This is my last update for a week. I hope you all can download the park and post your own photo trip reports while I'm gone! -CD5 1985 11th Season Hello all! I can't believe the Fourth has come and gone - I hope you all had a great one. While we've reached the peak of the summer season, there's still alot of summer yet to come! - Joseph Reynolds I decided to take a few pictures of the park at sunset before heading home today. This is my favorite time to see the park... late afternoon. Have a great evening!

^ In order for the pictures to work, you will need "to go to 'your' pictures folder. Then create a folder called "CD5". Then a folder named "Charleston" in that folder. Then finally a folder called 'Logos' in that folder. Place all pictures there and they should show up in game!" Here's how it will look My Pictures > CD5 > Charleston > Logos However, that should not cause the game to crash.

CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD Alright guys here's the deal. Next week I will be attending initiation week for my soon-to-be fraternity. Since I will have very limited access to the internet, I am releasing a download so that you guys can post your own trip reports to the park. If you downloaded and successfully opened the park with the last download, there should be no problems here. Here is the list of the custom scenery: The only set I am concerned about is Old-Spice's bridge set, which is used for Gardenhill Pass's bridge. I'm not sure if the download is still offered as it was a beta release, but hopefully enough people have it here that they can send the file directly to someone who does not have it. Other than that set, all other sets can either be downloaded individually or as a part of the NetOn and NetOn2 packs. The reason I am releasing this download early is so that you can DOWNLOAD IT NOW so that I'll be able to work out any kinks you run into. I leave Sunday at noon, so please download this park and at least make sure it works. The logos have been included. Some people managed to place it in their pictures folder so that they didn't have to individually assign images to billboards but I'm not sure how they did that. I'll try to get that information and post it here ASAP. Something to remember: please DO NOT post pictures of changes/additions you have made to the park. Feel free to change the park all you want, just don't post pictures of it. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD

1985 11th Season Let's get straight to the photos - I've been swamped in the park office today! - Joseph Reynolds A view of the entrance to Charleston Gardens Amusement Park from the parking lot. It's hard to believe Gully River Rapid's queue is not located within a jungle! Dispatch! Parachute Falls and Derecho make the best photos! A great way to end the (hectic) work day! (DOWNLOAD TOMORROW!)

I hope you guys have a great 2010! 1985 11th Season The summer season is moving right along and we have been fortunate to have been blessed with near-perfect weather this past season. Hopefully this trend will continue! - Joseph Reynolds Good morning! Not a cloud in the sky! Being a Saturday, the park was very crowded! We welcome these crowds! Have a great day!

1985 11th Season Hello again! We are moving through the month of June at a quick pace... Where does the time go? Before you know it Christmas will be here! - Joseph Reynolds Looks like a few people in this family are cranky... Gardenhill Pass can fix that! Vulture has been toned down significantly since last year, it is now much more of an enjoyable ride. I stayed late tonight to experience what will likely be one of the last cool nights we have this summer. See you tomorrow!

I'll do my best to clear up your confusion. The Attraction Awards are meant, as described, to be a light-hearted vote conducted in order to get a basic idea of what a general group of people thought of each category at hand. It is in no way meant to compete with Mitch's poll, and I apologize if I seemed to be trying to do that. It is not a scientific poll, it really boils down to six simple polls representing six categories. I post at sites such as TPR to try to get the largest representation so that it's not "500 people from Ohio voting for Millenium Force". The reason why I placed the disclaimer "This is a light-hearted contest - it is by no means supposed to be a representation of the actual “bests” of the decade" is so that I am not emailed demands for answers as to why Coaster X won Category Y (it's happened before). I did not see it as contradicting statement, just a reminder that this award is not going to be installed in the park as a plaque or anything grand like that. As I stated, this will boil down to six simple polls. There will be measures set in place to try to prevent multiple votes from one person, but there's no way from preventing coasterboi2984 from logging onto his friend's computer and re-voting. We'll be able to see what country the votes came from, but we won't be making changes based on how many votes came from which country - it's not that serious of a poll. So to answer your question, no, do not take this that seriously. Just have fun with it. I'd love to see your choices, but do realize that the end results might not be as scientific as a poll like Mitch's. Hope this cleared things up a bit. - John

Official Windows 7 Discussion
coasterdude5 replied to andyuk200523's topic in Random, Random, Random
I never had any problems with Vista (I got it near the end of its run so most of the problems had already been corrected) but I upgraded to Windows 7 because I had heard it would run Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 faster. I've yet to have time to play the game, but overall it seems like this is a "simpler" Windows. I like how things such as libraries are easier to access. I've made alot of adjustments to the toolbar to make it more "XP/Vista-ish" because I didn't care for the larger "grouped tasks" deal they had. Other than that, I haven't had any major problems with 7. -
1985 11th Season Hello there! Schools are beginning to get out for summer vacation and that means that we are now open every day! This is always an exciting time of the year because we get to see more guests enjoying the park. - Joseph Reynolds It's a bright and sunny day... perfect for a trip to Charleston Gardens Amusement Park! The Green Pearl Theater will host a local talent concert tonight. The Great Swings from the entrance to Gardenhill Pass. The upper loop of Charleston Gardens Amusement Park. The sun sets over Derecho and Gardenhill Pass. Have a great evening!

Now that you've taken the time to fill out your coaster ballots for Mitch's coaster poll, it's time to nominate some rides and parks for Coaster101's less-serious Attraction Awards of the Decade! Unlike our annual Attraction Awards, this year's is all about the previous decade and what all it gave us... good or bad. With categories like Best Epic Fail, you can tell this isn't taken very seriously. It's a simple contest. Right now we are accepting nominations until January 31st for the six categories. If you think you might be interested in nominating, you can read more here. I'll post here again once it is time for voting. Feel free to ask any and all questions.

1985 11th Season Reception to Gardenhill Pass has been mixed. We know our guests love thrill rides and this addition does not mark the end of thrill rides at Charleston Gardens Amusement Park. We are still an amusement park and we realize that guests come here for a good time and great rides. Gardenhill Pass marks our commitment to offering our guests a wide variety of attractions. We are sure guests will see this in the coming years. - Joseph Reynolds Here is an overview of Gardenhill Pass, you can see there is a good bit of land for new attractions. Let's not forget about the other areas Charleston Gardens Amusement Park has to offer! Here you can see the different architectural stylings that can be found throughout Charleston Gardens Amusement Park. The covered bridge offers some relief from the hot sun above. I'll leave you with this view of Derecho's first drop from Gardenhill Pass. Have a great day!

1985 11th Season Welcome to the the opening day of our eleventh season! Time sure does fly, it's hard to believe we've been open for this many years! Today is also the day Gardenhill Pass makes its debut - so far the guests seem to be loving the tranquil new area of the park. Let's take a look! - Joseph Reynolds The entrance to Gardenhill Pass is somewhat secluded from the rest of the park. As you can see from this aeriel, the area itself is set back in the trees. If you follow the path you'll come across the center of Gardenhill Pass. In the center you'll find the Plaza Cafe, an outdoor cafe serving healthy options such as soups and salads. Across from the cafe you'll find the focal point of Gardenhill Pass, the Green Pearl Theater. The Green Pearl Theater seats 600 and will become the home of a concert series featuring local acts this summer. Not far from the Green Pearl Theater, you'll come across Swan Lake where there are hand-crafted swan boats for your boating pleasure. Looks like alot of fun to me! German Bros. Games features classical midway games in a different setting. The other end of Gardenhill Pass connects to Harbortown, making the upper-loop of Charleston Gardens Amusement Park complete.

1985 / 11TH SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT Merry Christmas! It is my pleasure to unveil Charleston Gardens Amusement Park's 1985 addition: Gardenhill Pass. - Joseph Reynolds At the cost of $21 million, Gardenhill Pass is not only the costliest expansion in our history but also the largest in size. The park's size will increase by nearly a quarter when Gardenhill Pass opens in the spring of 1985. Gardenhill Pass represents a new direction we are taking with Charleston Gardens Amusement Park. We are now shifting our focus to emphasizing the beauty of the South Carolina landscape through crafted gardens and landscaping. Gardenhill Pass will be a relaxing area of the park with an outdoor theater, midway games, swan boats, and an outdoor cafe. The Green Pearl Theater will be the focal point of Gardenhill Pass. With seating for 600, the Green Pearl Theater will be the prime location for concert series and other premier entertainment. Hand-crafted swan boats will grace Swan Lake and will be a perfect attraction for families. We look forward to seeing you next spring to experience Gardenhill Pass for yourself!

1984 10th Season The time has come for us to say goodbye to Carolina Calmity. - Joseph Reynolds Some employees were treated to one last ride late afternoon two days ago before demolition began. By the next morning signage had already been removed. Demolition began mid-afternoon yesterday.. By this morning many pieces of track were being hauled off to the scrap yard. Due to the ride's shape, it was impossible to move it to another Funtime property. Nearly everything was gone in a matter of days.

Hello everyone, I apologize for the lack of updates on this project. Don't worry, I'm making great progress, it's just hard to show alot of previews since this is a short film - I don't want to give everything away. I am looking at releasing Beyond Pixelation on Tuesday, January 12th, but that might change. Stay tuned to this thread for updates! Here is the official film poster for Beyond Pixelation:

1984 10th Season Today was Carolina Calamity's final day of operation. It is a shame to see the ride go, it will be greatly missed. - Joseph Reynolds The train makes its final run around the track. Unfortunately the ride is not as smooth as it once was. The train prepares to plunge into the tunnel. Through the tunnel... Goodbye Carolina Calamity, I'm sure you'll be many people's all-time favorite ride for many years to come..

Alton Towers Discussion Thread

Maybe the ride will go upside down 13 times. Unlikely, but you never know! -
1984 10th Season Carolina Calamity has only a few more days. Though the ride has only been around for ten years, it represents the starting point for the growth that this park has seen in the past decade. We have gone from this small ride to giants such as Derecho and Vulture. - Joseph Reynolds Carolina Calamity's queue line opens for the morning. Carolina Calamity was the tallest (and only) coaster in the park when it opened. The midway at Charleston Gardens Amusement Park
