  1. I live 15 min away, We haven't received any accumulation outside of a few flurries here and there. most certainly not anything as seen in that photo/
  2. I think they might be waiting for a bigger crane, before they go any higher.
  3. The only thing I ever see Cedars becoming is more Marina parking. I don't see them moving the park boundary much or at all, once Cedars does come down whenever that may be.
  4. The location of the station and lift hill were occupied by Calypso (now located in front of Wicked Twister and called Tiki Twirl) and Turnpike Cars with was removed. The second half of the ride is where the Good Time Theater was located and Dodgem (now located adjacent to maXair.
  5. The first Pointcast on Valravn construction is now live from Cedar Point's Youtube
  6. I asked them last night on Twitter this was thier response.
  7. The Spaghetti Coaster sponsored by Olive Garden. and they could go for "The longest AD on a roller coaster record"
  8. Maybe a part of this announcement will be a "comprehensive restoration" on Racer? Like what Knotts is doing
  9. i would love for them to bring back Jumbo Jet, Rotor, a Whip, Bayern Kurve, or even a Tumble Bug
  10. The only thing that has been said by anyone at the park is that there will be an announcement sometime in Aug.
  11. When the parks say "they are not responsible for items lost or damaged while riding" that means if you take anything on the ride with you and it gets lost or damaged the park is not liable for the item.
  12. A little nitpicky, I see. Do you also correct random strangers in line when you hear them say the wrong facts?
  13. Maybe MM forgot to click rush delivery when they ordered Goliath's chain.
  14. Things happen, and things come up. I'm sure there's a valid reason behind why they took off. Company Convince is a generic response. I read that Maverick hit it's ride time limit without a reset. It had to go offline to reset the system, or they couldn't run it anymore. I know several people that have operated Maverick in the past, and no one has ever mentioned a "ride time limit," nor have I ever heard of it on any other coaster. If there is indeed a 28 hour lockout issue, I can't imagine it's that common a thing to run into. So I can understand your friends never mentioning it. You are correct It's done every night after park close and in order for it to be done the last two brake positions behind the station need to be clear in order to do that test. Since the night before was an 8 o'clock close I could see them running into that 28 hr time limit.

  16. Rides like Skyscraper at Cedar Point. It's the only type of ride that still scares me.
  17. It looks like the post that holds the seats up are a little bit taller then other floorless coasters www.ultimaterollercoaster.com @cedarpointsnaps
  18. Based on his location .... I think he's biased to one of the so. cal parks (Magic Mountian).
  19. I'm assuming by the height of the second turnaround that if the ride were to go another lap it would be slow as hell. There are so many turns in directon that kill the speed. Also it's running nylon or polyurethane wheels it's going to run slower then if were to have steel wheels.
  20. Frontier Tavern is located in the first building on your left once you go through MF tunnel on the trail, if heading towards Maverick. It's the building that housed the wood carver for many years.
  21. I don't see how a roller coaster is ruining sight lines at an amusement park. Like is it prohibiting you from seeing another roller coaster ? These kind of complaints are the reason I stop posting on here so frequently, I hardly ever see anymore fun discussions on here. It's just people complaining, then others complain at those people.
  22. On many coasters, the brakes cycle to keep the speed of the train under control. I think that on ThunderBird, it is the brake fins dropping and raising in preparation for the launch. In the video I saw today, the sound is heard as the train moves onto the launch segment. The sound you are hearing are the metal contacts that release the restraints. As in the case of wingcoasters their are two contacts per car. The contacts are spring loaded so every time you hear the train go over one of those contacts you hear that noise. Here is a photo of what those contacts look like . Photo from Cedar Point
