  1. Anyone know if Twisted Colossus will get an emblem on its lifthill like the one that IRat has or the one that Wicked Cyclone will be getting?
  2. I don't see why the park doesn't save it's money and build a roller coaster every three years or so and invest into some smaller things in the other years. This way the park can get a complete coaster instead of these shorter rides. (Although Twisted Colossus does look like a great ride!)
  3. Can't wait for this coaster to open, it looks fantastic! Also, it seems as if Twisted Colossus will have a maintenance platform on the top of the lift similar to Wicked Cyclone's. Notice the bottom platform
  4. What about the two new water slides at SFMM's Hurricane Harbor?
  5. So I was at Hurricane Harbor today and noticed that they had the entire second lot closed only to have four semis with wooden planks and metal beams on their trailers to start unloading in the middle of the lot. They look like they could be for commercial shoot. Note: Photos aren't the best since I only had my phone. Close up on one of the trailers. Best shot I got of the entire set up. No one has a posted a photo of the Lollipop Freeway Sign in a while, so, why not?
  6. Wild Rivers is working on a water park in Irvine, so they could be going there.
  7. About 20 minutes, they're taking the people off the train in the tunnel now and they had to bring someone's sandals to them. Maintence returning from the tunnel.
  8. ^Well the ride is broken down now with a train in the tunnel with people on it.
  9. Waiting in line for Full Throttle now and there is a crane still on site. Yep, still construction equipment on site.
  10. Intamin (or any other roller coaster company): How could someone that is interested in becoming a roller coaster designer, actually get into designing the rides?
  11. So are they going to be closing down Superman plaza for construction?
  12. ^Nope not at all. But they definetly sure do look newer than the ones on the other train.
  13. So yesterday I was at the park thinking that since it was a Sunday, there would be less of a crowd than on a Saturday. Boy was I wrong. It was as a bad as a summer Saturday. But that didn't stop me as I really wanted to ride Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom, and a few other rides. So I will tell you guys how my day went. When we first pulled up to the parking boothes at about 11:30, we knew that it was going to be packed, because the line started right after the new stop light for the new office building. We finally got through the parking boothes after about 10 minutes. We then proceeded to park right in front of Scream. After entering the park we walked over to Lex Luthor for my first ride. We waited in the main line for about an hour after finally getting on the ride. Lex Luthor is a great ride and the ride ops were really trying to get everyone on as fast as they could. After that, I then got in line for the single rider line. I highly suggest this line over the main line, since this one goes by fairly quickly. I then walked over to Tidal Wave, since it was getting very hot, and what a mistake that was. I walked up to the spot were they start splitting the line in to what row you would get. It took a whole HOUR from that point, and they were running two boats! The ride ops were absolutely terrible, it took them about three minutes to load ONE boat! I finally got on the ride and realized that is defiantly not worth it. I then went and got something to eat. After eating I walked to Riddler's and got two rides via the single rider line. The rest of my family walked over to Collosus, where they reported that it was a 45 minute wait at about 2:00. So I said screw that and went back over to Lex Luthor where I got four more rides, while my family was riding Collosus. We meet back up and decided to go and ride Goliath, which had about an hour wait. And this is also where a lot of the line jumpers were at. We were at the part right after the entrance when I saw at least 15 people cutting other people. I then walked up about another 20 feet, where I saw two of the people who were line cutting talking to two security guards. It sounded like the two 16 year boys were trying to catch back up with their group after getting out of line to go get a drink. The security guards were saying that was against park rules and that they would have to go to the back of the line. The boys didn't like that as they started to argue with them, and they ended up getting kicked out of the line all together and weren't allowed back in line. There was also a women who was not even letting the people that were line cutting go by her. And she called the security guards over, and the other line cutters also ended up getting kicked out of line. This was really entertaining, and the line went by so much faster than I thought it was, maybe because they were running three trains. We got up to the station and got on the ride, we entered the final brake run, where we saw a train stuck on the lift hill. A ride op in an orange vest came up and said that they were experiencing some technical difficulties. After about ten minutes, they got he ride up and running again. We broke off again, and I went to go ride Revolution and Viper using the single rider line. Revolution's one was ok, but when I got to Viper, I was told to run after the crew member opened the exit gate, and find an open seat. I thought this was just plan stupid, as you would be running to find an open seat. It took me at least ten cycles to finally get a seat. And the worst part was that ever single cycle I missed all had at least three or four seats open. Just your average every day Six Flags employees for you. I then headed over to go and ride Apocalypse but decided against it since there was an hour and a half wait. I walked up to the Sky Tower, where I met one of the coolest ride ops ever. I don't know how true his words are, but he said he has a TPR account (never got to ask his account name though). He also told me some info on the ride pieces behind Apocalypse, where there was the colorful supports, black supports, and a gondola looking thing for a slingshot. I asked him if they were for a slingshot style ride, and he said that they weren't. I then asked him if they were for a new roller coaster, and he said that he shouldn't say anymore. But he said to expect the unexpected. So, if you are reading this (I believe your name was Andrew?), I won't tell anymore if you don't want me to. But again, I don't know how true this info is, but I will go and still think that those ride pieces are for a slingshot while also putting in the possibility for something unexpected. Who knows, beside SFMM, that this could end up being an Intamin wooden coaster like El Toro. Thats unexpected right? After that we went and rode Ninja, and went back down the hill to ride Lex Luthor two more times. I felt that I got to ride a lot of rides with the amount of people there. I didn't ride X2 or Tatsu since X2 is one of my least favorite rides there and its hard for me to ride Tatsu. All in all, it was a great day with eight rides on Lex Luthor, two rides on Riddler's, and one ride on Goliath, Ninja, Revolution, and Viper. Oh, it seemed that one of Viper's trains had new wheels and new restraints! If you have any questions, just ask!
  14. I'm going to the park this weekend, and it will be my first time riding LL:DOD! All the reviews seem to be good, so it should be a fun day! Is anyone else going to be there this weekend?
  15. And it looks like SFMM is getting ready to recieve another truck load of supports or something else that is needed for the ride. You can tell by the wooden planks just right of the supports.
  16. I'm going to agree with Guy here, and say its something for SFHH. Hopefully this will be put in Flashback's spot.
  17. Sorry if I missed this, but will S:UF have a single rider line? If not, then will that greatly change the capacity? Again, sorry if this was already discussed.
  18. Alright here goes my review for the Manta coaster and surrounding area. I know others have posted their, but i thought i would throw mine into the mix. First of all, let me say that this coaster is absolutely amazing and was just the ride that SeaWorld San Diego needed. Other people have said that it is a family coaster on steroids, and i must agree that this coaster looks all small and slow at first, but once you get on, it really does pack a punch! The surrounding are is also very nice and really adds a lot to the coaster. The ride itself is an outstanding ride that probably has the most airtime in all of California. I rode the ride twice, once in the very front and once in the very back. I personally suggest the front over the back since it seemed as if the airtime lasted longer and you get a great view of the tight turns you are taking on. The projection tunnel was a great touch, especially with the swaying back and forth as if you were in the ocean. You could easily see the screen around you, but the light did kinda wash it out a little. The launches were very fun, and the drop under the bridge was amazing! This ride is absolutely the perfect fit for SeaWorld San Diego and is a perfect example of, "Never judge a book by its cover." The surrounding area is very. very nice. The petting area seemed a little bland to me. It was just that the bottom of the tank was just concrete and nothing else. I don't know if they are going to just leave it like that or add sand to it. The gift shop and petting are really reminded me of what Forbidden Reef looked like except you have a coaster in the background. The landscaping around the que seemed to be done, but ut didn't look done on the back half of the coaster. This coaster is the perfect fit for SeaWorld San Diego and should be praised for what you can do with a 30 ft. height limit. I would say this is a must ride when at SeaWorld and is definitely worth the wait. Now on to pictures. Look at the pretty flowers and plants. More landscaping. Oooh, a footer! The station, very nice and pretty! This was just sitting in all of the landscaping, wonder what its for. Two footers in one picture! Rock. I really liked this hill, by far the best airtime hill you will see in California. This was taking from the ramp leading up to the staion. Wonder if they will put some bushes here or something. There is a crack in the track! Oh wait, that is where the transfer track is, my bad. Saw this before the bridge over the track. I think it is pretty cool. The restruant in front of Manta. The stinky flamingos are back. Eww I spot a Manta. Another Manta. Man, there is a lot of Mantas at SeaWorld today! Landscaping on the back half of the ride. Doesn't seem very complete yet.
  19. Is anyone else getting ready for this weekend?! Seriously can't wait for this amazing looking coaster to open! Does anyone know if they still need to add anything, like the que, or any landscaping?
  20. I too, might be at the park tomorrow. Although, I probally won't be there for long. Maybe three to four hours max.
  21. ^Yes! I asked an attendent up there if it was temporary, and he said it was permenant. Which could mean anything, since the employees know nothing about what is going on at the park. There is still some maps and pictures up there on the walls, but I would't be surprised if they are removed soon. It is a bummer, because this could've been a really cool for people who would like to know SFMM history. Seems like Magic Mountain is starting to turn back to its old self. Which isn't good.
  22. Alright, here goes my full trip report from 4/28/12. First of all, this is my first tip report, so lets hope it goes good! First of all, let me introduce myself, since I haven't yet. I live in Orange County, CA and have been visiting Six Flags Magic Mountain for about 12 years. I am a huge coaster fan, but I wasn't a coaster enthousest, until I found TPR. I know quite a bit about roller coasters and theme parks, and have only been to one TPR event, West Coast Bash 2012. Both Knott's Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain. Six Flags Magic Mountain is my home park, even though Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland are 30 minutes away from my house. Enough talking about me, lets get onto the trip report. Ok, I got to the park at about 12:00, and parked in the third lot. After we got into the park, we headed straight to Goliath. Goliath had about a 45 minute wait, which is well worth it! Operations on Goliath were ok, they were not getting the trains out before the timer went out, and it was running two trains. After plunging 255 feet down into the ground, we headed to Colossus which had 15 minute wait, and wow! Colossus was running excellent! It wasn't as rough as I rembered it to be. Operations on Colossus were very good! They were sending out the train before the other one could even get into the first set of brakes! After Colossus, we headed to Scream!, which had a 15 minute wait as well. Scream was running two trains, and operations were decent. They were stacking every other train. After Scream!, we took a little brake and got something to drink. After our brake session, we went onto Gold Rusher, with a three train wait. I highly recommend riding Gold Rusher without Log Jammer their, it is really weird without the flume going above your head. We then went onto Ninja, which had a 30 minute wait. While on Ninja, I noticed that Jet Stream was broken down with people on the boats. Me and my family then went up into the Sky Tower, wow, you can easily see that SFMM has PLENTY of room for expansion. They can easily go past Viper if they wanted to. So, after the amazing view, we went to one of my favorite rides at SFMM, Viper. I kinda marothoned on Viper, i did four rides in a row, once in the very back, once in the middle, and twice in the front. Viper had about a two train wait, and was not as rough as the last time I rode it. The second to last ride of the day, was Revolution. I really love Revolution, but like everyone else, those OTSR really ruin the ride. Anton would be mad that Magic Mountain put those stupid things on. And finally, the last ride of the day was Ninja, again. This time it had about a 15 minute wait. So, all in all, the day was pretty crowded and there was a line on most of the rides. Oh and Tatsu was running both sides! I didn't go on X2 or Tatsu (Which I don't mind, since these are some of my least favorite rides). The first three lots were full and there was little construction on LL:DOD. Please tell me if I missed something or did something wrong. Rides I rode on 4/28/12 Goliath: 45 minute wait 1 ride 2 trains operating Colossus: 15 minute wait 1 ride 2 trains operating (both black trains) only left side was operating Scream!: 15 minute wait 1 ride 2 trains running Gold Rusher: 3 train wait 1 ride 2 trains operating Ninja: 30 minute wait 2 rides 2 trains operating Viper: 5 minute wait 4 rides 2 trains operating Revolution: 15 minute wait 1 ride 2 trains operating
  23. ^^ It was discussed at WCB that Ghosterider will not be getting the Rocky Mountain treatmeant. Although, the park was looking into getting new trains for it though. Which would be awsome! I found Ghostrider to be a fun ride, sure it bounced you around a little bit, but come on, it's a wooden coaster! We don't have to many wooden coasters down here, unlike the East coast.
  24. Are you talking about Green Lantern? If so, then I hope that train gets on a truck and makes its way back to the park it originally came from, Six Flags Magic Mountain! But in seriousness, is the train from The Riddler's Revenge supposed to come back to California?
