  1. Being the complete chicken I am, I might ride those coasters JUST FOR THE VEIW.... Wow that view is gorgeous...
  2. It's such a shame when the son dies first... ; (
  3. What's your opinion on it, if any? Does this weird you out? For some, they hear the roar or characteristic kerchunk of certain rides, but then no screaming following... I don't know why, but to me there's almost something ominous about seeing a ride going empty. Last time I was at KBF I saw Riptide going empty. It looked SO WEIRD seeing the gondola makes its flips empty, the ground still shaking violently with each gondola rotation... Anyway, what's your take on this, ladies and gems?
  4. The ride is NOT going to be relocated to another park. The end.
  5. That's the most beautiful and most deeply moving photo ever! You should get out more often then. I was being sadistically sarcastic.... tearing that ride down is the greatest thing to happen since... the invention of the lap bar
  6. That's the most beautiful and most deeply moving photo ever!
  7. I'm surprised no one mentioned a mack water coaster...
  8. I've had one where there was a subway/el train themed coaster... it was an enclosed launcher with six car-trains, each car seating six people, save for the front car (which sat four with a convincing subway facade taking up the other "seats") So, about 34 people a train. The track appeared to cave in and everything appearing to crumble (In the dream, these were special FX) and with the blast of a horn, the train launched to about 45 to 50 MPH. The launch was going up (Think XLR8R's launch angle") with a sharp drop after the launch--creating ejector airtime-- then into a series of twists and near'misses with concrete pillars and landmarks... Also the track banked "the wrong way" in may parts, fake "sparks" coming from the train with every turn. There was a soundtrack as well--it sounded like something from an 80's cop chase scene. . . . Lots of lateral forces and ejector airtime. The block sections were stacked really think like a disney large coaster (Think california screamin') Lots of loud noises and such, even a vertical drop after another lift hill... The ride had what I call hugging lap bars, they were individual lap bars but they were RALLY padded and very thick. Man, what a ride... Another dream I had was Ghostrider stalling at the hill before the brakes, with the rollback things. "Clickclickclick KERCHUNK" People were screaming and panicking as if people died (But no one did, it was just a stall... )
  9. My guess is because that "boring log flume" is a classic attraction, one of the FIRST REAL RIDES opened at KBF. You'd really want them to get rid of a piece of history? ...
  10. Why not forgo the steel altogether and build an old-school boardwalk-style woodie, clad in boardwalk white and blue?
  11. Whatever goes in its place, if it's a honkin' big coaster, I wonder how they'll deal with possible noise levels. Homes and surrounding areas did hear that awful RUMBLE every five minutes.... I know that B&M has silenced some rides, but are there any silenced intamins? Edit: Who won't miss the water? Dude, I swear that stuff's worse than any science fictional corrosive acid. Plus that stuff stank to high heaven!!!
  12. Oh it's so, and many of us have already thrown a "Good Riddance!" Party.
  13. Source: MiceChat.com Best. News. EVER. I HATED that ride, plus it was a nightmare to work. edit: When there were breezes, the water would flow either toward boomerang (The farthest recorded was fiesta village) or toward western... free carwash!
  14. About five years ago I got on big thunder mountain railroad (DLR)... that ride scares the mess out of me... after the accidents. The ride was kinda fun! It was my second time on so I knew what to expect... What I didn't count on was the ride feeling like I was riding a jackhammer. WOW. Then after lift 3 we went into that turn... we could hear what sounded like a motorcycle engine. It got faster as we raced around the turn and slower as we reached the "brakes" and in to the final turn. It sounded like the wheels... on the right side. I was so scared for my life right then. I thought "Oh no... not here and now?!!"
  15. Wow, racers looks awesome. I'm looking forward to riding that. And fast rides terrify me... to no end. This will be interesting!
  16. They got rid of the ice cream parlor at DCA....?
  17. I just found out I'm a laugher. Even if I'm terrified. When I get scared I go silent...
  18. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. (Haters 'gonna hate.) It's a great ride, don't get me wrong, but really, who says the full name? Most people just call it "Thunder Mountain"... That's even more syllables than Hollywood rip Ride Rockit! It's a mouthful. So what, it really looks like a train, but still!
  19. Ooooh, that looks nice. I can scarcely wait until the new parts open!
  20. ^ I heard that it's super nice. One of the things KBF does well is food.... well.... at least in the restaurant. As far as big news... Let's hope they rip out that horrible smelly stinky plunge! Hell, replace it with a park green for all I care!
  21. Yes! I don't care if they have to rebuild the track (which they might). I don't even care anymore if they don't use the cute retro music! I just want my peoplemover back...
