Deep South Bash 2011 - Six Flags Over Georgia
SFOG replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I would recommend going up one exit to Thornton Road... there is a waffle house right off the exit that is 20x better than the one by the park. If you need a cheap coffee fix (or a soda), the Quik Trip by the park isn't bad (gas station). They have better coffee than most stations. And as always, avoid the Fulton Industrial Blvd. exit (to the east of the park). -

It depends on how badly you want to walk through that attraction! I had people at the Knott's parking booths waiting from 5am for West Coast Bash at a shot to walk through the Log Flume! Note that Robb said waiting at the parking booths... the lot will not open until a few minutes before 7:30. If you are staying at the TPR hotel, then you can just walk (but don't expect us to be there with smiling faces welcoming you at 5 am. ) -

There really are no "great" campgrounds near the park (I would say Sweetwater Valley Park is the closest that would be recommended, but it is still 25 miles away). For the best (and another cool Atlanta attraction), go with Stone Mountain Park (as mentioned earlier). It's about 30 miles away (but on a Saturday morning, the traffic will not be bad). -

I think everyone will be pleased with the EBT (Exclusive Beer Time)! The park is really excited to host our first "Bash" event... and we have a few more surprises yet to be announced! -

A small piece of heaven... But seriously... it is similar to a Krispy Kreme glazed donut with apple or peach filling. Delish. -

And just think... this really is EXCLUSIVE beer and fried pie time, as we do not sell either item in the park! -

The system is installed on 9 of the park's major slides. Depending on the slide, riders either enter the Flash Pass entrance at the bottom of the slide (normal tube pick-up area) and receive priority access to the next tubes (Tornado, the Rapids, Black River Falls, etc.), or they merge at the top of the tower (Runaway River, Dragon's Tail & Body Flumes). There are still some kinks to work out, but overall, I think the system is a great way to offer people the chance to by-pass lines if they want (and the devices are rather affordable... you can't beat $15 a person). The number of Flash Passes are limited and the system automatically adjusts wait times to make sure it's not all Flash Pass users hogging a slide.

I will chime in: -Deja Vu was located where Whistlestop Park is now located. The old second entrance (back gate) was located where the Go Karts are now (right beside Whistlestop Park). This was removed when the front entrance was re-designed into the current Promenade in 1997/1998. -Viper was located where Superman: Ultimate Flight is now. The Viper station is still there (the large Superman artwork you can see as you fly down the first drop is on the side of the old station). -Z-Force is located where Ninja currently is. Both rides shared the same queue house. -

The only hotel I would recommend within walking distance is the Wingate by Wyndham (literally the closest hotel to the front gate). -

We are looking forward to seeing everyone in September... it is going to be a great event that you do not want to miss! For the add-on dinner, it will be catered at the park. -
