  1. Live in Cincinnati, about 25 minutes from Kings Island.
  2. New additions for 2013! www.holidayworld.com/holiblog And a YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocLKj8pYNW4 I for one am impressed with everything they are doing, just a year after the major addition of Mammoth. A couple new attractions, a new light show, and many other solid improvements to the park. Can't wait to check them out next year!
  3. Nice update, Despicable Me is really looking great. Also agreed, I was laughing at some of those shots of the employees.
  4. I know I should wait to see how much they actually drop, but I am really really excited about this. $4 for a bottle of pop is too much. Lower prices on food and drinks should open people's wallets more to spend on merchandise and other things. Hopefully they continue to reevaluate some of their pricing.
  5. Speaking of new food options, they posted this beautiful creation on their Facebook page a few hours ago: ( ) That, my friends, is a turkey leg, wrapped in sausage.... wrapped in bacon.
  6. ^^ They actually removed the all the motion seats last year when they took Spongebob out and changed to the 3D Dino video, so unfortunately the actual "ride" aspect of the theater is now gone. I haven't seen the movie yet because I definitely was not going to pay to see it so I'm not sure how good it is or not, but I'm pretty sure they got new projectors for the movie so the quality should be really good, I'll have to check it out this year now that it's free. If nothing else though it should make for a nice 10 minute break from the heat!
  7. Based on my experience, not at all. I think I only ever saw one group go down to see the movie and other than that the only person I saw by the theater, which is right next to/behind WindSeeker so I would always look while in line for that, was an extremely bored looking employee. But I guess it was popular enough to live another year (and possibly move to more parks), so what do I know. I hope for your sake that the Kings Dominion's Action Theater doesn't receive the same treatment, the movie turning that theater into an upcharge is my least favorite thing about Dinosaurs Alive. Other news, Invertigo's new Stinger-esque paint job is complete minus a few finishing touches: (Courtesy of Kings Island's Facebook page) Not much in the form of pictures for Soak City, but the park's GM did announce on his Twitter that the new wave pool is complete and is going to be called Tidal Wave Bay.
  8. Wow, amazing pictures! Thanks for taking the time to share.
  9. I don't find it bad to ride at all and I'm not a huge fan of "spinny rides", though I have been getting better about that. The ride is more relaxing than intense for me, of course if you are afraid of heights it could be different for you. But for me classic swing rides make my stomach more queasy than WindSeeker.
  10. Well you aren't the target market for the Fast Pass. It can be extremely useful for those traveling far from out of town or those who simply cannot make it to the parks as often as a season pass holder. Also, if they weren't as expensive as they are they wouldn't work because too many people would buy them, in turn defeating the purpose.
  11. I have heard that they are making a ton of money from it and based on the fact that Cedar Fair is adding it to Cedar Point and Kings Dominion, I'd assume it's been very successful. Not to mention Kings Island has said that they are expanding their own next year. It always appeared to be pretty crowded on days I was there.
  12. Unfortunately not. I agree that with how secluded that area is, not to mention the fact that they already have a path paved it would be very cool for a Haunt. I think it's probably a mixture of what another person said regarding vandalism and the fact that Dinosaurs Alive is a good source of revenue that they intend on using into October. They're using the area for a trick or treat with the dinosaurs thing for Howl-O-Fest for the kids, oddly enough those are the only advertisements I've seen outside of the park for October, no Halloween Haunt advertisements yet.
  13. New Haunt website is up. New attractions include: Holiday Horror, Mysteria, and Nightmare Alley. Trail of Terror, Cemetery Drive, and Death Row are no more. Also new is "Fright" Lane, allowing you to skip to the front of the line for each attraction, one time each. Prices range from $20-$30 each depending on how many you buy. I for one am excited that they're offering line jump passes for Haunt as it can get extremely crowded, especially on Saturdays, and this will make it possible to do everything in a night. According to the Haunt website "a very limited number" of Fright Lane passes are available, so get them while you can. And yeah the Half Pint Brawlers are coming back as well.
  14. Kings Island tweeted this about an hour ago. It'll be interesting to see how "major" this will be considering how little they have hyped it up.
  15. Hello, I'm Alex. I've always enjoyed reading trip reports and viewing the photo updates from your various TPR trips so I thought I'd finally join!
