Photo TR: The Ray's do the Road To Cedar Point!
jray21 replied to jray21's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Next update coming up soon. However, I forgot to post this video. I had never seen this before this park, but it's the oddest way to do an all-clear. Every ride op was required to do it. I understand why they do it, but it looks really dumb. Although, it was a lot of fun to make fun of for the rest of the trip! -

I've found that the more terrible and fake the cheese, the better the nachos! Just wait for the Knoebel's pics. This! Haha! Yep! -

Here is part B of our first day at Six Flags Great Adventure. So this is where the lost Apollo capsule ended up. Backstage tour of Nitro! We were able to get some incredible rarely scene shots! Airtime! That guy's a wuss! Nitro is a great looking ride. I'm a nerd. The local news came out and interviewed Robb.... a Britt.... a hick... and a superstar! This group was picked to be the riders for the newscast! Oh, by the way, watch out for the bears at SFGA. They know how to do it right! hAirtime! Satellites, Lunar Capsules, what other kind of work do they do here? Nice sun shot. Gotta love the GP. Awesome views of Nitro. They probably thought we were a lot more important than we were. Good thing we had the vests so Nitro saw us and avoided us. Don't bring loose articles on or they get stuck here and very depressed. Satisfied riders. Zoooom! Any closer and David might lose his head! They gave us some awesome access for pictures. That $1 locker doesn't seem so expensive anymore does it! Cool turnaround. I loved the pictures we were able to take. Nitro is an amazing ride! What is that dude in the second row wearing? That is not an illusion. Nitro goes higher, and is bigger, than a plane. Oh phew! We were really worried where we were! Time for lunch!!! This automatically makes any day better. There was free beer for all the drinkers....if you could get past Derek and Piers. These were some awesome nachos. They also had hamburgers, hot dogs, and a bunch of other great selections! It was a really good spread. Plate 1 of 3. Great stuff! Ice cream and beer are all that Stephen and Cliff needed! They went above and beyond by having some awesome prizes for us! Eric got a nice pin. Liz did too. Cheryl got her prize. Fudge got a nice bag to sneak some food out of the buffet. David loved his superheroes in tight outfits black book. Martin got a notepad to write down all his dirty little secrets in. Ryan also now has his own black book. Just like Charlie Bucket, TPDave got a Golden Ticket! So did Guilherme. I think this was a Golden Fast Pass for the rest of the day. These three working together put on a great event and trip! Robb also got an awesome gift. Stacey would rather deal with 10,000 screaming kids than do the Shocker again. The Skull Mountain building was really cool. Didn't feel too whorish on this 'kiddie' ride. But his voice is now gone. It's been an hour since lunch. I need a snack. One of the few left. TPR approves! Want to see my green button? This can be a painful ride. Can this name be any more bland? Gotta love the Six Flags prices. $45 for chicken strips and fries. Amazing. At least the bacon sliders were good. This guy seriously should get an award. This lady tore into him and berated him for a very long time. He reacted perfectly and did a great job. We found some more shirts for Larry. The old and the new! The was an absolute highlight of the trip! I've always heard how beyond incredible this ride was, and I totally thought people were overdoing it a little bit. They were totally undergoing it. It was the most amazing ride! Definitely my top 3. That is a massive amount of wood! Kinda looks like Ferdinand the Bull from the cartoon. I think they should have him breathing fire! Just an awesome ride. Now that is hairtime! Rock on my friend, rock on. More satisfied riders, but the trains do look bad. Is he trying to breastfeed? Kingda Ka and El Toro. They had some nice looking areas in the park. Pretty rough for a mine train. Next up is Bizarro! I spy David and Spears on a twisty train! I was really hoping they would have fallen. Didn't know that the log ride drop was that scary. Dan's favorite thing. Incredible airtime hills. Pretty nice looking park. The line was too long, but it looked like a great log ride. The skyway give you a great view of the park. For those who ever wondered why it's called a pretzel loop. Chang looked great in it's new location. This really is a massive park. The entrance plaza. Time for another snack. Pizza and Pizza Fries. I thought the Pizza Fries would be bread/Pizza in frie shapes, but they were fries with sauce and cheese! Amazing stuff! Amy lost her scrunchie on Nitro, but since this was New Jersey, we just used a straw wrapper! Dave Fudge is excited for the first ride of ERT! Gotta love ERT! No lines! They have the haunted train all to themselves! The long exhausting walk back to the bus after an incredible day! -

No chance. Around here, that would be Verbolten. Too soon? I believe that's V-bolten to the true enthusiast. And I sure do hope the wheels fit between those bolts. That would make for a real uncomfortable ride. These made my day, but you did forget the painful restraints that will have the power to break legs. Oh, and the trains will have Timberliners, but I've heard they may be delayed. By a few years. -
Coasting for Kids 2012 - Be part of Team TPR!
jray21 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just reached my goal of $150 in 3 days. I divided up the matching portions to the Michigan group, and the Worlds of Fun group (Cedar Point is now in 1st). However, I will STILL match any funds donated on my page until tomorrow! Thanks for all of your support! -

I'm now in for CGA! I'm a late addition to the Coasting for Kids Team TPR, but there are still a few days left to donate! However, I also really want TPR to be in first place in Michigan's Adventure and Cedar Point. So starting now, for every dollar donated to me until I reach my goal, I will match with a donation to either the Cedar Point or Michigan's Adventure teams! That's up to $75 total! So please help out, it goes for a great cause! Even $1 will help! www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/joseph-ray/CaliforniasGreatAmerica -

Yes there was! I have a picture of Derek with a huge smile on his face with his free beer. I really was starving by the end of the tour. We went straight from ERT to the backstage tours so we had no time to eat until lunch. The backstage tours were amazing and absolutely worth it. I did get more food pictures for the next update so it will be a normal update -

Looks like it was a ton of fun. Wish they had those where we live. The pizza looked amazing, but I also agree that you have to deduct a point for not having the Dexter P177a. -
This is our photo trip report from TPR’s Road to Cedar Point trip in 2011. As always, we had an absolutely incredible time and got a crap load of credits! All the parks on the tour were new credits for us, so we were really excited. We caught up with old friends, met a ton of awesome new people, and escaped from a serial killer (you’re welcome cal1br3tto) It was a really great trip as we finally got to go to some of the parks I’ve only read about since I was a kid. TPR really outdid themselves again. I really can’t emphasize enough how much incredibly better trips are with TPR. The ERT alone is worth the cost! Then you add in the food, lodging, tickets, front of the line passes, transportation, and more, and you have the deal of a lifetime! Anyways, on to the photos! Day One Part One: Six Flags Great Adventure! - Backstage tour of Kingda Ka, and ERT! Day One Part 2: Nitro ERT, finally some food, and EL TORO!!! Day 2: We didn't see Snooki (Thankfully), but we did see a part of the New Jersey Shore! Morey's Piers, food, tours, IT, Ghost Ship, and a surprise credit! Day 3: Knoebels! Incredible food, Black Diamond backstage tour, and the epic Phoenix Glow ERT!!! The first park of our trip was Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey! I forgot that this park was on our trip so I was super excited when I finally looked at the itinerary the week before and found out I'd be going on the world's tallest roller coaster, and more importantly, El Toro! The park was much bigger than I expected, and has a great collection of rides. The ERT was amazing, and the Fast Passes were perfect. We had plenty of time to hit everything we wanted, and were able to get multiple rides on everything. The El Toro evening ERT was one of the best i've ever had. We really had a great time at this park. I was waiting for the twins from The Shining to show up in our hotel hallway. An all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet is a perfect way to start off a TPR trip! Once you get your TPR bag, the trip has officially begun! That is one creepy looking dude. I sure hope they always remember to change the sign in the morning. Yay! We made it to our first park! Do not pass go! Do not collect $200! The park looks amazing from the parking lot. Pretty nervous about getting all of our credits in with the rain in the morning! (Luckily it cleared up and everything was running!) After seeing this sign, it could be an amazing day! Nothing like a quickie! Yes, Texas is that guy that wears a shirt from a competitors park. But it is Prowler, so maybe it can be considered a religious shirt. We are welcome here! First up is ERT on Nitro! Lots of fun hills! This is the fancy train. Nitro gets two thumbs up! Hey, it’s Eric/k Johnson! (thanks folks, I'll be here all week) “Hey Amy, this is going to be you in a few months!” Next up, The Dark Knight Coaster ERT with the lights on! Why so serious? The cars were pretty cool. Poor GP. Should’ve done the TPR trip! Chang…..I mean Green Lantern, looks great with it’s paint job! ERT rides on Green Lantern! I can’t tell who’s on that train. Hello Brownie Surprise Pudding, I’ll be meeting you later! Nice shot with the sun. Amy approves of Green Lantern. The ‘midway’ had a bunch of games and had a ton of space. Time for first rides on Kingda Ka! The world’s tallest roller coaster! No wait for TPR! TPDave might just wet himself! All ready to go! And they’re off! That will sure wake you up in the morning! Coming back towards the station TPR does backstage tours in style! Second fastest coaster in the world at 128 mph! She still doesn’t know if she liked it. Make sure you smile for the camera! That guy is about to pop all the veins in his neck! Looks like the blue train isn’t going to be running anytime soon. From below. Screaming doesn’t help. Someone must have wet themselves. Amy is one with Kingda Ka. It really is deceiving how tall it is. But not to TPDave. TPDave knows exactly how tall it is. Obligatory Fatty photo. TPDave looks godlike with Kingda Ka to back him up. Jake, not so much. The Intamin cables of doom! Over the camel hump. One of my all time favorite pictures. There is some good facial forces in that launch! She just wants it to be over. Over the hill. Down the other side. Looking up the front. We get an exclusive look behind secret doors! Some interesting facts about Kingda Ka. The secret launch control lair. This is the heart of it all. It was really amazing to watch it run. David was crying at this point. Looking up at both sides. Good looking curves! Twisty! Unfortunately, the elevator wasn't part of the tour. The standard “what the hell are all those people doing there” GP face. No don’t kill Robb! He has the lunch coupons! More twisty. Just another day hanging out underneath the world’s tallest coaster. Kingda Ka photographs very nicely. Up one side…. …and down another! Another nice shot. Some happy faces. Over the top at 456 feet tall! Her face is about to be peeled off. I usually don’t do GIF’s, but I liked the faces the kids make. Zoom! And naturally, there would be some livestock right next to it. The Great Character Cafe looked like a ice cream/dessert lovers dream come true, but it was just a standard Six Flags food outlet. Dare Devil Dive, at only about 1/3 as tall as Kingda Ka, just didn’t seem worth it. Just a few feathers in my hair, and I too can look as good as Steven Tyler! One of only two Madhouses in the US! Ok, I lied. We aren’t really on a TPR trip, we’re all just doing community service for various crimes. One of the greatest inventions in our modern age! I'm sure we can find some quality items in there! 2 credits I will never get. Next up was our trash pickup, I mean backstage tour, of Nitro! Lots of fun hills! To be continued…

That really is the most amazing thing! I still remember the huge crowd that stopped to watch it when they first showed it. I've never seen a group that big before for a karaoke video. Still my absolutely favorite music video! (Number two is another "TPR" related video, Leslie Hall Tight Pants!) -

What an amazing report! The pizza tour is definitely on my must do list, and those cupcakes made me shed a tear. Beautiful stuff.
