  1. Hey guys. Thanks for being so interested in the new 2003 addition to Six Flags Arizona. Today instead of a regular post with pictures, I need you guys' help with building the supports for the new roller coaster. I'm not very good at making custom supports, especially for a wild mouse coaster. So send me a private message and I will send you the link for the coaster without the supports. Please, I really really really need help! THANKS!
  2. Is Six Flags Over Texas crowded on Friday's because I'm planning to go for the first time ever and I want to ride everything!
  3. Sept. 23, 2002 - New for 2003 Coming in Spring of 2003 is Speedy Gonzales' Wild Run. Speedy will take us on a all-new exciting journey through tight twists and turns. All while SPINNING. This brand new coaster will have your head spinning and your whole families adrenaline pumping. This is an experience you won't forget. You will take sudden turns around sharp corners and quick dives into the ground only to come back up and spin crazily through some spine-tingling turns. You and the whole family will have a great time on the new family coaster. Promotional Photo Shot0509.bmp This new coaster experience is going to go into the spot of Sandblasters and the old queue line of Insanity. Insanity will be receiving a new queue line behind the Mexican/Spanish War restrooms and will enter through were the exit is. Sandblasters will relocated to where Conquistador was and will receive a new paint job as well. Shot0493.bmp Insanity's queue line will be gone soon and moved to the other side of the ride. Shot0491.bmp Can't wait to see what the finished product looks like. Even though its a family ride.
  4. August 15, 2003 Last week was Conquistador's last week at the park and they have already taken out the entire ride, except the queue line and flower beds. It is closing because of high maintance costs and low reliability. Maybe it will make room for a new thrill ride in 2003 or something. Let's see. There is also another possible rumor going around that this will be Sandblasters last year as well. So that could be another area for a new ride or something in 2003. Here's some pictures of the things going on at the park. Shot0492.bmp Conquistador all out and its boarded up. Shot0363.bmp Sandblaster's could be next on the chopping block. Shot0965.bmp Well, that's it's it for the 2003 rumors! I can't wait to see what they have in store for Six Flags Arizona in 2003!
  5. *Sorry for not updating lately. It's been very busy. I'm at a hotel now, so I have internet. Thank you for being so patient. I have also been working on a new project for you guys. It's a surprise though!* Ride Profile: The Great American Scream Machine The Great American Scream Machine opened April 14, 1972 Location: Boardwalk Type: Out-and-Back Wooden Coaster The Great American Scream Machine opened as the first roller coaster in the Boardwalk section of the park. It was also the first roller coaster that was built under Six Flags' management. The ride was built to go over a tunnel that used to lead into Vieja California (which was cut in half in 1993 for Gotham City). This ride still remains a fan favorite for everybody. Shot0999.bmp The coaster from the midway. Shot0946.bmp Great American Scream Machine's trains in the station unloading. Shot0945.bmp Queue line for The Great American Scream Machine. 6. April 25, 2002 Today is Acrophobia's big opening day! I didn't make it to media day, but I heard they had great fireworks shooting out of the top of the tower. I heard they went all out! Shot0912.bmp Acrophobia is now open to the public! Shot0630.bmp Acrophobia's Kiosk opened today as well! It is so far away from the entrance. It's all the way on the other side of the Boardwalk going to Rockville USA. I think people will get confused! Shot0699.bmp The new crowded Boardwalk! Shot0453.bmp Acrophobia's entrance! Shot0962.bmp Acrophobia from the Boardwalk midway! That's a tall thing. Probably one of the best flat rides in the park!
  7. Ride Profile: Greezed Lightnin' Greezed Lightnin' opened March 13, 1982 Location: Rockville USA (Formally located at Boardwalk) Type: Schwarzkopf Shuttle Coaster Greezed Lightnin' opened in the former spot of Wild Rider (a Schwarzkopf Wildcat). It was a big hit in the 80's because of fast launch and loop which you go through forwards then backwards. The ride is still popular as of the 2001 season. The ride became less thrilling as more coasters came to the park, but it is great for a kids first big roller coaster. In 1999, the park added Double Trouble to the Greezed Lightnin' entrance was. They also added Rockville USA, an entirely new section to the park. They rerouted the queue line to go under the Greezed Lightnin' tunnel and right behind the Twister. Greezed Lightnin' really fits the retro themed Rockville USA area. Here are some pictures of the ride & Also a Small Update: Shot0917.bmp Greezed Lightnin' from Six Flags Plaza! Shot0921.bmp Greezed Lightnin' going through the loop! Shot0938.bmp Greezed Lightnin' from the queue line! Shot0918.bmp From the Greezed Lightnin' station! Shot0939.bmp Guess what's now up and changing the skyline dramatically! Shot0911.bmp The catch cars have been added too and it shall be testing soon!
  8. Good Luck with your park! I'll be watching out for it!
  9. This will be a great addition to the park, because it just lost it's Intamin 1st Generation Freefall in 1998. Now it's time for the new generation of freefall. From what I heard from the park Six Flags Arizona will be opening on March 9, 2002. Acrophobia on the other hand will be opening on April 25, 2002. Here's some more construction pictures for you: *P.S. Ride Profiles will continue on June 20* *They made another announcement that for 2002, Six Flags Arizona is going to introduce something new for season pass holders. It's called Exclusive Ride Times, which is when you get to ride a roller coaster during a time when its not open to the public. Here's the schedule: Stunt Fall & Nitro - Monday, June 3, 2002 from 9:30am to 10:30pm Greezed Lightin', The Great American Scream Machine, Shockwave & Acrophobia - Wednesday, July 17, 2002 from 10:15am to 11:00pm Rattler, El Chupacabra & Insanity - Tuesday, August 13, 2002 from 9:30am to 10:30am Arrowhead Splashdown & Viper - Thursday, August 22, 2002 from 8:45pm to 9:30pm Stunt Fall & Rattler - Tuesday, September 17, 2002 from 9:00pm to 10:30pm Nitro - Saturday, September 28, 2002 from 11:30pm to 12:00am I can't wait to see how this new Exclusive Ride Time thing works out. I'll be going to most of them, because I bought my season pass for Christmas. I just need to get it processed on opening day. Shot0441.bmp Acrophobia's queue area is being constructed right now and the tower will be going up soon, according to Six Flags Arizona. Shot0442.bmp Soon Acrophobia will be towering over the Boardwalk section of the park. It's also gonna change the skyline of the park! Can't wait! Shot0896.bmp Stunt Fall is said not to be open until' Memorial Day Weekend, because of maintance work.
  10. I was just at Six Flags New England today and when I went to the water park, they didn't open Torando or Swiss Family Toboggan today, I'm not sure what else wasn't open over there, but I was just asking if that happends often, becuase it seemed strange to me! P.S. I rode Goliath for the first time today and it was AWESOME! I went in the single-riders line, because none of my friends wanted to ride because of the line! It was like 2hrs. today!
  11. NEW FOR 2002 - ACROPHOBIA! High-Altitude Attitude Six Flags Arizona keeps pushing the thrill meter each year. This year comes 224ft. drop tower. It will drop you 200ft., falling at approximately 61mph before quickly hitting the brakes. Once you get off you are really gonna have some serious Acrophobia I think! Promo Photo and Construction Progress: Shot0434.bmp More construction photos. They now have a proper fence up. Too bad it's not a chain-link fence so we can't see all the construction progress. (Taken October 21, 2001) Shot0435.bmp Land has been cleared. (Taken February 6, 2002)
  12. Stunt Fall Opening Day - Sept. 8, 2001 *NEW!* - The Guessing Game - Every time a ride gets demolished at my park, I will ask you guys a question on what you think will be going in the place of the ride. Your guess wouldn't change my mind on what is going in the spot because I am already at 2005, so I can't use suggestions, but I do want to know what you think. 1st Question: What do you think is going in the spot of Double Trouble? Back to the Trip Report: Shot0706.bmp First Riders on Stunt Fall! They look like they love it! Shot0475.bmp Looks like there ready to go! Shot0460.bmp Queue Line was not long at all! Maybe everyone forgot that Six Flags Arizona had another new coaster opening. Plus, the summer's done and schools in! Too bad Six Flags Shot0431.bmp Uh-Oh, Look what's leaving the Boardwalk this season. Double Trouble closed last sunday unexpectedly. They said they closed it because of lots of down-time. The ride was practically never open. Shot0432.bmp Double Trouble now has gates where the entrance and exit path was, but now those paths are gone. Shot0433.bmp Goodbye Double Trouble. I hope this spot will be home to something great!
  13. When I was younger Batman: The Dark Knight at Six Flags New England scared me because it was floorless. Now I love it. Hypersonic XLC and Shockwave also scared me, that was back in 2007. I was 9 years old. I wish i would have ridden Hypersonic XLC because the next year I went to Kings Dominion, I was ready to ride it, but it was gone!! I was so sad!!
  14. I know, bad idea on my part, I never skip lines ever, but only that day! I would never skip lines ever again. Plus I'm young and I make mistakes!
  15. August 12, 2001 Finally, Stunt Fall has started testing. It turns out that when Six Flags Over Georgia tested there Giant Inverted Boomerang called Deja Vu they found a whole bunch of problems with the ride that they had to fix. They had to install an emergency unloading scaffolding on the Cobra Roll, because it often valleys. Another problem was that the locking mechanism for the restraints required a battery pack. So if in the event of a power loss the restraints would be locked. And finally the last problem was the clearance between the riders and the track overhead, it would pose as a huge safety threat so Vekoma has brought them so new restraints so that people can't reach too high. Well, here are some new pictures of Stunt Fall: Shot0842.bmp Stunt Fall testing! Shot0834.bmp Stunt Fall's new scaffolding is up. Not very good looking, but safety first. Shot0893.bmp More of Stunt Fall's cobra roll and scaffolding. Shot0897.bmp Stunt Fall is pure beauty! I don't care what anybody says. Shot0841.bmp It was announced by Six Flags Arizona that Stunt Fall is opening on September 8, 2001! I'm excited, I don't know about you!
  16. I'd say a flume ride too, but with like a country theme! That would be so cool! P.S Im loving your park very very much!
  17. Yeah, I know that's what happened when we went to Canobie Lake last year, i got so tired of the line cutting that i just jumped to the front of the line on the Extreme Frisbee. Im ashamed, but all well.
  18. July 28, 2001 It has been about two months since I last visited the park and I haven't heard anything about Stunt Fall testing, so at this point we are looking at a September opening which really sucks. Another thing is that Skyscraper has been closed since the start of the season. I heard that the maintenance costs were too high for the park and that they are getting rid of it for the 2002 season. Well here are some pictures: Shot0536.bmp There's the entrance to Skyscraper. Its all boarded up. I wonder what may go there. The ride is still perfectly intact so I don't know what's gonna happen to it. Shot0643.bmp There's Stunt Fall just sitting there doing absolutely nothing. At least we have Nitro until' this ride opens. Shot0693.bmp Nitro is still running great. Shot0687.bmp Nitro's beautiful station! Shot0683.bmp Best Picture of The Day!
  19. Yikes.... Ok, well I'll just get the Flash Pass then, I was gonna do that anyways!
  20. Cool, thanks that helps a lot! And I don't think the people there will get to me. My hometown park is Six Flags America and they have a bad reputation!
  21. Ride Profile: Batman: The Escape Batman: The Escape opened on May 29, 1993 Located: Gotham City Type: B&M Stand-Up Coaster Batman: The Escape was opened just in time for Memorial Day Weekend! It was built where Great American RIvers (a Rubber-Raft Water Slides). The new roller coaster brought a new food stand named Gotham City Food Factory. The new coaster also brought the retheming of a classical rotor ride, which is now themed to Mr. Freeze and named The Freeze Ray. Here are some pictures of Batman: The Escape. *Tomorrow I will continue with the Trip Reports at the park. Ride Profiles will be back on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.* Shot0466.bmp Batman: The Escape from where The Freeze Ray and The Joker's Wildcard's entrance is. Shot0449.bmp The skyline from the west of the park which is where the parking lot is. (I know the quality of the picture is bad, but this was before I figured out how to see coasters from far away) Shot0817.bmp This coaster requires you to buy a locker. Shot0468.bmp Batman: The Escape has lots of themeing. They have a whole bunch of city building and one at the end acts like a tunnel which has never been done to a stand-up coaster before. Shot0385.bmp The queue line for Batman: The Escape. This is the worst themed queue line for a Batman coaster I have ever seen. It definitely needs some love. Shot0489.bmp Finally, Batman: The Escape at night.
  22. Six Flags New England's New Goliath (Deja Vu)! The Cobra Roll looks gigantic and very attractive Taken by SFNE Online
  23. Is Six Flags New England crowded on Fridays, because I want to know if i have to get a Flash Pass. It's also gonna be a Student Appreciation Day if that counts for anything.
  24. Im trying to plan a trip to Six Flags Great Adventure soon and I want to know if it is crowded on Sundays at that park, because I always go to parks on sundays and its never crowded. Let me know please because that park looks fantastic and I've never been there before this will be my first time ever.
