  1. I don't even get to go much but I always liked how Dollywood was tucked away in the mountains. I can handle Wild Eagle sticking out but it just seems more magical to be tucked away. I am looking forward to walking thru the log and Boom! seeing Wildwood Grove Haven't been there recently have you? Haha, Wildwood Grove is level with most of the park now so it won't be hidden from Wild Eagle, Thunderhead or any of that. Probably one reason they redid the drop and that end of thunderhead first this season, it will be very very visible and almost a part of Wildwood Grove Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  2. Not sure they will do that. The survey mentions out and back and most of the images used were out and back hypers. Probably be hard for them to wrap one around the park I'm sure they will still put a few nice elements into the ride though Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  3. From what I saw this weekend, they have a long long way to go but they might be able to pull it off! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  4. Those flight Sims are fairly expensive and very popular at most places they go. Flight of Passage still has a two hour wait most of the time. Soarin has always been very popular. I'm also sure flight Sims at other parks are popular. It would definitely be a major addition if added, at least I believe so. Especially if done right and not cheesed up with a stupid movie. It either needs to be fantasy (for Wildwood) or a nice tour of the Smokies or both. I'm not sure the Smokies have enough different to make it worthwhile though so fantasy would be nice Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  5. I think if they do it, it needs to be a true tour sim vs a cheesy movie. They can add a little fantasy for Wildwood still and be good Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  6. I don't recall one. There was the 4D Imagination Cinema that's now Dreamsong Theater (Dreamland Drive-In, My People)I believe that's what he was referring to. The second film in the 4D cinema was based on a flying contraption but wasn't a flying simulator like the survey has. It honestly didn't do well at Dollywood but a more advanced true flying sim might do better The flying sim in the survey is like flight of passage in Avatar at Disney or Soarin at Disney and I'm sure there are others at other parks but those are two of the most popular Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  7. Yeah but ones already coming to the area but two is always nice! And it would be a nicr way to compete Looks like I was wrong about the first one and it's a tour over America so tour of the Smokies would be good https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wbir.com/amp/article%3fsection=news&headline=new-flying-theater-ride-coming-to-the-island-in-pigeon-forge&contentId=51-8321a6ac-a6d9-49de-88e1-340b09c2f472 Edit: dang Tapatalk. 8. They are probably planning for both. It's been mentioned several times that Dollywood will announce their next long term investment plan soon because their last 10 plan has finished early I'd like to see both! A nice dark ride and a new coaster. A flying ride is already coming to town sometime soon (at the island I believe, or the new neighboring development) so not sure Dollywood would do that. It would be the same ride that is already announced for town so unless Dollywood just wants to compete, I would think they will do something different. I'm not a fan of walk through attractions as I feel they get old quickly As for coaster, we all know a spinning coaster is probably on the list BUT I'd love to see a true hyper at Dollywood! I like out and back styles and feel it would for great in the mountains. And Dollywood does like that "wow" effect when you see their coasters so a tall hyper would fit in. It could also be both in one ride! Indoor coaster/dark ride, this is an option on the coaster survey. But technically isn't that blazing fury and I guess you can kind of consider parts of Mystery Mine a dark ride? So I see their next one being tamer.. I'm for a shooting ride personally. 9. Yeah, that was the season pass deal they had and most of us have our tickets already for the preview but they say TBD for date and times It's possible there was another special at some time that also included tickets but I got mine during the season pass special If it opena on the 10th I'd say preview will be on the 9th Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  10. I haven't received mine but the post above mine makes it sound like some have Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  11. See I never got anything about the preview aside from my ticket haha No dates or anything, but yeah, hopefully they have a plan and I know most of the landscaping will come in ready to go Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  12. I wouldn't hold my breath on that date. I know landscaping won't take long but as of right now it's mostly still dirt. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  13. It's supposed to open in May, at least that's what most local advertising is saying. No exact date however Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  14. Who knows then. Normally all lines are open until park closes guess they wanted to close early. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  15. Not typically. If their is a long wait they might close it but most rides leave the queue open until closing and then close at closing and continue to empty the line. Was the ride still running then? Was the park slammed today like yesterday? With the snow in the mountains and cooler day I would figure crowds to be a lot smaller but if it had a 75 min wait I can see them closing the line early to help get through the crowd already inside. If the ride was closed at this time and not running, it possibly broke down and they figured it wouldn't be back before closing time Being local, this is actually the time I'm normally at the park. Close to closing Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  16. I think it'll probably be closed permanently myself but I don't believe the park has made any official statement on it yet, aside from the video I posted and that only officially says 2019. I understand the park taking it off the 2019 maps and taking signs down if it's not planned for opening this year Thing is though, as hot as it is in TN, the park should try and plan for or announce another water ride for the next part of the expansion if they do indeed close Slidewinder for good. River Rampage and Daredevil Falls both got very very backed up yesterday when it got hot and it never broke 80. A nice indoor dark ride would also do and help people escape the heat if they include AC. Not a lot of places to escape the heat at Dollywood As for the capacity issue running two trains on LR, it stacks like a beast so I'm not sure how much it truly helps. I'm sure it shaves off half a minute or something between launches but it can't be much. Plus, the normal wait from where I was (bottom of the first set of steps) is normally thirty mins with only one train. Them switching back and forth made it a two hour wait. However, flash passes didn't help this one bit and left the general line at a halt Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  17. I know Slidewinder has signs removed and is off the map BUT it hasn't been demolished.. as far as I could tell today it's fully standing, station and all.. being off the map is nothing, their maps are seasonal now. At one point last year park management said it wouldn't be closed. Has anyone announced it's 100% gone? Aside from screamscape who "verified with Dollywood" Maybe they will refurbish it. According to Ace Winter Warm-up, it is closed for 2019 but they haven't decided what to do with it. So had anyone actually heard anything else official from the park that can be backed up or is it all rumor sites like screamscape? They speak of this at 2hr and 1 min in the video Also before that, some good information on LRs issues last year.. it sounds like it boils down to train issues Overall nice day at the park today! Very busy but opperations inside were great! Trams were the biggest issue and I feel if LR would have stuck with 1 train, it's wait wouldn't be as long.. it takes them nearly 30 mins to add and remove a train! Slightly less removing. And during my wait they did this a couple times! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  18. Just passed timesaver center and they are sold out. (At least for now) Guess they do limit them, that's actually nice to know. LR changed to temporarily delayed and went down to 1 train Edit: LR would run much better if they didn't go from 1 to 2 back to 1 and so on on trains. In line now and they have swicyhed 3 times. During the switch the timesaver lines fill up and the regular line moves very slow very slow very slow. This is possibly the reason they give up with two trains from time to time. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  19. MM closed for the day but LR running two trains! 115 min wait though but good to see both running Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  20. Point still stands though, get them outta sight so they don't look lazy or understaffed. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  21. Just a warning for anyone today, F is almost full. Preferred parking is full. Tram line in F is to the road through the parking lot Be prepared for crowds 45 mins waiting on a tram. 5 full sized parked trams not running passed coming in.. come on Dollywood!! Move em to splash country or something if not enough staff. It just looks bad for the guest.. and why have at least one of your small trams running when plenty of full sized arent. Just trying to help y'all out Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  22. Haha I knew it wasn't geared towards mine we posted at the same time I believe lol I'm headed to the park Saturday so maybe it'll be up. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  23. Sounds to me like it just broke like it does at the opening of every season, especially if they are testing now. Part must have arrived! Good to hear it's testing again. Opening weekend it was testing without dummies Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  24. Why would they remove it? It's one of the most popular rides in the park, one of the most expensive in the park, why would they be testing on opening weekend if it wasn't planned to be open this year and so on. Opening weekend they did have ride ops stationed like it was about to open and so on. The ride is not that old and not really in the way of anything with all the land opened up. yeah I guess I shouldn't say 100% but 99.9% sure it isn't being removed Plus, I want to be clear, the lady that mentioned this was a janitor or something for that area. It wasn't a ride op or anyone like that. She was cleaning the bathrooms right beside MM. Basically if it was that widely know at Dollywood, we would have heard by now. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
  25. Be careful asking ride OPs or Dollywood employees. A lot of times, are just as informed as we are meaning not at all. Last Sunday there were no OPs around but one of my walks past there was a Dollywood employee looking at the ride. Another guest asked her what was wrong and she simply replied "it's being replaced because of the new area" We all know this is 100% false but it's ashame that dwood employees are also left in the dark and that helps spawn these rumors Like mentioned earlier, this is nothing out of the ordinary for MM. It happens almost every year haha. I'd imagine there is no activity because they are waiting on parts so no reason to test if they know they issue BUT I do hate that crap when places remove honest comments.. that's shady, very shady if true Dollywood. Don't hide it!!! Sent from my ONEPLUS A6003 using Tapatalk
