  1. I noticed the shin bars on Goliath/Medusa are different than Outlaw Runs. Seems there is a cut out on Goliath/Medusas and Outlaws just has a bar which looks more painful. Anyone know the reason as to why theres a difference, or did they update Outlaws with the cutout?
  2. Why didn't they just close it down and gain the extra 2 months to start converting it (if indeed that's what they're doing with the ride)? The reason probably is so everyone gets a final farewell, but I think people would welcome the ride opening on time, or even early as opposed to being delayed which seems to be a trend with Six Flags lately.
  3. ^^ I agree with anyone that says Full Throttle is the funnest and best ride at the park. I'd say Tatsu would be 2nd. 3rd I'd give a slight nod to Apocolypse and not far behind in 4th I'd say Superman Escape From Krypton. X2 is too rough and jerky to really be enjoyable.
  4. Given Centurion and Fury 325 are indeed for Carowinds and Knotts I am willing to bet since they trademarked Centurion first that will go to the park opening up their new coaster first (given one is in 2015 and the other in 2016). Rumors are Carowinds in 2015 and Knotts is 2016 also Knotts rumor was a 325ft giga so that'd make sense if indeed thats what they get.
  5. So apparently Cedar Fair now owns the rights to the name Fury 325. With them also owning the name for Centurion and the rumors saying Centurion was for Carowinds or Knotts what do you guys think is for which park? This is of course given both parks are still receiving coasters in the next 2 years. I'm thinking whichever park opens their coaster in 2015 (given the other opens in 2016) will get Centurion since that was trademarked first. I'm also hoping Knotts spilled the beans on the Boardwalk family ride to take away focus and surprise us with the addition of a new coaster as well.
  6. Pictures on Knotts Networks FB page showing activity seen inside the old KOD building. Willing to bet no removal of Boomerang and the indoor El Loco .
  7. I love all the haters on Screamscape. I am the first to admit there are rumors that were posted that weren't accurate (SFGAM saying RMC for Iron Eagle and it ended up being a brand new coaster, Knotts getting a giga when it ended up being the new Boardwalk, yet still claims this may come in 2016), but recently he's posted a lot (AGAIN NOT ALL) correct info. Posted about Banshee at KI over a year ago, posted about Iron Colossus over a year ago (given that's what they do with it, but all signs point to that) among other rides he's posted spot on. I'm not saying its a 100% reliable source, cause it's not, BUT its a good source for information.
  8. So he said this in regards for the next ride, and someone else hinted the next ride would be in the Boardwalk area?
  9. I would LOVE for them to remove Boomerang, the Skytower and move Riptide/Wipeout. That would be enough room for a coaster maybe either a Euro Fighter or something like Lightning Run, BUT they just painted Boomerang last year so I think that's highly doubtful unless they just move Boomerang to another park.
  10. ^ if they hinted at that I'd guess the dark ride in the old KOD building is looking more likely than. Only other thing they really have there would be removing the screaming swing that no one pays to go on and putting something else there. The only way to get a coaster there would be moving riptide and boomerang along with screaming swing but the fact they just repainted boomerang to match the boardwalk I don't see that happening. Time to speculate for 2015 my money's on a new dark ride in the KOD building even though I hope they go for a thrill ride.
  11. ^ I am just stating what he posted as he was told by someone what was going on. I'll give him credit a lot of things he's posted he's been right on, and granted a lot he wasn't, it was more just to say what he was told.
  12. Questions pretty simple. Whem do you think Cedar Fair will finally partner with RMC and redo some of their wood coasters/build new RMC coasters? It's been 3 years since they've made their mark and I think I speak for a lot of people that I'm surprised none of these awesome rides have made an appearance at a Cedar Fair park. What Cedar Fair coaster would you like to see receive the first Iron Horse treatment? Personally I'd like to see Ghost rider at Knott's and Mean Streak.
  13. According to screamscape there were some workers seen cleaning and looking around the old KOD building and assumption is looking to put a ride like Guardian at Canada's Wonderland. Can anyone confirm workers are scaling that area? I thought they used the old building for the ac system and other things for Johnny Rockets? I guess they could always just move Johnny Rockets if they had to. If this is true part of me is happy as it seems like a very good ride but part of me still sighs as that means it'll be at least 12 years till we may see a thrill ride at Knott's (if they get one in 2016).
  14. I would love to see a mega lite like Lighting Run in that spot as long as Knott's isn't looking at doing one.
  15. I am still convinced that Iron Colossus video that was on youtube (no longer is) was requested by MM to be taken down as I think it was a leak. I am very interested to see if it is indeed the same thing that they plan on doing with the re-do of colossus (if indeed they do the RMC job to it). The video makes the ride all one continuous ride (all Iron Horse not half steel half wood). Yes that means you go through BOTH the drops (which looked higher than current and about 80-85 degrees. The first half there were 2-3 inversions. The second half it was more twists and airtime elements. I think the aim for it is the worlds longest coaster. On a side note I want to know what they're doing with where Deja Vu's spot was. I think thats a perfect spot for a Euro Fighter .
  16. Will it open in 2015 or 2016 do you guys think? I guess it depends on the plan (given it is the RMC job)
  17. When we went to the full throttle midnight event last year I asked the gentleman next to Bonnie (who seemed to be a pretty higher up maybe right below her) if for the following year they'd consider redoing revolutions trains by removing the otsr especially now they have the world's tallest loop with just a Lap bar. He said they were added due to too many riders trying to stand up. I think that could easily be stopped by adding lap bars with shin guards but Idk if the company thats now making those coaster trains would do that.
  18. I was going on youtube to show my buddy the Iron Colossus video someone posted and it seems to be taken down from youtube (used to come right up on google it also isn't popping up). I find it strange it would be taken down as people make up rides all the time. I wonder if the user just decided to take it down, or if the park requested for it to be taken down? For those that haven't seen it's one continuous ride (you go up both lifts). The first half there were two inversions plus a bunch of twists and airtime hills, the second half no inversions but seemed to be even more twists/turns and airtime hills. Both drops seemed steep (I'd say 80-85 degrees). Makes me wonder if Six Flags asked for it to be taken down?
  19. I'll admit maybe making a bold statement like it will for sure was a little arrogant on my half, but I sincerely think if this is all they do and ignore the thrill seekers it will go down. Things have to change with any business/industry to attract current and new customers. If they added a thrill and still did the family thing they will continue getting their family clientele while adding the thrill seeker clientele.
  20. Fair enough and I know families bring more money, but how is it ok for a thrill park (unless they take down their thrill rides they're still a thrill park) to go a decade without adding one thrill ride? I'm not saying adding family rides is a bad thing but they couldn't add one single thrill ride in the last 10 years?
  21. I know most people on here won't agree with this, but I do. The only thing I disagree with is I think the new boardwalk looks nice (nicer than PP), BUT I 100% agree their attendance will fall flat in the next year or two if they don't add a new thrill ride. Look, Knott's has done a nice job revamping the Log ride and I'm sure the Mine Ride will be just as nice and they also did a great job with all the appearance aspects of the park. The problem I have is ALL THEY'RE DOING IS ADDING FAMILY ATTRACTIONS OR REDOING CURRENT RIDES. Don't get me wrong that isn't bad every so often, BUT it's been TEN YEARS since a thrill ride/coaster has been added. Let that sink in ten years is a LONG time (put in perspective you can go from a freshman in college to getting a PHD in less time) for a theme park to not add a single thrill ride/coaster. I honestly don't get why so many people LOVE what Knott's is doing YEAR AFTER YEAR and completely ignoring the thrill seekers they have forgotten about in the last decade. I seriously hope 2015 (which would be 11 years) they finally bite the bullet and add a thrill attraction. For anyone that's about to rip this apart would you honestly rather see Knott's add another family attraction (ride, coaster or dark ride), or would you be more excited to finally see a thrill ride/coaster, or for the smart ones that say both if they announced both what would you be more excited for?
  22. That is a good sign (I think). As I said I hope what I was told is proven to be wrong as I LOVE Monte! I totally agree they should remove Boomerang and re-locate Riptide that'd give I'd think enough room for a small Euro Fighter or an El Loco, but I agree they just repainted Boomerang so I don't see it going, but I would welcome new trains with the vests . Over all that though I'd love to see a RMC makeover to Ghostrider! I'm sure Cedar Fair is in talks with RMC now (not saying for Ghostrider, just as a relationship between the two companies) and Cedar Fair has several coasters that would GREATLY benefit from RMC. I'd also say I'd understand if Knott's wouldn't do that if SF plans on doing it with Colossus. If thats the case Ghostrider is going to be 17 years in 2015 and I think I speak for a majority that if retracking doesn't work, all I am saying is thats a lot of room to replace Ghostrider with something bigger and better.
  23. I just noticed something. Is this the first b&m invert without the dropping station floor?
