Cedar Point's sister parks have tweeted their excitement on the 2015 attraction. This could be big. -

He won't be at the grand opening. The Cavs will likely be in the playoffs next season. The park opens the first week of May. Did Cedar Point call a press conference today? -

Highly doubt Mean Streak is getting the RMC makeover. The company is busy this offseason. If Cedar Fair and RMC made a deal, the refurbishment plans would have been announced sooner. -

Here's what I found on a different theme park forum site. (7/30/14) Note: The real French word for Werewolf is apparently Loupgarou, while Rougarou is apparently a Cajun and French Canadian variant on the spelling, with their own special lore for the legendary creature known across French Louisiana. Apparently some Native Americans and First Nations folklore also refer to it as the Rugaru, where the legend seems to crossed with that of the Sasquatch and Wendigo as well. And of course, if you love monster hunters... we’ve also seen a couple of them featured over the years on the long-running TV series, Supernatural. (7/24/14) Cedar Point held a unique opportunity for select fans to camp out in the park overnight last weekend, calling the event the Coaster Campout. In what seems to be a sure fire hint about the park’s 2015 addition, they called the temporary campground “Camp Rou”… as in Rougarou? You know, the unknown trademarked name Cedar Fair filed for not long ago that is the French Cajun / French Canadian word for Werewolf? Adding fuel to the fire, CP’s Tony Clark tweeted out that night, “Currently working diligently on 2015. Did I spel that rite? More importantly, did I say it right...” Take from this what you will…but unless it is another bit of deception (Whyte Lightning anyone?) my money is on the 2015 attraction being named Rougarou. But what will it be?! A coaster? A new dark ride? Or something else entirely. Taken from Screamscape.com, Cedar Point's 2015 attraction might a dark ride along with a refurbishment on Mantis. -

The Cleveland Cavaliers rumor blogs are also buzzing on Cedar Point's 2015 attraction. No official report from people within LeBron James inner circle nor a tweet from a person in the Cavaliers organization regarding a project with Cedar Point. -
I've actually heard the exact opposite of that from full time management at the park. I was told no roller coaster would be added next year and nothing would happen with Old Country as well. However, the current plan the park has for next year is not their original plan so the original plan may have been the roller coaster you're talking about. Zumanjaro went way over budget after it opened a month and a half late so I believe that's what changed their minds for next year. Hopefully we'll see this roller coaster in 2016. Other then that, Backwards Batman is definitely happening next year based on that last clue. Regardless of if a coaster is coming or not next year, Gadv is long overdue for a new coaster. CAN I GET AN AMEN?

- Golden Kingdom expansion? - Batman: The Ride going backwards? - I saw a loop in the last clue and we see this here. We could see a LSM catapult coaster coming to Great Adventure in 2015? - Twitter is cooking up a boomerang coaster in the Golden Kingdom. GOD NO!!! unless two coasters are coming to the park next year.

Makes perfect sense. I heard a report from a different discussion thread earlier this season that survey markers were popping over Old Country. But since the section is closed off, there wasn't a second post to support it. The park released two riddles (which featured toy dragons) on Twitter on their 2015 attraction and most responses were a wing coaster. If the park is planning something massive like Gatekeeper that'll sweep over the entrance, the Go-Karts and the attractions on the east side of the Boardwalk will likely be removed. If Old Country is planning to reopen, Chiller's old station will have to be demolished and a new themed area will probably be constructed with a new set of flats. It's like building Kingda Ka without the Golden Kingdom. Consider the fact the park needs to upgrade the flat ride lineup, we might see a dragon themed section coming to Great Adventure in 2015.

Old Country is reserved for Fright Fest. I also think the site is where the former Haunted Castle attraction was located. That area needs to be respected since the incident killed a dozen teenagers and nearly drove the park out of business. For now, Great Adventure is going to leave it like this. The park needs to add a new set of flats and a water ride. The old footprint of Rolling Thunder between Kingda Ka and El Toro is the perfect place to build them OR the Lake Front. A new coaster will not fit inside the Lake Front unless the Log Flume in Frontier Adventures is removed. Rolling Thunder was removed to create room for a major expansion. It was technically in the way. We could see a new midway constructed from Kingda Ka to the base of Zumanjaro, a new roller coaster, animal exhibits, and a brand new Safari station. The name Zumanjaro was inspired from the Safari attraction. There's room behind Kingda Ka and the baboons in the safari is being relocated. It frees up space for two major roller coasters. A secondary path can be built to El Toro and Bizarro. Bizarro and Kingda Ka are located in dead ends and something needs to be done to help with the crowd flow, especially at Kingda Ka.

I'm going off topic here, but I want your insights on this picture I found on the forums of a different theme park site. I've been hearing rumors the park removed Rolling Thunder to free up some space for a park expansion. With the drive thru safari entrance closed and the baboons being relocated into the park, it frees up plenty of room behind Kingda Ka. Here's my take on what the park could do with this. - New Safari themed area at the base of Zumanjaro. It'll include 1-2 major new roller coasters (probably a RMC), new set of kiddie rides, concessions, games, animal exhibits, etc. A new Safari station would also be located here. A new midway would be constructed from the entrance of Kingda Ka to this new area. - A secondary path would also be built to connect the new themed area with El Toro and Bizarro. The floorless coaster is located at the back corner of the park. Connecting Zumanjaro with Bizarro will bring the crowds back to the floorless coaster and help with the crowd flow.

What's the deal with the park hotel? After Kingda Ka opened, a proposal was announced to build the hotel on the property next to the record breaking coaster. It seemed the project was shelved due to financial troubles, but I heard a report via the discussion posts recently the Jackson Township Planning Board are reopening their discussion with Six Flags Great Adventure about the hotel idea. Has anyone heard an update from the discussion boards or directly from park/township officials? The property has the space for multiple hotels and a campground on site.

Seeing as they already have El Toro, I doubt that the management nor the general public want another wooden coaster. El Toro already took up a good chunk of space of what was former Frontier Adventures land, but with the removal of Rolling Thunder, I can see the possibilities of more flat rides taking up residence in Plaza del Carnaval or the Golden Kingdom. Here's quick overlay of how they could possibly use the land that I sort of made. If they decided to use the land for a purpose other than a single new roller coaster, I can see them doubling the size of Plaza del Carnaval and almost tripling the size of the Golden Kingdom in the future. I decided to keep some of the former Wild Safari land and Rolling Thunder not in the expansion, as I don't think the Golden Kingdom needs to grow THAT much.
