Coasting For Kids to benefit Give Kids The World is coming to Busch Gardens on March 23rd. More details (ERT, schedules, etc.) to come. "Give Kids The World Village is an 84-acre, nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides weeklong, cost-free vacations to children with critical illnesses and their families. The Village and its community partners provide children and their families accommodations in fully-furnished villas, transportation, tickets to theme parks, meals, daily entertainment and much more. Each year 27,000 children in the United States are diagnosed with a critical illness. Half of all children eligible for a wish through a partnering wish-granting organization choose to visit Central Florida and its collection of theme parks and other attractions. Our goal, quite simply, is to provide everything these deserving families need to make their trip the vacation of a lifetime. Since 1986, more than 165,000 children and families have had their dreams fulfilled in a whimsical Village unlike any other place on earth." I have had the pleasure of fundraising for and volunteering at The Village in the past. This is a world-class charity with a world-class mission. To support my personal mission of sending a family to The Village: http://support.gktw.org/site/TR/Events/General?px=1398432&pg=personal&fr_id=1872 To sign-up to participate in the event: http://support.gktw.org/site/TR?fr_id=1872&pg=entry

Fun Spot America Discussion Thread

Stopping through Orlando in a few weeks. Will have a chance to get 1 ride on each Fun Spot coaster. Any input on where to sit for each coaster? Front? Middle? Back? -

I know we are still a ways away... But, when should we expect an announcement about an opening date for this coaster? I am guessing they are still aiming for opening day? -

Has anyone heard if this coaster is supposed to be operational for opening weekend? I know it is a long way out, just curious... -

Went to Kings Dominion for about 4 hours this (Sunday) morning...a few notes. 1.) Pass-members can get into the back of the park 30 minutes early (entrance moved to Dominator gate). 2.) Had 4 rides on I305 and 1 on Volcano by 10:35am this morning (park "opened" at 10:30am). 3.) Candy Apples (lots of them!), Singing Mushrooms and Floral Clock look GREAT! 4.) Paint on Anaconda and Rebel Yell (also new train logo and running lights) look GREAT! 5.) Park looked very clean, flowers were nice and the fountains looked pretty good. 6.) Ate a piece of pizza (same), panini (good) and caramel cake (good). 7.) Season souvenir cup was $10 with a season pass (99-cent refills)...cup was actually MADE IN AMERICA...shocking!! 8.) Finally walked through Dinosaurs Alive (FREE). 9.) The Crypt and Hurler were not open. 10.) The collectible pins are NOT available yet, another 2-3 weeks. If anyone has any other questions...let me know. -

It looks like there will be "passholder ERT" on I305 all year starting 30 minutes before opening. Does anyone know where to go to enter the back of the park to get to this? -

Let us (wife and I) know if you want to meet up. Scott -
Looking for some advice on a visit next Saturday (9/28). 1.) How long is the usual wait these days for the Safari Adventure? Is this something we should do first? 2.) We have never been to SFGAdv for Fright Fest. Which mazes are a MUST do? Which can be skipped? 3.) Do some of the mazes open earlier than others? 4.) Are any of the shows worth seeing? If so, do any run during the day? Thanks! I know time will be limited, want to be prepared!

When does Kings Dominion (Cedar Fair) start offering the rest of 2013 free with a 2014 season pass purchase? September? -
It is nice to hear that the TPR community welcomed you guys as great as they did us yesterday at Kings Dominion. We came away extremely impressed with every single member that was part of Team TPR. We had FUN too. It was nice meeting you. Thanks for welcoming us. Yeah, I was pretty tired by the end. Something about I305 though...it takes the tiredness away...if only for 3 minutes at a time. It was nice meeting you, we are from the Williamsburg area...not too far from you, so I am sure we will see you around sometime soon. It was nice meeting you. We lost count of laps... Congrats on your fundraising. I agree, it was awesome that they had a family there. It was nice meeting you, hope you have a safe trip back. I kinda feel like I know where you are coming from. It would have been fun to be in a bit larger group...as long as we could still get rides together. However, I also like that KD lets everyone ride multiple coasters. I also like your idea of a big "starting" ride with everyone. This would also be good for the park (IMO) to get pictures...instead of trying to do it quickly after lunch. 100% agree on some of the ride operators not being enthusiastic (or anything, at all)...but the I305 crew was great. We played by the rules the entire day, so it seems like everyone with TPR did...which is great to see. It was nice to meet you.

My fiance and I attended the event at Kings Dominion, a few thoughts: 1.) This was our first time "Coasting For Kids" and it was a wonderful experience. I liked the way Kings Dominion ran the event. It was pretty laid back, but it worked out pretty well. I will say that some of the ride crews were better (I305 was the best) than others...but overall it was great. It was also nice that they had a family to share their story about their time at the Village. We will certainly be back next year. 2.) I would also like to take a quick second to thank Cedar Fair for all they do for this event. 3.) Last, but certainly not least I would like to thank the TPR members that welcomed us. Ashley and I love traveling all over to ride coasters, but this was our first "event" with any sort of forum/club. I can't speak highly enough about how nice everyone was to us "strangers". It was awesome to be able to spend a day with people who shared our passion for coasters. We came away extremely impressed with TPR and we look forward to future events/trips. So thanks everyone!

Speaking of which...how does it work? Split into groups? How do the rides work? Thanks for the help! -
Of course I will hold my final judgement until I am able to ride. However, my initial thoughts after watching the POV...what happened? I thought this thing was "billed" as an experience in Antarctica with real Penguins? With really cold temps, live Penguins throughout...like you were actually there? Theming (outside) looks beautiful, Penguin habitat looks amazing, and the ride system is fantastic. But I feel like a HUGE opportunity was missed here... In my opinion the Penguin is a special animal that doesn't need any crazy entertaining "story-line". They speak for themselves. Just give me a 99% authentic Antarctica experience with a good number of live animals (throughout the experience) on a awesome ride system and I am happy. I don't need video screens, pretty lights, etc.
