Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Wouldn't it be cool if cedar point decided to put in an S&S polar coaster? They could have the first coaster over 200, 300, 400, and 500 feet, it would solve their tight land problem, add another coaster, add more shops and restaurants, and also, since they just got rid of their observation tower, the polar coaster has an observation tower on the top. I am still almost positive on the whole mantis conversion, and it looks like it will improve the ride a lot, but I would really like to see this at the park next year, even if it's unlikely. -

That track is for an inverted or flying coaster, as seen in the curvature of the rail ties. Also, the plain solid teal track is the inverted or flying coaster track, and then there is another teal track, non-inverted track, but has a small narrow strip of neon green on the bottom. If you want to see the pictures, visit Screamscape. -
I actually have. I have been thinking about them actually doing both in one year. That would be amazing. I feel like when Iron Cyclone opens, it will really attract a big part of the crowd to that end of the park, with the last 3 new rides in the dry park going down that side. Maybe they will try to direct the crowd back down the other side by returning SROS to best in the world by doing them both in one year. However, I don't know how likely that is at this point

I have been there one time this year (I usually go more), but the ride with the longest lines this year is the Sky Screamer, so if it is a ride you want to go on, go on it early due to the longer lines later in the day. If not, try to start near the back of the park, like on Bizarro, or something around that area. Bizarro, last time I went was a walk on, and the Sky Screamer and every other ride down the other end was between 20 or 30 minutes. Also, I don't know if this time of year you would need a flash pass during the week, but I thing you would be fine, except for Friday. And Bizarro is a pretty good ride. I think it's better than Skyrush, but that's my opinion, and your opinion might be different. Just try to sit in the front or back. If you stay until closing, try to ride Bizarro front row at night. It is one of my favorite seats on any roller coaster at night. Have fun!

No in the message they actually said "Is your life boring and mundane" they said boring and mundane after a very brief pause and really emphasized those two words in the sentence -

INTAMIN PLZ! -
You also must be new at this whole Six Flags thing. Or maybe I'm just thinking of SFMM. I agree with MagnumFreak25. While it is definitely cool to see companies are able to put inversions on wood coasters, I think they should focus on other things otherwise they will end up being just like some steel coasters only wood. As if there was no difference between having a woodie or a steel ride, just the material it is made of. I'm okay with an inversion here and there (and I definitely praise RMC for what they have been doing) but here I'm with intamin's president when he said (during IAAPA 2012, I think) that if they wanted inversions, you had their steel rides because to put one on a wooden coaster you will always have to use some more metal and then it's not as "pure". Now if you ask me: Would you rather have a 7 inversions RMC built near your house or another wood coaster made by a random company (apart from intamin) I probably would go for the RMC but, if it were me, I would focus on other things like airtime, "twistyness", sensation of speed,.... I'm totally with you guys. I do not want any inversions to be honest on Iron Cyclone. I want a twisty, airtime-filled ride, with a nice speed, steepness, and it's old drop returned. I just have a feeling Six Flags will try to do the whole Medusa drop and add an inversion after the drop off the lift hill, and add at least 2 more inversions. But I agree, they need to go the NTAG route, rather than the IR route. If they do, it will actually have a legit chance to be the best ride in the park.

I don't think there was a blue one. If anything, maybe it could have been that family invert that went to china. And I'm pretty sure that the yellow track is for the flyer going to china. Since there a two different colors of track, and both are for flyers, and one of the destinations is missing, what if they were making the flyer in china two different colors of track, (like half of the ride be yellow, half be teal). I know this is extremely unlikely, just thought I'd throw it out there for the heck of it. Not to mention, it would look really ugly -
So I just got back to my hotel from the park today. I didn't get to the park until 1 PM (which was out of my control, because I'm from Bethel, CT, and we (by we I mean my family), got a late start because we had to drop my dog of at a kennel, got stuck in traffic after taking many wrong turns, and many other setbacks). But we still had a fun day. First we went to Bizarro (my brother is one of those kids who wants to get "warmed up" on rides). It was actually a pretty smooth ride. I rode it twice as there was barely any line, once in the front row. Not the best ride, nor one I would've started with, but its a fun ride. And the fire was working too! Next, I went to ride Zumanjaro, and tried the single rider line. It took longer than the actual line, so I wont be going back there. The ride was just ok. The view was impressive, but the drop didn't seem as intense as I thought. I still enjoyed it. Then we hit El Toro, nuf said. Then I went to Nitro. I rode it in the front row. I let a group go in front of us on the dreaded C train, and took the A train. It was actually a little shaky and rattled a bit, but still a great ride. Nothing compared to the C train. Superman was next, and I rode it front row. Very smooth and unique. I love it. but it is a little on the shorter side Then was green lantern. This ride hurt my feet so unbelievably bad, that I will never step foot in that line again. Then we went to El Toro again, this time rode it back row, and this was the best ride of the day BY FAR Earlier in the day, I wanted my brother to go on Ka, but he didn't want to. so he said, "lets go later" so I gave in, but we were never able to because my parents wanted to leave. And I was all like we did enough for the short time we had, but I wish we could have done more I am staying til sunday, but I wont be going tomorrow but there is a big possibility of a sunday trip, and I will be there for opening if it works out Overall, short, but fun day. At least I could've gone. hopefully I can go on sunday

are you guys a fan of the left or right side? personally, I like the left, because of that final headchopper that the right doesn't have but seriously, this ride looks great from any seat -

This ride is designed so that little kid's wont be scared of it. its not too big, not too fast, but just right for a family park like holiday world I think it will fit holiday world perfectly and will be a great first steel coaster for holiday world -
