Because they can? They expect to pass the 700,000 mark this season but with X-Flight out and alot of other unimproved things, they won't. Be sure to catch a ride on it this season because this may be the last season that Steel Venom is there. -

I'm still skeptical. Why wouldn't they announce that they were removing it when they announced X-Flights removal? Also, I would assume that if they were to remove it, they would of taken it off the site a while ago. It looks bad on the parks part to have a ride on the site that isn't there when you go there... -

They just got Patriot. I don't think they will see a major coaster for another 3-5 years. BTW, Dominator is one of the rides that WONT be leaving. Along with VIllain. If the park is staying in shape, then they will keep those two. One, they are currently the most popular rides in the park and it fits the park nicely. Two, Steel Venom will be running this season at GL. It was confirmed a few months ago that it was being repaired and will be running for the 07 season. -

I don't see it surviving. Why pay 26 bucks to ride 8 coasters and two thrill rides in an hour when you can drive 2 hours and pay about 5 bucks more but get alot more for your dollar(KENNYWOOD). Even little Waldameer is expanding. Geauga Lake will never be what it used to be and will probably be called WildWater Kingdom: Cedar Fairs best waterpark. -
I liked Cedar Points bathrooms...they had the nice air dryers...I never experienced a bad bathroom at an amusement park...though I can't say much about my schools bathroom.

My friend lost her coaster virginity!
RollerC replied to RollerC's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, she was sreaming and having a coastergasm on it. -
Me and my friend Laura headed to Kennywood this past summer around 7pm and it was dark so you couldn't see much of the coasters. She has never ridden one and was afraid. The first ride we headed too was Phantoms. I convinced her it was just like the Double Loop at Geauga Lake and it only went 45 mph. She believed me and we waited in line. Her heart started racing when we were taking the slow treck up the lift hill(I could tell...she was clamping on my arm like there was no tomorrow!). Then he vered left(or right...i'm bad with direction) and sped down the track. I was felt sorry for her because I failed to mention the second drop and the bunny hops(which by far beat any other bunny hop on any coasters) but in the end, she loved it. I thought she was crying but she cleared her eyes and started screaming how fun it was and how she wanted to ride some more. So next, we headed to Thunderbolt...and well...you know . In the end, I have a new coaster buddy and I have someone that is willing to take long trips with me in the summer to other parks. That is how my friend lost her coaster viriginty. Yea I know its a late story but I just rememberd it after having a talk about this summer with her.

Well first of all, all of the CF parks (pre Paramount) except for Valleyfair and Worlds of Fun were built before themeing in amusement parks became widely used after the construction of Disneyland. Only SFNE comes into mind as a Six Flags park built before the 1960s. In fact, Knotts was the first "theme park," and revolutionized themeing in the industry. Yes some of this themeing has been lost, but Knotts (and WoF) definatly have much more superior themeing to any Six Flags parks. As for the other parks, they don't have general themed areas as newer parks do because parks weren't as "planned out" back then. However there are a few of great themed areas even in the older parks. Frontier Town and Frontier Trail in Cedar Point is probabily one of the most beautiful places for a park anywhere. Secondally, does more themeing really make that big of a difference? I enjoy a ride on the Magnum and its beautiful lakeside setting much more than the themeing of the Batman inverts, with their dirty (some things that are supposed to be dirty and others that just are dirt) stations and a few old junked up police cars. Like I said before as long as I find the park clean and well landscaped, I don't have much of a problem. I so agree with you. I loved Frontier Trail so much. It was like being out of the park(except for MF) and it reminded me so much of Idlewild. I also liked the theming by Skyhawk. -

I sincerely doubt that Cedar Point is well known in Chicago. But, yeah it's obviously well known in Michigan, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. However, Ohio CP fanboys are highly obnoxious. I wouldn't put it doubt that. I mean Cedar Point in the last few years has been marketing as far as the Carolinas and thats alot farther than Illonios. -

Dude, you have no idea how much I had to deal with this growing up. All you'd ever hear from people is "King's Island sucks. Cedar Point r00lz d00d." When you ask those people why CP didn't bother to put airtime hills on their supposedly awesome hypercoaster they usually say something like, "But Millennium Force goes really fast! And it's smooth!" The really sad thing is there are many parks that are a fairly easy drive from Ohio: Indiana Beach SFGAm Holiday World Dollywood Silver Dollar City/Celebration City Hershey Kennywood etc. Most Cincinnati people have never even heard of Holiday World, even though you can get there more quickly than you can get to Cedar Point. But you can bet any amount of money that almost everyone in Cincy knows Cedar Point. Actually ask anyone in within a days drive from Cedar Point and they will know what it is. My cousins from the Pittsburgh area even know what it is. -

It was the star attraction. Sure Batman KnightFlight is a great ride, but X-Flight was amazing. In the Whacked-out rumor category: When stopping at the speedway station across from GL, the attendant said they were putting in a Cracker Barrel restaurant where X-Flight used to be. I don't see this happening, but i thought i'd throw it out there. I'm pretty sure that its going back to a parking lot. -

I doubt X-FLight was in their plans seeing as they gave it to Six Flags after all of the problems Stealh had. -

Because CF is stating that they are trying to get more people to GL yet they take out the parks star attraction and send it to a park which they bought no less than 5 months ago...it's like them taking out TTD and sending it to PGA. -
Oh, I see, well he has it placed a bit too high http://www.rcdb.com/ig1574.htm?picture=41

It's a good attempt but as other have pointed out, its kinda flawed. First, there is no support that spans from the two towers under the tophat: http://www.rcdb.com/ig1574.htm?picture=5 and the layout is spread out a little bit in your design http://www.rcdb.com/ig1574.htm?picture=14.
