  1. Does Six Flags want more PR problems? I don't understand....?
  2. And this is what makes you better than the rest of us. Not only did you see this coming, but you had the humility to point it out to the rest of us idiots who were hoping otherwise. I'm sure with this cavalier ammount of hubris in your arsenal, you will make fast friends of everyone you meet, and greatly impress peers and future employers. The skys the limit for you young man! Keep up the great work. You're making your generation proud! And you sound like a blast to be around too!
  3. Do you not own a car? Driving will be 10 times easier. Read again, Negative Nancy... My boy LOVES trains. This is for him. Easy is not always the most enjoyable option when it comes to making memories with the kids, and it's well worth the trouble. Don't be such an arse. Seriously! And to think, you are using public transportation, helping offset your impact on our lovely environment, and also easing up on unnecessary congestion on Chicago's already horrible "express" ways. Plus your kid will love it! You'll have a nice extra $20 in your pocket too thanks to not having to park. Good for you! People and their cars
  4. It was awesome, me and my group made sure we all wore gloves, hats, face protection, and multiple layers of clothing including winter jackets. I really only began to get cold on my 9th ride in a row on raging bull. That was the last train anyway, so it worked out well. I saw many people without gloves... those people are just plain crazy or stupid.
  5. Raging Bull went down? I rode it practically nonstop from shortly after 10pm to 11pm.
  6. They sure did, and all 40 of us there had a fantastic time haha X-Flight did shut down for the night early, maybe because of the low temps. I slightly remember they had an issue the first season with it not running in 40 degree or less weather or something.
  7. Am I the only one that thinks that video is fake as all hell? Those people didn't seem terrified at all.
  8. I'm glad you made this post- I wasn't aware that they're open on Thursdays. Looks like I may yet accomplish that first visit of the 2013 season. Only one Thurs left and it's this one, the 24th. If you are a season pass holder you get ERT on raging bull from 10:30-11pm. Oh, and not to be rude or anything, but sixflags has a pretty helpful calender on their website that tells you the days they are operating per month. Take care, I hope you make it out thurs!
  9. I got my e-mail back! This should be a lot of fun, thanks Robb for helping to provide this opportunity. I assumed this was for X-Flight and the e-mail I got back confirmed that. And free light continental breakfast?!?! I feel like a king haha
  10. I would vote for Batman The Ride, but I refuse to call the one at SFGAm a clone.
  11. Six Flags Great America seems to have a pretty lax re-ride policy. I have gotten up to 7 re-rides in a row on Raging Bull, and the ops are always in a good mood, which I'm sure helps. Many re-rides on Batman too. It seems from my experience, as long as you aren't holding the train up and you don't steal someone's seat, then they will let you re-ride no questions asked. This is what makes Great America so great, especially if you are a single rider!
  12. hahah oh man what are the odds?
  13. Early Sept weekends are much better than fright fest. Unfortunately, the park is closed until the 29th which is the start of fright fest. The least busiest day will probably Thurs Oct. 25th, considering they are only open 4 hours and most people won't pay full admission to go for only 4 hours. If you want to hit every coaster at this point I think a flash pass is needed.
  14. I am also 5'11 and average build, but those vest really push down on my collar bone. Not bad enough to make me not enjoy the ride, but it is the first thing I noticed. There will never be a one size fits all solution, especially with 50% of the people who to go Great America so huge they take up a quarter of the midway and seem to only wait in lines for food. I really don't understand why some people pay admission, is it for the overpriced food?
  15. Hey don't be too hard on him, you can definitely lose a pair of glasses on Batman. That is the only exception at Great America though IME. And as far the X-Flight vests go, I do find them just a tad too tight for my taste. I am hoping that over time they loosen up like Superman's, then I will have no complaints. Hell, even now I will still re-ride X-Flight 6+ times so I guess it isn't a problem at all, just a minor qualm.
