  1. I agree, maybe it will inspire some unsuspecting little one to read the original stories and see how gritty and screwed up they were, pre-Disney sanitizing.
  2. I didn't even ride the new Imagination because I heard it was a suckfest. I'm all for change and evolution, it just seemed the park shrunk and there was a lot less to do. I agree that Epcot is the only park of it's kind and it is a breath of fresh air in a world of Six Flags (fill in the blank). I was just struck by it because it was like seeing a friend after 20 years and realizing they haven't aged well. Maybe they want people to shop and eat more in World Showcase? Because that's what I'm going to do! Mission:Space was a favorite in our group (not with me, it made me a little ill) and the warnings actually ramped up the anticipation (I know there are legal reasons for all of the warnings, but my brother has NEVER turned to me and said "do you think we should ride this? It sounds crazy!!"). Test Track was aesthetically impressive with the Tron-type sets but I think my expectations exceeded the ride itself. Although designing the car was a nice touch. Ultimately I've been downgraded from an Epcot fangirl to a "Epcot's an afternoon half-day park with a few stops along the way to dinner in World Showcase and Illuminations" visitor.
  3. I went to Epcot for the first time since 1993 and it was disappointing. I remember loving all of the attractions and having a great time there as a kid. It seems like Disney has taken out many of the best rides that I remember and not replaced them. Soarin' was okay, Mission:Space and Test Track were also mildly entertaining but Future World seemed a little short on substance. I did enjoy World Showcase though and the Moroccan restaurant there was beyond good. I think a lost Epcot land would be the perfect answer!
  4. Hello everybody! My name is Jessica and I've come off a theme park hiatus that lasted through most of my 20s with a family trip to WDW this past summer with my niece as the excuse. I remembered how much I loved going to parks, both theme and amusement (except the food, but WDW had surprising good food). I live in the Baltimore area and I've been to most all of the theme parks in the Mid-Atlantic region as well as those in Texas and some in the Midwest & South because of band trips. My home park is Six Flags America and my favorite park in the area is Busch Gardens Williamsburg. It's so beautiful and the Loch Ness Monster was my favorite coaster when I was a kid. My number one park to get to in the near future is Tokyo Disney, especially DisneySea, and I'm looking forward to my first TPR trip. Hopefully it will be Mini New Hotness in 2014 depending on the funds. I crunch numbers to pay the bills and play French Horn and knit to keep my sanity. The Pikachu is my spirit animal.
  5. Kings Dominion for Halloween Haunt. I love this time of year!
  6. Has anyone been to the SFA Halloween event? I'm on the fence about going so any feedback would be great. Are there any standouts in the region that I should travel to instead?
  7. I'm 31, and the first coaster I remember is the Kiddie coaster at Joyland in Lubbock, TX. My first "big" coaster was the Rebel Yell at Kings Dominion. I was 8 years old, and I remember my Dad made a big deal about it because he loves coasters too and my Mom won't ride them!
  8. Space Mountain, for the first time in 20 years! My trip to Walt Disney World in August rekindled my love of theme parks.
