asked for one. It opened on a Friday & closed that Monday. Just awful (and not in a good John Waters way)! I want to rent it to see if it truly is as horrible as I remember, but I'm afraid it will melt my DVD player... Back on topic though, Thanks again for sharing pics and comments about such a fantastic place. Hope to visit Japan myself someday (especially TDL and TDS)! -

Yet again, thanks for even more fabulous piccies (that one of Kidtums with the Micky/Minnie Halloween stuffed toys was precious). And yes, the new Monster's Inc. ride looks FABULOUS! Wish they could revamp the DCA version like that. -

Theme Park Review's 2008 Asia Tour!

Yeah, I don't understand all the whining about this, either. (Well, based on what I know about "Disney purists," maybe I do.) I hardly see how this "demeans" the attraction, and if adding Disney characters to a DISNEY ride puts more butts in the boats, the purists should be all for it. But, no--this belittles Walt's vision! In fact, I demand the removal of the upgraded, Dolby 5.1 version of the California ride's soundtrack in favor of the original mid-1960s' stereo version! I was mortified myself when I heard they were going to add the Disney characters to IASW. I admit that I despise the ride itself (that song makes my ears bleed still to this day). But, I adore the set design/imagineering. I think Mary Blair was a genius! Her designs still inspire me to this day. I do confess though, they did an excellent job of tying in the old & the new with teh additions. My only questions is: Did they still include the Rainforest in the HKDL version? I know they added a whole Asia section not in the US version. I hope they keep it in the DLR version, as that was my favorite section of the ride. Guess I'll find out in December when it re-opens in Anaheim. Thanks again for a great trip report. And Kid-tum's looks precious!!! -

Finally got through all the TR's, pics & videos of the tour. Thanks to all for your perspectives. Wish I could have been there (especially DLP). What did you all think of the DLP take of PM and POTC? I adore DLP (and I've never been there yet). I think they really did a wonderful job with that park IMO (especially that AWESOME castle). Can't wait to visit someday! -
The Official TPR "East Coast/Behemoth Trip" Update
nojarama replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Apparently I have "stalker" issues to some... I apologize to all. It was all meant in fun. I didn't mean to "creep" or "offend" anyone. I will continue with my "inside" voice (that was hilarious BTW) regarding all things Dan in the future. As for the "Ghetto Matterhorn", I was genuinely questioning the ride in my earlier post... -

Yay! Dan's back!!! I came too! (but for a different reason)! Looks like yer all having a blast! I think that the "Ghetto Mattehorn" looks kinda fun. Is it a smooth or bumpy ride? -

Awesome piccies. Guess I better get started working the streets, and trying to find a sugar daddy so I can go there! Oh, who am I kidding, I already work the streets (and that's just for kicks)!
