  1. I will be at the park this morning. If I see anything I will let you all know about any changes or information. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I was genuinely happy to see them do something like that. And it wasn’t just the people in the station or the ones that were about to ride. It was everyone who stayed in line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk We were in the station when it closed at 3:45 and left right after they made the announcement that the closure was expected to be a lengthy one. Where did you get the pass? We went out the fast lane line and were one of the first people out and letting people in the queue who didn't hear the spiel know it was going to be closed for a while. I stayed in line until 420p. I was at the station and really didn’t feel like riding anything else, so I stayed. At that time they told us it wasn’t going to open but not to leave yet as we were going to get those passes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. There are 2 blocks on the brake-run. There's the more obvious one right before the station, but before that, there are 3 sets of drive wheels between the magnetic brakes that can stop the train if needed. I'm not sure why else they would be there if that wasn't the purpose. Ohhhhh I will have to look for them tomorrow. That would make sense that there would be 2 block sections there, otherwise (like you said) why would there be 3 sets of drive wheel. I must have missed that. ^^to the person on the school trip tomorrow. The ride was up today, but went down around 3p(ish) it seemed like something they could fix but it would take a long time. I hope that means it was possible to fix the problem today and will be up tomorrow. I guess we shall see! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Sounds like the park's very aware some folks are making the trek from far away solely to get a ride in on it, and don't want anyone bursting because "the ride we traveled halfway around the world to get on just closed." It's so nice of Cedar Point to be doing all these things you guys are mentioning. That's above and beyond what some other parks would probably do. I agree. I love this. From the marketing side this will help give positive reviews and curve the social media haters. Driving 10 hrs to ride SV once was all I needed bc I was aware of these problems. Now I get to enjoy this awesome park and maybe get another ride tomorrow or Wednesday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. What!! That is so cool. Really impressed with Cp doing something like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Don’t know what is going On with SV today. But it is closed for the rest of the day. They gave us exit line passes and 50% off admission ticket. Very surprised they gave us these but it was extremely nice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I believe it happens exactly as you state - if something gets held up at the station, train 3 will stop at the MCBR. Interesting. That would work but very interesting. Then again, there is so much time to load a train that there shouldn’t be a problem (obviously, or CP would have figured something else out). Thank you for the reply. 9. Just wanted to add to the comments of SV. I drove from williamburg this morning to ride SV. I know thousands of other people have said it, but that was an insane ride. I have never walked off a ride having to process what I just rode. Like others have said this ride lives up to the hype and then some. I do have a question for anyone that knows, with the final brake run being so short, how can they properly operate three trains? Maybe I am missing a block section but it seems if anything happens in the station and the brake run gets backed up, it would cause train 3 to stop on the MCBR. If you don’t mind explaining that would be great. Edit: I guess the final brake run looks super short, but maybe it isn’t and it would be able to handle two trains. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. All that would change is the park name. Still would be the “most beautiful park”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I am so happy to see people on this forum not fall in the category that the only rides at CP are coasters. I have been waiting (not really counting on it) for a log flume to come back. With CPs new motto they are focusing on being a vacation destination for everyone. From high thrills seekers to kids that want to see snoopy and the gang and even the people that want to sit back and relax. They don’t care about this fabricated “20”. They care about a well rounded park (profit) and they will continue to work on that for the foreseeable future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Of course they care about a profit first. They are a business. But if they can advertise that they have 20 roller coasters and not just adding kiddie coasters to get to that mark, right Six Flags Magic Mountain, I think this goes a long way in part of their plan to be a profitable park. It is one heck of a marketing plan and a big part of their overall plan. Just like that current marketing plan has "most coasters over 200 feet tall" . You take out Wicked Twister that impacts that. I don't think it is going anywhere to be frank. The years where CP gets a new coaster drives the excitement of public. Now not to turn this into an economics or business class, you have to weight it against cost of the coaster. But the years where they don't add a coaster, it doesn't drive as much interest or traffic, but their cost is down. You have to pick the right years to add them driven by the other cedar fair parks and the economy as a whole. They will get to 20 at some point. They will do something big for their 150th year of operation. I saw something interesting where they discussed building a pier/boardwalk for the 150th and part of that could include a coaster. I think the most likely coasters over the next 5 years for this park include a wooden coaster, a flyer, and family suspended coaster. Will they add all 3 in the next 5 years, I am guessing not. That was very insightful. Thank you for this post. I get what you are saying about the coaster does drive traffic but also costs more and thus one has to play this “balancing” act to make sure they are making the highest profit. As for the 20 number, like you said, they will hit it and it will not be by adding small kiddie coasters. As for this wicked twister debate, I agree that it won’t be leaving soon for the fact of the 200’ mark. I never thought about them adding a pier and having rides on it. That would be a major flash back of CP history, which they have been doing for some time now. I know it was discussed many years ago as an idea, but now thinking about it, it could be a strong possibility for the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Finger crossed that they would have it all sorted out by then. But who knows. I am glad they are keeping us informed and being as transparent as possible. Greatly appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Well They did just announce that SV will open tomorrow. I wonder how many train op it will be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Ok, darn. For the record I’m not doubting what you’re saying. In fact, I agree with you having also worked for the company and doing the same thing you’ve done, talking to the right people. I’ve just always had an assumption as to the ranking of the parks: which ones are making money, breaking even, and losing money. Getting back to the subject of Busch Gardens Williamsburg I hope if they move forward with Sesame Place 2 that they don’t stop adding capital investments to the main park. Typically my wife and I won’t revisit a park until they have added a few larger rides but Busch Gardens Williamsburg is one of the parks that we will visit after each one. Additionally from what a few of you have said we missed couple good spots but it may have been because we were very “focused” on the food and wine event haha Oh I know. I was just being clearer. Well I am excited for the future of BGW. Rumor has it that Spain will be the next area and the 315ft “attraction” that has been approved (according to someone that “claims” to seen the plan) seems to be a Coaster. I have my doubts but we shall see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Hmm... I’ve gone through their quarterly reports before but maybe I’m missing the part where it says each parks attendance and profitability No you are correct. They will give you only a general overview. Where I am getting the info about BG parks is from working at them and asking the correct people these questions. BG makes a crap ton of money, and (without paper proof) the general consensus is that BG makes the money for SeaWorld. The quarter/annual reports show that SeaWorld is not doing great. Thus backing the internal statements. This is also backed by the fact that when Merlin Ent stated publicly they were interested in purchasing BG parks. The crazy thing is, that was not just a statement. Talks were had, but ultimately SeaWorld will not sale BG parks at this time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Do you have anything that can show that? I’ve always been curious as to how the Seaworld / Busch parks rank amongst themselves with attendance and profitability. Look at their quarter results. Also, working at the Busch parks and asking these questions, they have been upfront about Busch parks make them (SeasWorld) the money. But speaking about anything to “show” this, simply the quarter results and annual reports. I would link to them, but I can get it to work via phone. Edit: I also wanted to add a personal thought: if they (SeaWorld) continues the “restructuring” and it is successful, then I believe they will ultimately succeed. But if not then we know what that entails. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. From everything I have heard and the research I have done. The BG parks are the only ones making money for SeaWorld Ent. Which makes sense when Merlin Ent. Stated they wanted to purchased BG parks and SeaWorld declined. I can’t 100% confirm but that is my thoughts on the issues of SeaWorld’s financial issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I'll never tire of this typo. "Battle for Erie" would make more sense at Cedar Point. Battle for Eire is BGW's new addition. Well. My phone sucks. Stupid autocorrect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. nice. So the “official” opening maybe on Friday the 13th. Nice! How did you like it, overall? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Just wanted to put this out there, the audience of the last show of Celtic Fyre was able to ride the new ride, Battle for Erie. Opening should be very soon, in fact i would assume it would open next weekend. Edit: Rumor has it that the new ride, “Battle for Erie” will open this Friday, April 13th. Also, if you didn’t know, the park will be open April 16th (a Monday) that originally wasn’t on the calendar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. ^thank you Rob! Also I agree. Don't know what is more exciting. Less hate or new rides!? (Thank you moderators.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. That POV looked solid. Can't wait to ride it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
