  1. I'm surprised, considering how much and how fast it spins. I haven't ridden this yet but I'm betting I'll prefer X2's slower/fewer/controlled spins.
  2. Looks like the former SFKK crew or their siblings are back. And with all the basketballs, the same guests as well. That's too bad since I heard good things when they opened last year. SFKK operations were by far the worst in the chain. I guess the new trains will be like these: https://thethemeparkplace.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/arkham_asylum_press_025232e177252812529.jpg
  3. ^ Is the annoying ("plus-sized") girl still working the control panel and mic, singing "She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain" and all kinds of other annoying songs over and over, and saying whatever other odd thoughts come to her mind, plus picking out people (read: men) to make fun of?
  4. I hope Shockwave does stay. It's a great nostalgia coaster yet without banging your head like an Arrow. And it reminds me of riding my first "non-traditional" (before any other standup, suspended, etc) coaster, King Cobra, in the late 80's. It was a big deal.
  5. Screamscape. And I'll bet dollars to donuts that Screamscape got it from enthusiasts crossing their fingers and wishing. Yea I know the screamcape guy likes to make things up. I was just answering schotj's question. He doesn't make things up, at least not often (and when he does, he makes it known, ie. "What if..."). He posts rumors that are sent to him (and usually states this), which is what most of his readers would prefer, vs. him trying to decide which rumors to post and which not to.
  6. Having just done a full Texas trip last summer, I think you can do it all in fewer days. Though it depends on if you plan to do many attractions at each park, or mainly just the coasters. FYI, SWT is more like a half day park. I enjoyed driving around Texas, with the scenery and 80-85MPH speed limits.
  7. It seems like Air Race would make a lot of people sick.
  8. Good to see the Hurricane was saved, as it went to Race City in Panama City Beach FL. http://rcdb.com/12395.htm Unfortunately this place gets terrible reviews. I plan to hit all the coasters in NTC the 2nd week of June. According to coasterbill, I should avoid Long Island (and thus Manhattan I assume) on a weekend? Not sure if I'll be driving or parking somewhere and taking trains.
  9. Can someone answer this question? I've been wondering about this for a while too. Last I heard it was still in storage. I could be wrong though, even that was awhile ago. As for a new coaster, I would like something else besides a B&M to shake it up. That being said, I'd accept a launched wing coaster from them. FYI (and you probably know), there's a thread on Beto Carrero World: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1199605 Nothing reported since August 2013.
  10. There's a reason for that. They're reliable, great family coasters that are a hell of a lot of fun. It's hard to ride one without smiling/laughing the whole duration of the ride. Oh, certainly. I just meant there are better choices I would pick for my home park, considering I could go to so many places to ride a spinner. Makes visiting the other parks more worthwhile too.
  11. The Gerstlauer spinning coasters are everywhere. I think a Premier (Sky Rocket?) like Sky Rocket at Kennywood, Chance Hyper GT-X (Lightning Run at KK), or Mack launched (Manta at Sea World San Diego) would be a good choice for them.
  12. That was answered in February. You took part in the conversation. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1556806#p1556806
  13. Think it'll be that busy every Saturday, or not until the summer season? Do many people go just because it's opening day?
  14. I was figuring most people waited until October to go to the Halloween events, and that being open until 1AM, lines would be short later in the night and I could get a bunch of rides. I don't even care the slightest about the Halloween stuff.
  15. ^ If it's that busy on Saturday, does that mean the lines are that long, or is a lot of that crowd doing the haunted houses? Might be best to wait until spring. When we called, they said the scare actors are everywhere.
  16. So it's either not so busy, "like a weekday in July", or "Fastlane is a must" busy. Dumb question, I'm not from the area so Saturday is the only day I could go to KI. My girlfriend has a heart condition, so getting scared by someone isn't good. Would there be any way to go but avoid the scare actors messing with her?
  17. Some here get made if you complain about colors, but hey, I don't like the orange either. It's too bad they couldn't have gotten rid of the horse collars. I could always position myself to avoid getting racked with the seat, but you couldn't avoid the head banging OTSR's, and those haven't changed. Hopefully the animation isn't accurate there. Otherwise I think the conversion is a good decision. I always skipped Mantis, but maybe won't now. This should shorten lines a bit for other coasters too. I find it odd that some people won't count this as a new coaster credit, even though it's a completely different riding experience now, yet they might count all the 100% identical Batman's for example, or the same coaster moved to another park.
  18. I would think you could get most everything done in one day on a mid week day in late September.
  19. I haven't ridden Outlaw Run yet, but I did ride NTG and IRat a day apart, and NTG seemed a little tame compared to IR. And Prowler should be on the list way before Shoulder Bash should. Skyrush and I305 are better than any of the B&M Hypers on the list (excluding Leviathan - haven't ridden). I'm also wondering, unless there's trash lying around, how much cleaner can one park really be than another? Seems like a category just to have one more park pay to be on the list. HW is no cleaner than most of the other mid-large parks.
  20. Has anyone heard any more about X-Coaster and if it'll be closed/removed after this season?
  21. What if I didn't get there until late afternoon/early evening and stayed until midnight?
  22. I'm trying to decide whether to go to KI on the 4th or the 5th. Hard decision considering the 5th, normally not too crowded from what I hear, is a Saturday. What do you think? Both equally slammed?
  23. Saturday's during Fright Fest are busy (as long as it doesn't rain), it will start off this weekend not real busy and then increase each weekend in October usually peaking on what this year will be the 4th or 5th Saturday (which will probably be in the top 5 attended days of the season, they usually are), but the majority of the attendance comes at night and not a Noon when the park opens, so if you go on a Saturday come early or expect large crowds. Thanks. That's what I was thinking. Although someone told me it's busiest the first and last weekends.
  24. Are Saturdays at SFSTL's during Fright Fest busy? If so, which of the remaining Saturdays of this season do you think will be the least busy? I'm trying to decide which one to visit on. I don't care about any of the halloween things. We just want to ride rides (incl. all the coasters). My first visit.

    La Ronde

About how much time would I need this Sunday the 16th to ride every coaster? I was thinking about going to Pays des Marveilles beforehand, which opens at 10, so if I did, would probably get to La Ronde about 11:30-12. Or would I need the whole 10AM-8PM? Will I likely need a flash pass, and if I get there around noon, will they likely still be available? I've read the operations are terrible. Are there any rides that are usually more/less busy early/late in the day? If I did get there at noon, should I save the lower capacity coasters for later in the day? Is there any problem with driving to the park? If taking the subway and bus, how long would that take? Is the car safer (with everything in it) at the subway station or at the park?
