  1. I'm lucky enough to live right down the street from a haunted house that consistently gets ranked as one of the best in the nation. It's called the Dent Schoolhouse and it's really in a creepy old schoolhouse. The theme is consistent throughout, without ever straying away into the haunt cliches.
  2. There were at least four decent ones: Trail of Terror, Slaughterhouse, Clowns, Urgent Scare.
  3. They just came back from a 13 year hiatus. They were simply incredible.
  4. Swans. 13 years later and they're better than ever.
  5. Exit Through The Gift Shop is another must see from this year, especially if you like street art.
  6. Enter The Void is probably the most mindblowing movie ever made. It will be remembered like how 2001 is; a towering technical and visual achievement in film history. Only about 1% of the filmgoing public can handle a movie like this but at the same time you can't really consider yourself a film buff without seeking it out. It's unfortunatley only in very limited release but you can order it on demand. Simply jawdropping.
  7. Seriously? I just went to a sold out show of theirs at a large venue and there were lots of people outside who didn't get tickets and this was in Cincinnati (not a big music town.) Hi five on the Animal Collective and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Animal Collective is probably the most important band of the decade (2000-2010.)
  8. Music is my main passion in life. I'm primarily a drummer but I'm working on a solo album where I sing and play everything. I very much look forward to participating in this thread. I have over 10,000 posts on the Coachella Message Board. My username is a great Tom Waits album and also a great Pixies song. My favorite albums of the year so far: LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening The National - High Violet Caribou - Swim Crystal Castles - 2 Deerhunter – Halcyon Digest The Besnard Lakes – The Besnard Lakes are the Roaring Night Charlotte Gainsbourg - IRM Gorillaz - Platic Beach Joanna Newsum - Have One On Me Pantha Du Prince – Black Noise Blonde Redhead - Penny Sparkle Autolux – Transit Transit Chemical Brothers - Further Sufjan Stevens – All Delighted People EP The best shows I saw this year so far: Swans A Place To Bury Strangers Plastikman Pearl Jam Fang Island Muse Derrick Carter Titus Andronicus LCD Soundsystem The National Jay-Z Dirty Projectors The xx
  9. If cheetahs didn't hunt there would be no cheetahs. They need to hunt to survive. It's just a fact of life over there. Are you always upset with the Discovery, National Geographic, etc. channels? They constantly show hunting in all it's viciousness. Also, doesn't Holiday World have a ride where you shoot turkeys?
  10. Oh and I think this ride looks absolutely awesome. I finally rode Maverick a few weeks ago and that's in my top ten steel coasters for sure. The trenches and waterfalls on this, three launches, and that unique tower element in the middle ... yes please. I've been to BGW but still haven't been down to BGT. Even if what replaces big bad wolf is very similiar to this, I need to ride it.
  11. Very long time reader/first time poster here. I still have some TPR VHS tapes to give you an idea, hehe. 10 + years and I check the site for updates daily. Robb, Elissa and everyone else, you do a fantastic job. With all due respect to this first time poster, I feel like I need to respond to this. It's first important to realize that language is our servant, not our master. We made it, we agree upon it, and we often change it. We created it and therefore it's our servant, not our master. I've always loved animals and I've often considered becoming an animal care specialist and I'm still relatively young so I may still, yet I don't find this name offensive or appalling in the slightest bit. In the press release they make it perfectly clear that the riders are the cheetah. There is absolutely no confusion there. I don't think any "cheetah hunters" can run 60 mph. The trains are also going to look like cheetahs and I wouldn't be surprised if there's signs in the queue, educating guests about these awesome cats. Busch Gardens is very well known and respected for taking nothing but the best care for their animals, plus cheetahs are only in Africa and hunting them is very illegal. Common sense says there's absolutely no way this park would ever consider an attraction about killing endangered animals. When the ride is finished it will be abundantly clear what the intention is and even if somehow people still interpret it wrong, what's the worst that's going to happen? Are they going to be like, "That ride was so much fun it makes me want to go to Africa and risk my life by hunting cheetahs!" Come on now.
