  1. I love Storm Towers! Great concept and execution!
  2. ^Shockwave looks great! And from what he showed us the change on i305 is really noticeable as you can see much more track now. I can't wait to get down there April 2nd! EDIT fixed link
  3. July 1979 Good news everyone! A lot has gone down since I last updated! "Jetstream", our Arrow-custom looper, has completed testing and is ready to go! In fact we believe somewhere in August we'll have our first test riders! Are you interested in being the first ever rider of Jetstream? Stop by our new administrative offices at the front of the park for more information! Here is the first picture of Jetstream in operation. Alongside the coaster guests will be able to play games to win their sweethearts a stuffed animal. All the way on the other side of the park is our Beach Bum swimming pool. Choose between sunbathing to the sidelines, chilling under the waterfall, or taking a perilous plunge down our family-friendly waterslide. (Hint, hint: From the top of the water slide, you may just see the remains of the Cyclone!)
  4. I'm especially loving the last shot!
  5. Wow, very cool! Tehe only thing that isn't perfect is your foliage, which could use just a little work. But other than that, great!
  6. December 1978 Trackwork on our star attraction is for the most part, complete. We're hoping to get some testing started in March of next year. But until then, construction crews are inspecting the park 24/7 doing what they do best. We've successfully restored the park's old ferris wheel, with new carts and a repaint. However, many of the other rides were in too bad of shape to restore; the only other ride we think we can fix is the Pirate Ship ride located near the entrance. Until then, we're modernizing everything else for the park's grand opening in April of 1980!
  7. ^Yeah, I thought 1.5 miles was a stretch. But I still can't believe the longest coaster in the park is only 3,000 feet!
  8. But also keep in mind how much more reliable Mondial is, and the higher capacity. With the winds on Lake Erie, I doubt simple chains would've lasted long! But still, I can't wait to see how this compares with WindSeeker!
  9. 1978 About a year has passed since I last saw you. I acquired the land and building permits, and man do I have big things planned for this park. But of course, this is all jeopardized by the success or failure of the first season. I'm putting a lot of my money and sweat into this park, and I'm basically giving it all away to chance, or the power of luck. I also need to pay off the old debts from 50 years ago, so there's a lot in my agenda right now; but I'm a man known to take a lot of chances, and to never give up. I won't share much, but the park's first modern coaster is currently being constructed and it''s flip your world upside down. Four times, in fact...that's all I'm going to say. We've been revamping the old buildings to meet the safety precautions set up by the government, and I'm hoping by 1980 we'll be ready to go. We could even have a soft opening just for those old fans in Sanford...
  10. So who ended up going today? Did anyone see any Mach Tower progress?
  11. The rest was scratched out with ink. My curiosity was overwhelming, so I hopped in my Vista Cruiser and drove down to Sanford. What I found was a sad, sad sight..."Adventure Springs Amusement Area", left to rot for 40 years. Etching my name into the park entrance building, and the date (1977) and snapped some pictures of what was left. It was promising.... It really was. Leftover pieces of the Cyclone were rotting in this field. It seems like they couldn't even finish dismantling this, and left these select pieces to rot forever. It was too sad to see. The potential of this park was too much to bear. I couldn't take it. I, George Silverman, a "former" business man, will tackle this challenge and attempt to get this park running again. I've got high hopes for this park, and I won't let it crumble on itself like the previous owner did, I won't even be careless like the farmowners 100 years ago that let their farm go to waste. Some may think this land has a curse, a curse of indecency, of unsuccesfulness, but I won't mess it up again. 1977: A year of new beginnings.
  12. It's mostly just us hoping At ECB, KD said that Shockwave isn't going anywhere for a long time. It's one of their most reliable rides. Plus, it's on such a small plot of land, and you're right- it just fits in there. It would feel weird without it... And Anaconda is the first most likely to go anytime soon, I think. But that won't be for a long time because KD's got so much room to expand. And something I want to say is how they've just boxed themselves in. I was hoping they'd put i305 a little further away from Anaconda so they could allow a pathway to go between them to reach future expansion sites. But now, we have a small amount of ways to get past there, and unless we go completely around (which would take years) I don't know what they have up there sleeves....
  13. It seems as if the old family feel is going away, and no thrill rides for a while is even worse
  14. That's what I always suspected. I mean, neon puke is the complete opposite of black...
  15. It's an improvement, but it's still not the best. Nothing can beat the original color scheme.
  16. Yeah, Drop Tower is my favorite by far. I don't even see how it could compare to a Waveswinger, they're in entirely different leagues.
  17. ^Exactly. Well, KD is currently in the process of planting new flowers in the Grove, and from what I've heard it's quite a bit of flowers. It's crazy how much this park's changed since Paramount...
  18. Link? Proof? I've heard of the contract, but I'm not sure how much longer it's in effect.
  19. Then they use the same ones 100 more times.
  20. @K&M: I agree, I'll get working on that now, I'v started with a different gray texture. But thanks! @Retro_Gaga:I'll get working on that, I'm trying to come up with an attractive way to do so. Thanks! @CC9: Thanks, and I know, I know @Dotro: Okay, if you say so, I'll put a post together now and send it over to the Dump Place. I'll just use my last few screens, if not only this one. But really? I think Lone Star Gardens is MUCH better than anything I have to offer And thanks, I'll use some of those color suggestions and see how it turns out. About the foliage, I was too lazy to exit out and zero clearance again, so I didn't get any larger foliage in. Eventually I'll do so, foliage just hasn't been up high on my priority list for some reason. And the path...I don't even know what I was thinking with the path I would love to do a duo with you, for I think our styles would blend together very nicely, but I'll let this park stay solo. I think I should finally try to start and finish my own individual work before moving on to any duos, because I've yet to finish anything yet. But sometime in the near future I think we could set something up, including you testing this park out once I feel it's semi-completed. So be on the lookout! Thanks so much for all your advice, it really helped out A LOT and I know I'd have to repay you somehow. -Braztaz
  21. @Freefall: I wish Thanks, and I'll make some progress on that water ride eventually! As usual, the screen is VERY incomplete. ---- Combining state of the art technology and a coaster for all ages, Classic Creek's "[Ride Unnamed]" has been praised every year for it's innovative ride effects. Guests have the option to wear specially-designed 3D glasses which further enhance the experience, but if they chose not to they'll still be greeted with a great ride! The ride is located in the park's themed Bermuda Triangle. Designed by Premier Rides. -Braztaz
  22. I've heard that since most Ohio schools are back in session, late-August would be a GREAT time to go.
  23. ^Not cool, Kings Island. Not cool.
