  1. I can't speak for this year - but ^ that is what happened to me last year - they took my voucher at the gate, gave me my SP "card" right then and there BUT I still had to go to processing to make sure all my benefits were added. At least thats what I remember being told. I waited til the end of the day and only waited in line to do that for 10 minutes.
  2. Thanks for the photos/update. Can't wait to get back to this awesome park!
  3. Jersey Boys banner GONE! YES! ^^^ Thanks for the pics and reports guys. I absolutely could not get up there this weekend and now I'm glad I didn't! Between the bad ops on Friday and high winds on Saturday (it was windy as hell here in Philly too!) sounds like this weekend was a serious rough start as far as operations go. It is so nice to have this board to live vicariously through all of you lol. GAdv has a very high water table which is why there are no tunnels on any existing coasters at the park. A dive coaster is likely out of the question because of this. The whole 'over the entrance plaza' is very Cedar Fair right now with F325 & GK, I don't know why but I just don't see GAdv doing this. Also agreed with whoever said no more B&Ms. We all know the chain is unlikely to spend money on these. I think because we have so many B&Ms it leads people to speculate we'll get another one, but I think a Premier launcher (ala YOLO), a custom RMC (ala Goliath) or the S&S free spin are all much more likely candidates for our next coaster. The last custom B&M we got was Nitro, 14 years ago. I'll eat my words if we do, but imo, we're not getting a B&M in 2016.
  4. ^ I saw that too. As someone who brings as little crap as possible with me, that's a major score!
  5. LOL why not? I like the idea of the RT memorial there.
  6. More RT trains spotted today: "something" going on Old Country, tho the picture doesn't really tell us what. Again, these are not my pictures. I'm sitting in my office in rainy South Philly. These are all taken from SFGAdv Online's FB page and the Six Flags Great Adventure Connoisseurs FB group page.
  7. ^ yes edt: just saw that Ka is operating in the rain. Yes, you read that correctly. - Nitro is operating all 3 trains, Toro is operating one. - Repainted Rolling Thunder trains spotted near the RT track that is still there under Toro. Can you guys tell that there's nothing to do at work today and that I wish I were somewhere else? lol Here's some photos I stole from random GAdv FB groups, hope its cool to repost them here. Rolling Thunder trains: El Diablo construction Flash Pass building paintjob: Closed Fort Independence (word on the street is its closed FOR GOOD. let the speculation begin!) Refurbished Nitro trains with new wheels
  8. Vegetarian I'm sure you can find salads and whatnot, vegan I'm not so sure. New Jersey and California are very different in that respect lol. Some things of note I've seen online from folks at the park today: - Fort Independence is closed. - Flash Pass building got new paint. - Nitro trains are refurbished with brand new wheels - El Diablo land clearing is underway, parts are on site, no vertical construction. - Something is happening in Old Country.
  9. With the weather today the park is probably dead. I'm pretty jealous I'm sitting here at work. Everything will run unless its lightning (except Kingda Ka - rain hitting your face at 130mph is apparently not fun). Take a poncho and have a blast.
  10. That's awesome but your birthday would still be a perfect excuse to go to Dollywood for Smoky Mountain Christmas. A Smoky Mountain Christmas is the best kind of Christmas. Take me with you!!!! edit: In all seriousness, my b-day is first week of Dec. I had been slowly convincing the missus to go to BGT with me this year so I could spend my b-day there (and because its at the top of my park bucketlist and its warm, duh) but then we booked CP for Memorial Day and with our big move having just happened (and the fact we are currently living in a construction zone) I can't justify two big trips this year. Dollywood is definitely not far behind on my list, and your reports about Smokey Mountain Xmas definitely makes visiting that park at that time of year even more enticing.
  11. You know whats really exciting about Holiday in the Park @ GAdv? I'll finally be able to ride a coaster on my birthday without having to travel somewhere warm!!! Score!
  12. http://www.coastercon.com/html/2015_con.html Thank you. I'm guessing that might make the lines a little longer. I think the bigger concern should be that they'll have ERT in the morning and at night and I believe they are there that Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. So some rides may be closed off, unless their ERT is before/after the park opens, which I'm not sure of. All I can read out of that is "Become an ACE member to go with your Club TPR and European Coaster Club memberships, sign up for the event and get some ERT". Well, yeah. Im not an ACEr and not trying to promote for them, I just know its their event as I did look into participating but I just don't have the coin right now. Also, @Swede - check your PMs.

  14. Just found out there is a traveling carnival in town just a few blocks from where I work and they have a Zipper! (In addition to some other decent flats) They're in town til April 12th, so gonna try to get over there one night next week for a few rides. I'll report back if I don't die! LOL
  15. ^ I went on the last Sunday in June last year and we managed to do a lot without getting a Flash Pass. It was a nice day, kind of hot too, and moderately crowded but we still got on Toro more than once, and did almost everything else in the park we wanted to. Weekdays in June I can't speak of since the only weekdays I went last summer were in mid July and then mid August, both of those weekdays I got a Flash Pass (one day we *almost* didn't need it - a Wednesday in July, the other day we definitely did, a Friday in August, Bring-A-Friend Free day). Two things to consider about the last week of June 2015 @ the park: the beginning of that week is when Coaster Con 2015 will be @ the park (not sure how this will affect crowds), and Batman will likely not be running at all that week since they'll be installing the backwards trains on it to start running them July 4th.
  16. Well, I didn't take the pic but from the looks of it they are certainly cleaning it. One would hope a paint job would follow.
  17. ^ At 16, I can see how one would be too cool for yer mom jokes, but take it from a 37-yr-old (going on 13): you'll come back around.
  18. holy crap its happening. From the SFGAdv Connoisseurs FB Group.
  19. I can concur - my last trip to the park in October of 2014, we rode Toro in the morning 4xs when it was in the mid-upper 40s and the train was CRAWLING over the last few bunnyhops - definitely the slowest rides I've ever had on it.
  20. Sounds like Toro will not run (surely they would mention it in the announcement, no?), which is a huge bummer but
  21. I dunno man, I love me some Skull Mountain and easily the most underrated coaster in the park. I for one am kind of stoked about this announcement. I would definitely take an hour drive up to the park for holiday decorations, food, etc if I could get some rides on Skull Mountain. Also, we've gotten some random mild weather in December here the past few years so I could see them opening up some of the B&Ms. If anything, the off-season just got a lot shorter around these parts!
