Today was proof that you can't always trust the weather forecast. Before I left my apartment to go to Dorney Park, I checked the weather for Allentown, PA. It called for rain from about noon until about 2 or 3. I decided to go anyway and I'm glad I did because it never rained at all. I got 5 rides on Talon (my favorite in the park), 3 on Hydra, and 3 on Steel Force. I didn't ride Thunderhawk because I didn't feel like getting pummeled. I didn't ride Possessed or Stinger because I just didn't feel like riding them. The lines were pretty much non-existent until about 4 or so when people started coming over from the water park. I arrived before the park opened and left about 5:30 or so.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

Is the youth convention going to be there for both Saturday and Sunday or just Saturday? I haven't yet bought my tickets and wondering if I should hold off going until June 24, which is a Wednesday. -
Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

I'm planning on going to Hersheypark this coming weekend. Since it will be my only visit this season, should I splurge for the Fast Track Pass? Also, should I go on Saturday or Sunday? -
I went to Dorney's Memorial Day fireworks show for the second year in a row tonight and it was awesome as ever. I didn't get any pics of the show because I only had my iPod touch with me and not my Nikon. I did take the following pic of some geese with their goslings, though. Overall, the lines seemed to be pretty good. I think the longest wait I had was for Steel Force. There was a small mechanical problem with Talon when the park first opened for the day, but it was solved quickly and I didn't notice any other rides not operating.

Knoebels Discussion Thread

I'm taking my parents this Saturday for their 40th wedding anniversary. The last time I was at Knoebels was before I conquered my fear of coasters, so I didn't ride any of the coasters. I'm looking forward to adding another 6 credits. -
Dorney Park allows pass-holders in 30 minutes early. Talon is almost always open for the ERT, and sometimes Hydra is as well. I can't really answer this one since I have the Season Dining Plan, but I do know that you can purchase meal vouchers ahead of time and they also offer an all-day dining plan where you can eat every 90 minutes or so. All the major coasters provide storage cubes on the platform. Dorney Park offers a 10% discount on food and merchandise. The longest lines are usually on the Wild Mouse and Thunder Canyon. I never get Fast Lane when I go and I'm always able to get multiple rides on all the coasters. Most people who go to Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom go there for the Wildwater Kingdom part. The lines do tend to get a bit longer as the day cools off.

I noticed a couple changes in regards to a couple of the already existing flats when I went on Saturday. First, the Tilt-a-Whirl now has seat-belt type things keeping the lap-bars down. Second, I was actually able to ride the Scrambler as a single rider. The web-site still states that the Scrambler doesn't allow single riders, so I'm wondering why the operator was allowing them on.
