Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

Why is there a need to compare Twisted Timbers and Steel Vengence? They're both RMCs opening in 2018 yes but there is no point in letting a larger faster longer coaster overshadow another one. I'm not going to ride Apollo's Chariot at Busch Gardens and be bummed that it's not Intimidator 305 or El Toro. If you constantly think about how much better coaster x is than other coasters it makes the hobby a lot less fun for you. Just ride coasters and have fun. 100% this! A lot of enthusiasts spend so much time comparing every coaster to every other coaster they have been on that they completely forget just to have fun. This is one reason why I do not rank my coasters. I agree 100%. Too many spend too much time comparing. Coaster vs coaster; park vs. park. -

Wonder if they will keep the gas pedal pushed down after this? -
I wouldn't bet on it. People don't go to Dorney for the dry park, so why add anything substantial? The water park does just fine on its own so adding an eatery there makes perfect sense. Locals generally do not look to Dorney as a place to ride state-of-the-art thrill rides. They have some good coasters and what they have is just fine for the guests they get. Makes sense.

LOL, define overkill?? -
Lol, don't feel for us here. I like the place. Though, I actually agree with you. The ghetto aspect as you put it is exaggerated, and hasn't been that way in years. Take from actual people that go a lot, not people that 'visited ' once or twice in a year. I wouldn't take my kids to a ghetto park. Main reason that I stopped going on the mid 2000s.

Hopefully no Super Friends. Just about everything in Movie Town has been redone/repainted, and looks very good. What worries me is that they didn't do that to Whistlestop. I'm glad that it is a new game. I was worried that a Spinsanity was going to be squeezed in there. Right now, it's all about the survey markers in Gotham. I don't think a Justice League may be going in anymore (still holding on though). Though, if it were, we wouldn't necessarily see demolition. A building like that can be deconstructed in a matter of days. Also, they would wait until the park closed down for the week. It's the only way into Gotham. Build the stinkin Coyote Creek to Gotham path..lol

I took a better picture of the stake near the tracks. It said MC 102. MC means meander corner. I bet there are more stakes somewhere that we cannot see, since that is the meander corner. The other 4 that are easy to see cannot be the only ones. See link below if you are in the mood to learn something...lol By the way, I am by no means qualified to access survey work. Edit: for some unknown reason, the pic is showing black. I'll take more when I go on the 16th for rollercoaster race day. https://definedterm.com/special_meander_corner

SFAs lack of trees would never be a reason for me to not go to the park or any park for that matter. Comparing it to KD and BGW it definitely lacks in the shade department but that's okay. I'd much rather be at SFA than work I say the same thing. Want shade, go inside. I like the beach a whole helluva lot though, so do not listen to me.

I hear you. Low income? You must not pay to stay. PG county is hella expensive to live here. One of the richest places to live in the state, Woodmore, is right around the corner from the park. Upper Marlboro and Bowie are right around park. One of the richest counties in the United States of America is Montgomery County. A 20 minute drive. Fairfax is 40 minutes away. Low income the area is not.
