  1. I agree. It looks awesome as is, with the legchoppers and inversions. I have been hoping this would be what we get. I hope it's accurate.
  2. ^Eagle backwards, to celebrate the 30th anniversary. The page does say 30th anniversary farther down.
  3. I still think Iron Wolf will be part of it, probably Fright Fest, and maybe they just tease us with 2012 and announce that in September. Wasn't Riptide Bay revealed in September last year?
  4. Could be anything or all of it. I am ready for it to just be Fright Fest, but when will they announce Iron Wolf leaving? People need time to say good-bye. In my mind, it would be good PR to at the same time announce the new ride.
  5. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2105453&id=10583866355 New clue. County Fair could be IW, SWF area, etc. Doesn't give us much.
  6. Between the two, I'd take TDK any day, even though it's not worth waiting in much of a line for. At least it's air conditioned!
  7. http://screamscape.com/html/six_flags_america.htm That could be for the 140ft tall standup that was replaced by Batwing 11 years ago....it was attraction #37 on the original 99 DSP for the park.I so wish I could find the printout I made of that list years ago. The date of the permit is July 14, 2011.
  8. I think if that happens, the locals will stage an uprising. And I shall lead them!
  9. Along the right, there is a word ending in "rds." A word that would make sense is "backwards." Eagle running backwards again at Fright Fest (photos of the backwards running cars on the transfer track have been posted in recent days). New ride involves going backwards? So many possibilities.
  10. If they put new trains on it as rumored, you might be surprised. For years, IW was a good, enjoyable coaster. I have ridden it since it opened, and it wasn't always rough on the head.
  11. Precisely the concern. I may be crazy, but I'm hoping for a new coaster in both the IW and SWF spots for next year. I just hope one is better than a Eurofighter or ZacSpin clone.
  12. I hope you're still equally excited as you re-enter the station. The only ride I've ever seen an entire train of people turn down a re-ride.
  13. That is obviously some strange new usage of the word "enjoyment" that I wasn't previously aware of.. New coaster or not, I'd personally love to see Iron Wolf gone, it's an embarrassment. Cameron. Hank apparently hasn't ridden it recently. I don't think his statement means anything about their plans. They will act on their timetable, and they won't announce anything until they are ready.
  14. That's all fine and good but today the rumor of IW's demise has spread to the, ahem, "big theme park rumors site," whose sources are also confirming IW is gone. Still a rumor, but it's rapidly gaining steam. SF corporate could have other plans, no matter what Hank Salemi wants.
  15. Some have today said that SFGAd gave the same line to the public about GASM that SFGAm has given about IW, then they removed it soon after. Wait and see, I guess.
  16. A rumor that has begun circulating the last couple days is that Iron Wolf will cease operation at SFGAM on 9/5/11, despite the response a few weeks back that it isn't going anywhere. No official statement or sources, but interesting nonetheless.
  17. Whoops! Thanks for catching that. All the Americas in the park names confuse me!
  18. The possible Iron Wolf to SFA rumor is being resurrected as of today, as word is going around on multiple forums that IW will cease operation at SFGAM on 9/5/11.
  19. To get to the Washington St. entrance: You will be heading north on I-294/94. To enter via Washington St., exit at 120 Belvidere Rd. West. There are separate exits for east 120 and west 120-you'll take the second one. Once on 120 west, pretty quickly you'll come upon Rte. 120 Milwaukee Ave. Exit at 21. The exit will loop around so you're facing east again, so turn left (north) onto 21. A few miles later, you'll come to a light at Washington St. Turn left, then you'll take a right very soon after the turn into the park (at the first light).
  20. Yeah, we're pretty aggressive drivers here. One tip: if you are heading to the park before noon, avoid the main Grand Ave. entrance and use the back Washington St. entrance. People literally sit almost an hour or more waiting to enter the park on Grand on a daily basis. Washington St., you'll have either no wait if you arrive before open to nothing worse than maybe 20 minutes if you arrive just after open. Grand is fine in the afternoon and evening. If you need directions to the Washington entrance, let me know. It's just a few turns off the expressway. Plus, you get to drive literally through/under the American Eagle!
  21. Airport rental would be more efficient and less stress, as you'll be closer to SF at O'Hare than coming from downtown, and the blue line train stop (from O'Hare) at Monroe and Dearborn streets is only 1.5 blocks from the hotel. The less downtown driving you have to do, the better.
  22. ^^The closing helix on the red side is actually pretty smooth right now. I took note of it Thursday night.
  23. When Bert the Conquerer rode Mindbender this season, he called the final loop "infamous," and didn't go into detail.
  24. ^^BTR was mentioned previously.
