  1. Next year? why wait... haul the thing up now.
  2. yeah... makes sense, we are Texas' 'Hand Me Down' Park
  3. I thought the same, but Ninja's layout is trash compared to Blue Hawk. Cheaper yes ... Waste of money and time yes ... Bad decision by SF Corp yes.
  4. The Ninja is way overdue to get the boot... and SFSTL doesn't seem to be expanding from its current boundaries. Any new coaster will take the place of the Ninja or Tidal Wave. Just my hunch
  5. So I got this feeling that the Ninja will be replaced with a Wonder Woman Lasso Coaster (SF Fiesta). Just a hunch, just seems like the caliber type of coaster SFSTL would get - Very Cool but not something ground or record breaking. Just the right size for our park and it would fit in the Ninja's footprint nicely
  6. Agreed... My guess all new development will happen on the East Side of the Park, Tidal Wave and down toward Hurricane Harbor.
  7. It would be awesome if they installed the new 180 turnaround in a tunnel, one element that SFSTL does not have ... well I guess except the mine train.
  8. Anyone have pics of the Boss construction?
  9. It would be cool if they enclosed the final 180 in a Tunnel. I think that would make everyone happy.
  10. Thanks for the Info... a shame they had to neuter The Boss. Most Wooden Coasters get neutered in way way or another as time goes by.
  11. Sounds good, thanks for the info! Any pics of the construction? it would just be cool to see that's all, no speculation from them
  12. I was wondering the same thing, lol. If I had to guess (this is purely speculation) the ride would at the most lose 100 ft. It might be a bit more than that but surely not much. Which would drop the length to 4,951 ft. Boss is currently the 7th longest woodie at 5,051ft. and the 8th longest is 4,817 ft. So I think Boss will still be sitting comfortably at number seven for at least a few more years. As to tweaking the profile to be more exciting, I'm not sure how well the trains would take something like an over bank turn or a hill in the middle of a turn. That just sounds like something else for those trains to ruin. A proper overbank shouldn't be too strenuous. I think these trains have already been used on in a hill in a turn too but I can't remember the layouts of the two other Gerstlauer-equipped rides I've been on well enough to cite it. Is this just a rumor? ...removing the dbl helix.
  13. I am surprised you aren't Jones'n for a hyper giga Mule-Go-Round! now that's what I'm talking about!
  14. Considering the recent bankruptcy, I have to agree with corporate leadership. The park is doing fine as-is. They're offering a great value while turning a profit. Not to mention some say their financials have red flags now too. It is to be expected for them to be in a lower expenditure mode. they have been in lower expenditure mode for awhile in STL, with the Justice League as a possible exception. ...maybe 18 years since the Boss
  15. Nice Work! It's okay to dream, as long as you're not disappointed each year around the end of August.
  16. I don't think Park President's really have that much influence on what new attractions a park gets. SFSTL will always be SFSTL no matter who's in charge.
  17. That's Iron Rattler! Friggin unbelievable! SFSTL has now resorted to misrepresenting it's rides?! It is not the Coaster you think it is ... It's The Boss, repeat... It's The Boss, It's The Boss
  18. Only us old-timers and enthusiasts would hate it... Honestly I am at the point that any new Steel at our park is Welcome.
  19. At some point, SFStL is going to get a new coaster. It probably won't be a $20 million B&M (SF isn't putting those in any of their parks right now, the last being X-Flight in 2012), but it will be something like a S&S Free Spin or the RMC Raptor. SFFT is also in a smaller market and is not a "destination park" but it has gotten both of these coasters in a 3 year period. The cost of these coasters is probably similar to the JL:BFM ride and SF was willing to make that kind of investment at SFStL. So if SFStL doesn't get a new coaster announced tomorrow, then it will probably get the Free Spin or Raptor in 2019 or 2020. I think it is more of a possibility to get a Large Scale Coaster transplant rather than a brand new Installation. That would satisfy a big budget coaster at a low cost.
  20. Ninja's Shelf Life is over and has been over for many years now. Time for something new, modern, larger, etc. and so forth.
  21. This talk about new trains and refurbishing the Ninja is making me ill.
