  1. good Lord! I have no beef with you! What do you think this site is? Where we bow down and worship the management and design teams of this park? Of course not, I'm being crititcal why? Because I want the BEST for this park. Why are you going apecrap on me like this? Im not being disrespectful or decietful. Im trying to convery a point and that is I am dissapointed from WHAT I HAVE seen. I said that I had not seen it all or had been on it, OBVIOUSLY. But I feel I know enough about it to say somethign about it and I did...I gave my thoughts... So please be reasonable, im not here to troll and neither should you.
  2. Research before you fire back with that. Here are blueprints and concept art: http://www.screamscape.com/html/busch_gardens_williamsburg.htm
  3. I am dissapointed it is not an Intamin like Cheetah hunt was...the concept art for this ride does not look nearly as thilling nor as interesting...I doubt it will go as fast nor recieve the same amout of airtime as Cheetah Hunt but then we really dont know all THAAT much about it...yet.... A multilaunched coaster does fit the layout of the BBW...but when they announced the showbuilding I imagined something of a cross between a rockin roller coaster and then a cheetah hunt when the coaster leaves the building. To me an awsome, ultimate display of airtime would be for it to launch you out and instred of up, do the banked drop over the river...you get get awsome airtime...more than any other coaster ever potentially...without being to intense...the showbuilding concept art felt like a lame wild mouse inside the building and a mild junior coaster when it leaves...maybe on par with...Pony Express? Yea, I went there:) Seriously though, unless it is WAAAYYYY better than their concept art I will be dissapointed...the park deserved better than this. Apart from Alpengeist and Apollo's Chariot, BGW seems to keep getting the short end of the stick as with Drachen Fire and now this...Im not saying it will be a Drachen Fire but BGW ususally opens their version of a BGTB coatser but bigger and better...this does not look like it will be either. As for the old Drachen Fire spot...although a flying coatser would be cool...I have thought that a GCI or Intamin Woodie would be better suited as the station and manitinense houses would work perfectly! They could use Drachen Fire's layout as far as station and Trasnfer Track is concerned and its old lift hill direction and then it ccould turn into a twister woodie...like a larger version of Balder or Roar if it were GCI. I may go to College in DC and if I do, I will be visiting BGW a lot more and I hope that this ride turns out better than I think and that they get something awsome in Drachen Fire's old spot before 2016:)
  4. and its not like we dont have enough housing there. They just finished a HUGE project of apartments and condos right next to the Irvine Spectrum....its so silly
  5. When should we see Thrill Shot begin to come down?
  6. Im sure the park tried to keep that REALLY quiet for the sake of not scaring of visiters but I have not heard of the ride running since 2004
  7. I want to go back so bad!! I probobly wont until the very end of August or early September
  8. A single rider line is a horrible idea for a low capacity ride like Green Lantern...it slows down the line significantly while gaining a large single rider line with guests hoping to get on ASAP. Single Rider lines or rides like Riddler's Revenge makes sense as it is not in the open where everyone see it and obviously is aware of its location...this it never gets to crazy and doesnt slow down the line. FLashpass slows lines down enough as it is!!
  9. How long will the park stay open in the fall?
  10. So where is the talk of relocation concerning? Are we talking about the Patriot/ Bazooka Bowls because that seems like the only portable piece of the park. As for the Liquidator story, I was unaware of the original Edge and Ledge but there was a fatality in summer 2003/2004 where a morbidly obese woman became trapped within a part of the slide and drownded within the slide somehow...dont ask me details because I dont know the details. This is entirely differant form an earlier injury as I am sure there were many.
  11. Seemingly every summer since summer of 2005, Wild Rivers has claimed that they are closing down and that they will not be returning the following summer. Well, finally...6 years later, this has actually turned out to be true. There are several reasons why this is happening but I also think that this may not be the end for the waterpark itself....at least in some way. Wild Rivers Waterpark has quite possibly the best location for any water park ever! It is the meeting place of two of California's largest freeways and is directly adjacent to a major Mall. It has good weather in the summer as it is just far inland enough to not be as affected by June Gloom. Thus, in theory, it should be an incredibly successful waterpark. So why wasnt it? Ultimatly, it was succesful when it first opened and then again in the laste 90's The park had a very strong early lineup with tubes lik the Liquidator, Abyss, and Bombay Blasters. In the 90's this extended to the amazing Patriot and the Bazooka Bowls. Although the rest of the park is very average, the park had several very good years. In fact, the park was in great shape during my fist visit back in 2002. Since then however, the park has gone downhill. In late 2003 early 2004, a morbidly Obese individual was allowed to ride The Liquidator and drowned in the tube. This resulted in the ride's permenant closure and as it was arguably the best slide at the park, it was a major blow for parkgoers as it was left up, but closed till this day. Over the next few years, sanation got very bad, paint got old, and certain special touches the park used to have like the special effects on rides like the Abyss and Chaos were allowed to deteriorate. Today, the park is just a shadow of its former self. Decreasin attendance over the past few years may be a very good reason for why its lease was not renewed. Thus with its closing this summer, I have hopes for what happens witht his park. I want someone else to buy the parkand turn it into a success once again. Change the colors of rides that can obviously be savlavged such as: 1) Serengetti Surfhill 2) Wahtubee 3) Nairobe Express 4) Bombay Blasters 5) Schwietzer Falls 6) Wipeout 7) The Cobras 8) Congo River Rapids and simply repaint (the same color) the newer slides including 1) The Patriot 2) Bazooka Bowls What can change is the rest of the park. First, the tower holding the Abyss needs to be extended upwards where the Abyss can still operate normally while removing the Liquidator entirely. On the platform which can be rasied at least 50 feet can include something of what Soak City has where they have a banked drop slid in addition to a vertical drop slide, each where a single individual can ride. The Big One can be called Niagra and the slightly shorter banked slide can be called Viagra:) Each could land where Liquidator did in the past. Second: The Lazy River needs to recieve an overhaul, new theme, more tress, and interesting features Third: The Platform containing Chaos can be removed and that whole area can be the spot of a watercoaster like the one at Typhoon Lagoon at Disneyworld Fourth: The two wavepools need to be put together and expanded outwards to allow more people some breathing room, and the wave machine needs an overhaul to have larger waves Fifth: Bazooka Bowls needs to be modified to have the entry to the bowl be completely smooth so that riders do not bang their heads upon their violent entry to the bowl So what do you think? What would you like to see happen?
  12. how is that per week? X2 has already been built, repainted, and rethemed. All that they have to worry about now is maintaing the ride as is which includes track inspections, wheel replacements, lift hill greasing, line sanitation, and obviously paying for those who staff it. Now that SIx FLags has payed of its X2 inverstment, it should be fairly reasonable now that the ride is running reliably and is still the most popular coaster in the park
  13. Because he knows exactly what he is talking about ^ . But yes, I figure X2 to be expensive but that is extorshionate, the old X may have been that near the end but I doubt it is still that bad. Is there any more word about Tatsu's paint job? I know I saw one support that looked like it was getting paint...maybe 2
  14. ahaha Six FLags Magic Mountain seems to have done a good job with trees:) Come on though, does anyone disagree the park could use a tree or two? But yes, the windseeker is nice in that it will make sure that Six FLags Magic Mountain wont build one:) As for how fast or long it is, it really doesnt look that interesting, its very simple in design but with a small footprint which is perfect for Knotts. And yes I love that statement about getting a ride longer than 2 seconds:) Xcelerator is the only short wide there with an excuse:) Sierra Sidewinder and Pony Express are kinda pathetic. I hope that Haunt is good this year, in comparrison to 2008, the 2010 haunt was a little weak...they had way less staff and the scare zones were not nearly as good as they have been. This year I think I will try Six FLags Magic Mountain's Fright Fest and Universals Horror Nights instead to shake things up.
  15. In my opinion, they should have put the windseeker by the Sky Cabin. Granted its iconic but its also old and unpopular. I think it would have fir much better over there where there is more space and not nearly as much clutter as in Fiesta Village. And now, im not talking about buildings collapsing, im talking about dilapidated roofs in Ghost Town, cracking walls in Fiesta Village, and paint flaking throughout the park. It may be better now as it has been a year since I was there during the daytime but man, it needed help. And yes, we do need more trees. On hot days, you realize why. As for the whole family thing....yes, Knotts is more of a family park than SFMM ever will be but the quality of these rides is just not there. Instead of Sierra Sidewinder, Jaguar, and Pony Express, why cant we have one decent coaster? Even the kids flats are rinky dink. WHen I was with a family with some younger kids, even they thought it was lame (they were only 5). Ive found that most kids if they are older than 8 are willing to do anything and everything if they are tall enough and some just dont find that kind of thing thrilling. Thus, they spend their time on rides like Ghost Rider, Montezooma's, and Xcelerator/Silver Bullet if they are tall enough. The solution to Knotts problems is not adding a new kiddie coaster for every square inch of land they own, they need the quality to match. I remember people complaining about Silver Bullet making the park too cluttered. I like Silver Bullet, it is no Alpengeist, but still a good ride. Now, 7 years later, we have 2 more kiddie coasters and this windseeker. I think once they get enough, they need to start over with Fiesta Village and give Camp Snoopy a facelift
  16. they must have been holding you because of slow loading then? 20 minutes is excessive,\.
  17. thus this arguement is pointless and no longer needs to be continued. If Deja Vu is not moved (which it probobly will not be, what do we expect to be their nrxt big move? S&S launch and drop tower?
  18. thus this arguement is pointless and no longer needs to be continued. If Deja Vu is not moved (which it probobly will not be, what do we expect to be their nrxt big move? S&S launch and drop tower?
  19. excatly, but then the question arises what knotts can do to become awsome again. In my opion, they need to fix up Ghost Town just a bit, plant a TON of trees and repaint Xcelerator's Track as well as Boomerang...I would like Blue track with silver supports:)But that only partially solves the problem...I think they should demolish Fiesta Village and start over...It has gotten out of control...Jaguar has allways sucked....Sierra Sidewinder is a waste of Space....and Montezooma's Revenge...although a classic, something has to be the casualty of expansion. I think a different theme would be fun just to mix it up
  20. thats silly though, its not the layout that makes a roller coaster. Its simple, if CP wasnt to remove Superman as a traditional "coaster" then wicked twister must also lose its title as a "traditional" coaster. An impulse is no more of a coaster than a LSM coaster. But then whis whole arguement is kinda stupid, CP fans shouldnt complain to us about Six Flags, they should complain about not having a new coaster since Maverick. Anyway, I think SFMM fans have enough to wish to improve that does not include changing classififcation:)
  21. Hey everyone, Im new here and I hate to join a topic with a post life this but with Knotts...its all I think about when I think of Knotts. I have not been to Knotts Berry Farm in the day time since August of 2010 and there is a reason for that. My last trip was a bad one...it was hot and dusty that day which made me realize several things. First, the park has no shade!! Im serious!! Second, for the amount of land they occupy, they have way to many kiddie coaster packed into such a small space. Silver Bullet was pushing it but this is insanity. Fiesta Village was a mess of track with cluttered supports, buildings, and fading track. Xcelerator was running slowly and it was crowded. Ghost Rider was rough (my Knotts Scray Farm trip was better for this)...but man Im disappointed. I used to LOVE Knotts. Before I started visiting Six FLags Magic Mountain it was my go to park. Yet since then, its become not fun. Its cluttered, buildings were falling apart, rides are fading, the new coaster have not been good. If any male has ridden Pony Express they know what I'm talking about. I just feel as though the park has fallen a long way even since 2004. Can any of you relate? It may be better know but I dont imagine much so.
  22. IM counting on that as well...in fact that wednesday may be the day that my group ends up going. We will see, my last visit in July was great! Ive seen some interesting pics lately that show that Tatsu is being painted!!Check out the painting thread on PlanetSix or the FB page for SFMM. I hope its true but that the track isnt done until november or so:)
  23. Hey Everyone, I'm new here and just came from PlanetSix where I still am but I wanted to try this as well. Actually, I have followd TPR for over 5 years when they started the threads with pictures and info on Tatsu's development back in 2006. I dont know why it has taken me this long to join but here I am!! Six Flags Magic Mountain is my home park and I absolutly love it. I have my problems with it...believe me but I still love going. Right now I am disappointed because I am no longer going tomorrow as my group decided not to go as there were not enough of us to make a trip worth it.No matter, we will go in a matter of weeks. Anyway, this is my secondd season with season passes. My first was back in 2005 and for some reason I havnt gotten one since until this year. My favorite coasters at the park are: 1. X2 2. Tatsu 3. Goliath 4. Riddler's Revenge 5. Deja Vu 6. Viper 7. Scream 8. Batman: The Ride 9. Apocalypse 10. Superman: Escape from Krypton 11. Green Lantern 12. Ninja 13. Revolution 14. Colossus 15. Gold Rusher 16. Road Runner Express 17. Canyon Blaster Ive had a lot of great memories at Six Flags Magic Mountain. But my three big ones are: 1) First ride on X on a HOT July afternoon 2) First ride on Tatsu in may of 2006 when it opened 3) First date to SFMM, especially riding X2 which was only a week old That trip on X2's opening week was interesting because it was either that trip or the following where I met Robb and Elissa. Im sure they dont remember me now but I was the guy up the stairs on the right side of the X2 station when it broke down and I was passing the time chatting with Robb and Elissa about their favorite coasters and parks...etc. Anyway that is enough about me but Im happy to be here and excited to meet all of you!
