  1. This is the first RMC Coaster on the West Coast, but here in Texas we have two. When I enter the train I buckle my seat belt and by that time the lap bars should be able to be brought down. I take the seat belt tail and lay it over the lap bar. This way the ride operator can push down on my lap bar with one hand and grab the tail of my seat belt with the other and make sure each is secure. It should only take 2 seconds to do that.

  2. it looks like each side might offer a different experience each time you ride. It looks like some of the fins that help you spin are longer and shorter on some sides. I'd be interested to see which if any side is better and spins more.

It would have been cool I guess to paint the two rails in a different color and make one side Batman, the other a villain.

I also thought of putting a long fin on the lift hill: bam, the world first front/backflip lift in the world!

Maybe use these colors for another park and call it "The Joker."

  3. I'm still stumped on how they will be able to make each train race eachother with only three trains. Running four trains makes more sense. With two trains racing on the tracks and one unloading in the station, how will they have enough time to sync it up?
I believe you answered your own question. While one is loading/unloading, the other two are on the course. Theoretically, the time they take to load should roughly match the time on course. Also, the train approaching the green lift has a block brake where it will wait for the loading train to catch up if necessary - and knowing SFMM I'm guessing that will often be necessary. Reportedly the two chain drives are also variable speed and computer controlled so that they should always crest at the right time to match up...I've heard conflicting reports on that.

Okay so they are going to use the block brakes at the bottom of the lift hills. I wonder if it will be a complete stop or what. I'll be curious to see the variable speed on the lift motors too.

  4. For anyone debating the existence of a fourth train, just don't. The park would not have constructed storage space for four trains if they only purchased three. The green train will likely show up at some point in the next couple weeks and they should have plenty of time to get the necessary test time with all four trains.

  5. Magic Mountain has been a park that likes to push the envelope. They like to break records and be the first on a lot of their coasters. I wouldn't be surprised if RMC tackled a project like Colossus. A racing style would be a first for them. So we'll see what happens.

I don't see them totally taking out an iconic structure like Colossus, unless they were planning to replace it with something as big.
