  1. Except for the 2-3 airtime-less hills the trains crawl over. That's why I ride it. To go fast. Isn't that what the ride was built for? MF is incredibly boring and I305 is loads better. Fanboys who use the "its too intense" argument are just proving the fact that MF doesn't have any "intensity" at all.
  2. I haven't taken my kids to Hurricane Harbor, and this new Mr Six Splash Island addition looks terribly lame and isn't going to get us into the park either. A master blaster? You betcha!
  3. I think its pretty reliable to OBSERVE that the ride is, in fact, going a lot slower than it originally ran. So while some of you may be waiting for your "reliable source," I'm going to continue believing the ride goes 80MPH until the park confirms otherwise. I'm not going to just assume that because the park doesn't say anything that the ride isn't going the rumored speed (I believe Magic Mountain did this with Superman for YEARS). I pretty much trust my eyes judgement, so that sounds and looks about right to me. I don't need an "official source." Plus, I don't mind taking RCDB's word for it He's a pretty consistently good source.
  4. Nope. Never has been announced. http://rcdb.com/4520.htm RCDB is pretty reliable, are you suggesting he just pulled the number out of thin air? Obviously the rides not going as fast as it used to.
  5. ^^^lol, why weren't you allowed to be recording? Thanks for the photos! I hope they plan on adding "Gotham City" back to the top of the Backlot entrance!
  6. Dear God, I don't see how anyone could be unhappy with this show. Maybe I'm just blown away because it was the first time, but I like it more than Fantasmic simply because of the magnitude of the performance, and because of how complex and overwhelming the effects are! I loved the entire thing! The ending is awesome! See the show! Its worth the price of admission in my opinion!
  7. I love Colossus as well. The very back seat on that first drop provides some very strong airtime, it pulls you out of your seat. I'd be down for an I-Beam rehab.
  8. The security at Magic Mountain regarding line jumping is pretty lousy. Seems at times security would rather be "cool with" the people that cut in line or smoke in non-designated areas, instead of actually doing their jobs and enforcing the rules.
  9. But if there's anything we've learned from Six Flags over the past couple years, its that families are where the money's at! What are they doing, this is a huge letdown, what a step in the wrong direction for the park! Pffffft! Thank GOD someone finally got the "Magic Mountain should cater to families" head out of their ass. Like Robb's said, just make the park nice and pleasant, we've already learned from the eerily dead Thomas Town this isn't a place for kids still in their strollers. Like I said before, this ride is probably never going to go in. It's just too bad they already demolished all of those old buildings that could have been retrofitted, as we probably won't see any type of theming replace it.
  10. Looks like park guests aren't too happy about new trims either!
  11. Maybe they eventually decided the ride wasn't a good fit for the park (seeing as their frequency around California), they're going with something else next year, and we won't be getting this coaster after all. Doesn't seem like a stretch to me. Either way, this isn't a big deal...but we did lose some old buildings down in Psyclone Bay due to the beginning of construction which was kind of a bummer. Could have retrofitted them instead!
  12. Six Flags' employee training program at its best. What do you expect, you only dropped $100 bucks for it!
  13. ^Wow that was mighty decent of her! Also, for anyone that's interested I have gotten coupons from Burger King which have tickets for $27.50, so if you find them you don't have to do the buy one get one free. They come in useful for me because I have a pass and sometimes only bring one friend instead of 2 or 4.
  14. So what happens with the ratings of this ride? Does anyone who rode it in its beginning stages think it's going to substantially drop? I'm actually so happy and envious for everyone that got to ride this thing un-neutered! I really can't believe this is happening, as it appears the ride will never be the same again. Just another MF now, I suppose.
  15. I think it does when it so drastically effects the best part of the ride - the first drop and second hill. QFT
  16. Jumping to conclusions. It's very entertaining, actually... I don't know what to say about this other than I'm pretty dissapointed that this ride is no longer as intense as it started out to be. I was going to be making a stop out there at the end of this summer and was looking forward to experiencing the grey out and ridiculous forces of this ride, and I have to be honest but I'm not looking forward to ride it nearly as much.
  17. I despise trims. Release me from that chain and let'r rip. Thats what I'm riding for!
  18. One things for sure, this definitely isn't Intamin's fault!
  19. I know how it works and have been in the know about this for quite some time, as my inside source is one of the "Imagineers." But I don't feel comfortable talking about it either. Sorry guys! I still think its creepy though.
  20. I am really looking forward to Cars Land more than anything else, as Test Track was one of my favorite attractions at WDW. I love the look of that car too! I hope it doesn't have problems like other models (RR, TT) have in the past!
  21. ^In terms of proper business etiquette, why not get it open for Memorial Day? That way the kids can go ride it before school gets out for the summer, and can talk about it with their friends! Word of mouth is the best form of advertising after all, and it seems to me the earlier its said and done, the better.
  22. Woah now...if ANY coaster could pull off pink, it was definitely X. As for the stickers...I haven't liked them on Viper or Ninja trains at Magic Mountain, and I don't like them here. I don't care what kind of "revenue" they bring in, they look cheap, crappy and just scream "we're dying for any kind of cash to stay afloat!". Took the words right out of my mouth.
  23. *officially creeped out by Mickey* Nonetheless, its still amazing what Disney can do these days.
