  1. Yay! I have 2 fans! Here's a little trailer I made for it: HCFFtrailer.wmv
  2. I would post them here, but when I try it says they're too big... how do I resize?
  3. I'm making a fan-fic based on the Santa Cruz Beach Boarwalk's newest ride, the Haunted Castle! The Basics: A group of teens—a jock, a spoiled wealthy girl, a self-proclaimed psychic, a nerd, a culinary fanatic, a vain beauty queen, a cool tour bus driver, and a trio of emos, all receive personal invitations for an inside tour of an old mysterious haunted castle. They all go for their own reasons, but suddenly, weird and strange occurrences happen while being led around the old castle by a mysterious king—leading to the highly ironically hilarious demise of all of them in… the Haunted Castle
  4. Okay, sorry about the facebook thing. You can find the pictures at my little website here: http://escapezoneentertainment.webs.com/apps/photos/
  5. LOL okay, okay. Let me scan it first. Okay, it's up in the "RollerCoaster Games, Models, and othe Randomness!" section of the forums. I apologize in advance for the horrid picture quality... I don't know how to resize scanned images. LOL Linky: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=55642
  6. Hey, sorry you didn't get to finish or start building it in RCT2. RCT3 is the best if you're going for a recreation of any ride. Also, I just finished drawing a "poster" type announcement for my upcoming fan-fic. I was also doing tons of story re-writes on it. LOL I'll try to post up the pic here (or maybe I should start a new thread?) and I will also make a youtube video announcement.
  7. ^ I thought it might stand for that... LOL I have gmail... they have an instant message thingy too... wumwip@gmail.com A RCT2 version of the NHC, eh? Sounds cool... but hard to do. How's it coming along? I recently learned how to work the omnimover cars I downloaded for RCT3, and they are PERFECT for recreating the NHC! I want to make a recreation of it, but I just need to know how to work the blasted in-game camera feature so I can upload it to youtbe...
  8. ^ Dalt Wisney. LOL sounds good. I'll definitely have some random Haunted Mansion references... as well as references to it being a mere ride. LOL The story will be a bit funny in some ways, but will have some grusome moments. I'm basically going to tell the stories of each character from both the old ride and the new... um... what's AIM?
  9. ^ LOL ... yeah... July... Anyway, I thought the dinosaur was the most random thing in the ride... threw me off a bit... I loved the voice acting though... As I said, the ending was great as well. I've been on the Fright Walk 2 times. Once by myself, and just a few weeks ago with my three cowardly cousins. It's good stuff. I like how they put some stuff from the old Haunted Castle in there. So, did you find the old Haunted Castle ride uber scary? Do you find Ghost Blasters scary? I personally think Ghost Blasters has a better scare factor than the NHC, but that's just my opinion. I feel that if you already know what's going to pop out at you, it's not scary... unless you forget... I remember forgetting about the attack dog and air blast in the old HC, and they would get me at times, but it's good and funny to get scared of fictional animatronic things. This new Haunted Castle seemed more like a tour rather than a strict scare ride like the old one--which gave it that Haunted Mansion feel. All we were missing was the "Ghost Host" to give a monologue on each scene. But what made it different was that the characters in the ride talked to you, making you feel apart of the action, rather than you merely passing by, and seeing stuff. I sort of wish the ride had a fictional story behind it, and would be made into a big Hollywood production motion picture... "Walt Disney Pictures Presents: The Haunted Castle"! ...er, umm... maybe not... HOWEVER... I am personally wrking on a... well, I guess you can say, fan-fic of the ride... giving it a backstory... It's titled "Tales from the Haunted Castle" at the moment, but I'm hoping it'll change by the time I;m done writing it...
  10. ^ The review is up... please don't hate me for it... As for the Fright Walk, I was just wondering... what were your thoughts on it and how you reacted... and how lond ago did you go?
  11. ^ Both please... You get a walk-through tour? Coolness! Take tons-o-pics! Speaking of walk-through tour, you've been on the Fright Walk attraction, nes par? R&R is a company made up of TWO people? AWESOME! Now that's my kind of company! They do great work together! Also, I'm posting my video review on youtbe as we speak... it will have two parts to it, and should be up and available soon!
  12. ^ Yes indeed. Here's the website for those who don't know: www.beachboardwalk.com
  13. ^ To Nicholas: See? The construction isn't done yet. They still have to add the clock and spider as well. Also, I have a thread about the RCT3 Boardwlak recreation in the RollerCoaster Games section of the forums. Check it out. To AltonTowersNerd: The ride is very dark inside, but I will try to take some pictures of the inside scenes whenever I ride it again.
  14. I was the 679th person to ride! The ride was great, despite some areas that need a tad bit of improvement. Over all, it is a great addition to the Boardwalk, and is a must-ride for every visit. FYI: I have two of the songs from the nnw Haunted Castle soundtrack uploaded on www.youtube.com/wumwip for your enjoyment!
  15. I too was privileged enough to attend the grand opening and sat in the new ride car with great expectations. The ride is fun, family friendly, and there is a lot to see. But what the ride did lack was the element of surprise. I was waiting for something to really come out and scare me. Even the Boardwalk's Ghost Blasters ride has some loud and spooky pop-outs (and it's a ride geared more towards kids). Everything was put together well, but I felt that they were going for more of a Haunted Mansion type of dark ride, which while a good addition to the Boardwalk, left me wondering "why didn't they make this ride scary?" There were tons of opportunities for something to pop out of the darkness (the swamp scene was one of the best opportunities, as well as certain dark corner areas throughout the different scenes). Things the ride could do without: The rats. Why? There were too many and they weren't scary. The random dinosaur in the swamp scene. Why? Because it threw off the whole castle vibe. The Santa Cruz tourist in the graveyard. Why? While funny, it was sort of cheesey in some ways. Things they should add: SPIDERS! Why? Because everyone hates spiders... especially giant ones. Zombies. Why? Graveyard scenes aren't complete without 'em. Some scenes, while well decorated, did not seem to have enough movement. The dungeon scene, while very quick, should've had rattling cages and yelling skeletons. The dinner scene (one of my favorite scenes, which I believe Sally Corp made just for me... ) needed more moving action from the diners sitting at the tables. Another note: The audio was too low in the ride. They need to crank up the volume. I love hearing what the characters have to say, and the voice acting is great. Most pleasurable experiences of the ride (for me): Going backwards into the basement. Very fun and unique. The darkness of the swamp scene. Lovin' the dark. Dinner scene. Sally Corp made my day with it. The Guillotine scene. One of the coolest parts of the ride, and a great ending. I believe over time the park will see what needs attention in the ride, and will make improvements accordingly. My rating for this ride: 4.5/10 Like I said, it's very family orientated and there's a lot to see, but the "haunted" in the new Haunted Castle isn't so much. FYI: I have two of the songs from the New Haunted Castle's soundtrack uploaded. They can be found at http://www.youtube.com/wumwip
  16. Great memories! Yes, I do remember the Bremuda Triangle! I just forgot what it was called before. It was such a classic ride! I loved it a lot as well as Chaos, but then along came Fireball and Cliff hanger (both rides were advertised in 2005 I believe). The other ride I miss is Typhoon. Man, that was the best swing ride the boardwalk had, and the only true upside-down ride at the Boardwalk. I remember the Orient Express coaster that was in the kiddie section next to Crazy Surf, and Whirl Wind before it became Wipe-Out. I also remember the old Cave Train ride... (which was much better than the remake in my opinion)...
  17. I get to go! YES!!! AWESOMENESS!!! I'll try to spot you and say hi... you'll really be the ONLY one with a Boardwalk hat and taking pictures? I'll be wearing a black hat, a black sweater vest, a black shirt that reads "The Zombies are looking for Brains" (in huge bright green letters), and black shoes with wiggly eyes on them... You won't be able to miss me. I will also have a camera. I'm gonna be videoing and taking pictures like crazy! This is gonna be so awesome, and I'll get to make it to my sister's wedding in Arizona on saturday!! YES!!
  18. I got this in an email: "BIG KAHUNA CLUB MEMBER You're invited to the official launch of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk's NEW Haunted Castle ride! We're inviting employees, You! (our Big Kahunas) and some special friends to help us officially launch the new Haunted Castle ride. We hope you’ll join us! Please print this email invitation and bring it with you to the event" Does this mean I can go on Friday? (I'm not an employee, but Brigid sent this to me)
  19. ^ This saturday??? UUUUUGGHHHH!!! Danggit!!! My sister is getting married that day!!! Aw man!!! Well, I guess I'll ride it some other time... Is the ride open to the public a the moment? Or will it officially open this saturday?
  20. Thanks again for answering my questions. I'd still like to see a video of it... and hear what the music sounds like...
  21. ^ Whew! No clowns... what a relief... The swamp, eh? I thought it would be the darkest... The guillotine dude is at the end... Huh... I never would've guessed... Cool! I want to ride it alone, but just wanted to make sure it was possible before I go. Thanks for answering my questions... you might hate me, but I have more questions: 1. Are they done painting the castle on the outside? 2. What's the deal with the "ghostly king"? Is he the main attraction? (He's mentioned in the ride description on the prak's website) 3. Do the cars go down the spiral quickly or at a slower speed? 4. Is it possible for someone to take any pictures or videos while inside the ride?
  22. O |_____________ | *Claim | flag * |_____________ | | | | | I hearby claim page 15 of this thread! Muahahahahaaa... sorry.. ^ Thanks for the picture of the spiral and for answering practically all of my questions, Sfmman2000. The spiral looks great for the earlier construction stage. I hope they add the clock and spider soon… That really makes it officially the NHC. They had said before that the old weapons and shield on the walls of the old ride would be placed throughout the new ride… (I guess it didn’t happen….?) Darkness varies, eh? What’s the darkest part of the ride? Hmm… no blood and gore… well, I guess that’s fine, as long as it works… About the same speed is cool. I like the fact that it sounds like they kept the same scare factor as the original HC. Little fun fact: I did happen to see some props and animatronics from the old HC inside the Fright Walk. I must say I agree with the above posts. I guess they did misspell hearse… Spell check simply made the “H” capital when I typed up the word in Word2007. Maybe they were going for the cars looking like something from Hearst Castle? You know that castle in wherever-land that they say is really haunted? Thus having them call it “Hearst Theme” (That makes the most sense to me…) And, yes, I am sort of glad they didn’t “castle-tize” the whole area… it would’ve been too much in my opinion… And it looks like they were considering some of the names that facebook fans posted (Haunted Dungeons, Monster Manor) But I’m glad they kept it Haunted Castle since the Boardwalk is the only park with a haunted castle ride. I still think the NHC building looks good enough to eat… mmm… castle cake… *drools* …Huh, what? A few more questions: 1. Does the NHC have any clowns of any shape or form in it what-so-ever? 2. What’s the spookiest scene? 3. What’s the coolest part of the ride? 4. Do the cars have to have four riders all the time? Or can you ride alone like on the old one?
  23. ^ Hey, is it true that the bear they have at the beginning of the Cave Train was in the old Haunted Castle at one point? (I want to say it was where the wolf thing was at the end of the old ride...)
  24. Ooooh! A dark ride topic! I have to say I love dark rides... yes, even the cheesey ones. Speaking of which, anyone ride the new Haunted Castle dark ride at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk? It opened today...
