  1. FYI: At the park now. Crowds are non-existing. Longest we waited was 10 min. for Tatsu, everything else was a walk-on. Rode every major coaster in 3 hours time. Btw: apocalypse is running great[emoji3]. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  2. Loading sequence was the same yesterday. 4 rows FL, 8 rows regular. First time we used the FL line ( around 1 pm) it took us 35-40 minutes, line was at the second turn seen from the entrance. Second and third time(around 5.45 pm and 6.10 pm) the line started just up the stairs so it was a 5-10 minutes wait both times. After those 2 rides my brain said: ride it again! but my body said: what the f**k are you doing! So the 3 rides was all I could take. Pfff.....I’m getting old[emoji26]
  3. Crowds are reasonable today. Did buy FL+ when we were sure SV would open (around noon......again) and it had a steady 2 hour line the whole day. Running steadily with 3 trains and no use of the MCBR. FL was between 20-30 minutes the whole time......but right now (6.20 pm) the FL line is like 5 minutes at most. The only rides we really needed FL was SV , Maverick, Valravn and TTD but I would have bought it just for SV.
  4. We visited the park today for the first few hours( until the huge rainstorms started to roll in) and SV opened exactly at noon. Waited a total of 1 hour for a ride(11.45-12.45). Going tomorrow for a full day with a FL+ so hoping for a couple of rides on everything. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  5. [emoji2][emoji2] Can’t really remember how smooth/shaky it was the only time I rode it before the closure(it was 18 years ago), but it is smooth now!
  6. After missing Colossus with our visit to the park last year, and the only time we rode it was in the opening month 18(!) years ago, we decided to drive the 300 miles to visit the park last friday, mainly just to ride Colossus. Did 2 rides on it, with a 20-30 min wait time for each one. It was a little too chilly for our taste to do more. The ride was good, speed is maintained very well throughout the whole ride and there is (still) plenty of airtime from beginning to end. The only little thing ‘ negative’ for me personaly was that the ride is smooth.....very smooth. Really felt like a RMC , just without the crazy things they are famous for. When i ride a wood coaster I wanna feel that i’m on a wood coaster, but Colossus is as smooth as a baby’s bottom. Still liked the ride, but not completely my taste for a woodie. 7. We probably will, depending on the crowds. Gonna visit sunday the 2nd of June for most of the afternoon and evening, and then monday the whole day so.....we will see.
  8. Thanks guys! Just uploaded my pass to the CP app and they are both listed as ‘2019 season platinum pass’, so visiting KI first will hopefully not be a problem. Really looking forward to visit KI for the first time ever, followed by 3 days CP and 1 day CW to finish the trip[emoji2][emoji2] Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  9. Hi guys, Maybe it ´s a dumb question, but I just want to be sure about the following: We bought a CF platinum pass last year and we extended it online for 2019 on the Cedar Point website. Our first Cf park we are going to visit this year (June) will be Kings Island. Is this gonna be a problem? Do we have to go to CP first to 'activate' the pass or can we do that at KI? Thanks for the info!
  10. Visited the park last wednesday. As expected Lightning Rod was still closed with no movement or employers around the ride all day. Because it was the main reason we went back to the park after visiting DW 4 years ago, it was a little bit of a bummer. Planned to visit Carowinds this evening and tomorrow......we have no luck with the coasters on this vacation[emoji12][emoji35] Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  11. Visiting the park next Wednesday during our roadtour across the south. Do you guys give us any chance Lightning Rod will be open? Already visited the park 3 years ago and the main reason we are back is LR so it will be a little disapointing if it will be closed. Of course we will have a good time( staying @Dreammore, cinnamonbread!) but it will be better when it includes another RMC to ride for us. Thanks! Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  12. That’s exactly what we did this morning after staying at the express hotel. Parked the car around 8.30 and walked the new boardwalk. Picked up our Starbucks coffee along the way @breakers and waited about 10 minutes at the Magnum entrance with a lot of other people. Watched the running when the gates opened which was fun to see but didn’t care to do the same( FL+ was already planned for today). Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  13. Same story for us. Last time here was 2014 and since we have to travel a long way to get here it was definitely worth the extra money, especially considering the crowds today. One thing I am surprised about is that it is way more crowded today than it was yesterday. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  14. At the park right now. Fairly crowded considering it’s a monday, didn’t expect that. Waittime for SV is 120 minutes, got on it in 10 because, you know......FL+[emoji12] Well worth it because the ride is freaking awesome! Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  15. Thanks for the advice! I think we're gonna let the saturday crowds decide if we are going to visit on Sunday morning as well.
  16. Hi guys, I'm in the proces of planning our second trip to the US this year and this trip is gonna include a visit to Carowinds on Saturday the 15th of September. Because our first trip this year(June) will include Cedar Point and Canada's wonderland we already purchased CF platinum passes(yep, people from Europe with CF platinum passes ). We are only interested in the 3 main rides in Carowinds(F325, Intimidator and afterburn, don't care about the rest), and for the rest we just gonna walk around, enjoy the park, and compare the park to all the others parks we have seen in the past . Because we are gonna visit on a Saturday in September when the park is closed on weekdays, I expect it is gonna be very crowded and that's why a have 2 questions: Does carowinds have something like early entry for platinum passes on a saturday in September? If we're gonna decide to go for FL-plus, do they offer a discount on those for Pass-holders? If it is worth the time,we do have the possibility to go on sunday morning as well for a few hours, but we rather not do that, plenty of other things to do that week Thanks!
  17. Thanks for the help! Going to look into going the first week of June like you suggested, especially because in that period I think we can fit a day at CW into the week. Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
  18. Thanks for your quick response! Looks like it it’s better to wait for CP to announce their 2018 schedule before booking this trip, just to be sure. We’re married for 5 years on tuesday the 8th and I am really looking forward surprising my wife with this trip and celebrating the 5 years with a ride on Steel Vengeance. 19. Hi guys, I'm planning a trip from europe to CP, combining the park with a visit to Toronto and Niagara falls. We definitely want to visit CP on 2 weekdays, not on a weekend(we hate big crowds ). Do you guys think it's safe to book a trip the 2d week of May and plan the visit to CP on Monday the 7th and tuesday the 8th? As you know CP didn't release their opening schedule for 2018 yet, and because of the very low ticket prices right now we are planning to book the trip this week. We have been to CP 2 times before and both those times we were there the 2d week of May so is it safe to assume it is also the opening week of 2018? Thanks for the help and suggestions, Paul
  20. Efteling today(Symbolica preview), thursday Europapark, friday morning Holiday-park( expedition G-force) and after that a couple of hours of phantasialand to end these crazy but awesome 3-4 days[emoji12].
  21. Yes, it can easily be done in 1 day. Of course it depends on how crowded it is. We visited the park on a busy day a couple of years ago and we rode all 3 the big rides multiple times on 1 day, despite the horrible operations in the park. Didn't care about the other rides/ attractions though.....Katun, Ispeed and Divertical was all we cared about[emoji12]
  22. We have the same judgement about the 2 parks. Gardaland was for us an 'average' park, 1 day is more than enough. Mirabilandia on the other hand has Katun, Ispeed and Divertical..........nuff said!
  23. nope, they didn't let you pick a row.We were just lucky that on our 3rd ride we had front row seats. Have fun this friday!
  24. In the park as we speak( long live free wifi). Just rode red force 3 times in 1 hour with one ride front row. Compared with TTD the launch is a little less forcefull but it is great fun. The rolling start is awesome and the launch itself is building up very smooth. Although the front row was reasonably smooth the other rows we had(4 and 5) had a very noticable shaking going on. All in all a great ride with a little but fun bonus: the sound of the launch is awesome!
