  1. Heres a true story that happened to me just 3 months ago. I went to a SF park and as i walked up to the metal detectors i had to place my loose articles in the little plastic box before i walk through. I had my cell, a camera and my HD video cam with me so i placed them into the box and walked through. When i got through security came up to me and said we are sorry but video cameras are not allowed in the park. I was shocked when they told me this, so i asked the head of security whats the difference between a video camera and a camera or a cell that also shoots video? They had no answer for that and still insisted that i bring the video camera back to my car. Finally the security guard called someone on his radio and gave him the OK to let me in with it!
  2. My question to the parks would be to define "loose Articles". For example you can't wear glasses unless you have a strap holding them on, so why can't you have a Go-Cam that is strapped on? Whats the Difference? To me if its secure it is not a loose article and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. I bet if they changed their policy you would see less people sneaking hand held cams and cells on coasters to shoot POV's, but i guess that makes too much sense!
  3. Work has begun on Wildcat and here's a pic posted on the parks FB page!
  4. You can see some pics of the park tearing down the front entry gates here Here's a bunch of pics of the construction: http://www.wkyc.com/news/photo-gallery.aspx?storyid=266309
  5. Lake Compounce is adding a big Wavepool in the new section of Crocodile Cove and it will be announced the end of December.
  6. Why can't you design a better restraint that is comfortable on your wnigriders? I would ask the same question to intamin except it would refer to all their coaster designs!
  7. Here's a video of some damage at Playland in Rye NY http://southeast.patch.com/articles/astorino-sandy-didn-t-like-playland#video-11968196
  8. The new train arrived the end of August and is sitting in the Maintenance building behind Flashback. The town of Agawam has approved the Hurricane Harbor expansion last week and you can see the plans here
  9. I have been voting for these awards for a long time and the main reason you dont see 305 in the top 10 is because there will be no steel coaster with otsr in the top ten especially on a coaster that does not go upside down, and that stupid brake just before the airtime hill. How stupid is intamin that they cant even design a good restraint. To the person a few pages back that said KK and TTD are the same coaster, they are not the same and if you have ridden them both you would know. KK rattles your bones and has otsr where as ttd is smooth and only has lapbars. Another thing you have to remember when you are voting on a coaster your not just judging it by the ride, you have to look at every aspect of the ride IE: rerideable, theming, operations. Skyrush is a good coaster but with the crappy restraints and poorly designed station it doesnt make the cut.
