  1. The Hippo loves word games! The Hippo worked on those letters for a while.... Slave, rave, raves, pea, peas, muse, ruse, leap, leaps, lap, laps, rump, rumps, plus, reap, reaps, slap, pear, pears, plum, plums, map, maps, rape, rapes, slurp, ramp, ramps, lure, lures, ream, reams, ram, rams, lame, lames, real, meal, meals, same, and the hippos favorite.....SLUM. Hippo ended up with 41... Have a great time on the klassy kruise!!!
  2. Indeed! As a fellow Hippo, I strongly encourage people to save teh Hippos!!!
  3. Strangely.....if you're that worried about loops, I'd maybe go on Revolution first. It's older, less "intimidating", and only has one loop. and yes, I'm sure everyone had that "what if" and "what does it feel like" before riding their first looping coaster. It's more a mind thing than anything else. Hope that helps.... Hippo
  4. The Hippo has not laughed that hard in a long time. The drunk Piers video is easily the funniest thing the Hippo has seen.......Well done Robb...and Piers!
  5. The Hippo has sent a few more E-mails...and even got the Brown Bear to send some as well.
  6. The Hippo has already won a bag-o-crap, and while he sure would like another, he will gladly E-mail Dan just for the enjoyment of spam. From: Phillip TheHippo To: mrt0ad13@aol.com; mrt0ad13@aol.com; mrt0ad13@aol.com; mrt0ad13@aol.com; mrt0ad13@aol.com Ok, so the Hippo is once again doing his duty(I said duty), to bring the non-moist one into this age beyond "you've got mail" and the myspaces. So, please makes yourself a facebook profile so this fuzzy Hippo can stop badgering you about it. Phillip the Hippo
  7. The Hippo has had many a giggle reading this report....and is slightly worried about his 2011 park visits....the Hippo is tiny and may be accidentally sat upon by some of this trip reports subjects....
  8. The Hippo made sure that Dan got E-mail from some non-people.... Heck...even the Hippo is on Facebook!!!
  9. Yeah, tall enough for the log flume too! Hippo's are the anti-Dan.
  10. Phew! No rules against stuffed animals! Good thing the Hippo got in line...only 7 hours to go.
  11. The Hippo thinks that food at a park is a underappreciated aspect. Sure, it's great to get on amazing rides, but good food just adds a little something. And it's difficult to do a lot of "ride" photos when your subjects are less than a foot tall.
  12. I'd first like to point out again, that it's the Hippo's first TR ever. So, either expectations should be fairly minimal....or really high because I'm a Hippo. And yes, of course the Brown Bear and I followed all the park rules, and got many a strange look from park goers and employees. Apparently, they don't see many fuzzy patrons... Now, on to the photos!! Time to get to packing! All right! Set in our driving bag, on our way to Kennywood!! Ahhhh! Made it to the hotel. Only a 6.5 hour drive from Michigan. Gotta have minty fresh breath for Kennywood!! Oh! I see something huge and green! See! We are here at Kennywood. It's amazing how people look at the Hippo when he asks them to take a photo of him. First stop....food! Bacon and cheese french fires. The Hippo approves of these. The Thunderbolt WE were very upset this ride was closed. As it's one of the few rides we can actually go on. Amusement parks are very "sizeist". NO Brown Bear! That water fountain has TEETH!! Laffin Sal. One of the creepiest things the Hippo has ever seen. Use step? I am. As a seat. Do paws count? How about feet? Of course...more food. Deep fried Oreos are amazing. Sticky Fingers. Enough said. They make those fences too high. The Hippo really wanted to play in the afro fountain. Goodbye Kennywood! It was awesome! The Hippo has to say this was his first "traditional" park. It was a great trip, and both myself and the Brown Bear got to experience old coasters, and some great food and scenery. I'll gladly make the trip again in a few years, it was well worth the drive. and now of course...I leave you with more food photos. Hippo and Brown Bear's first trip to a Sonic! Brown Bear loves the tots! On the way out, we hit Primanti Bros.! Sandwiches with fries and cole slaw on them...sign me up! Thanks again for reading the Hippo's first trip report!
  13. The Hippo was a little upset with the deletion of a post that he made at the .org site....so he sent this E-mail to them: Well, I'm kind of suprised that I would have to re-contact you, but hey, such is life. I had written a post with a question about your reasoning behind saving the Big Dipper, and how you decided that was the "one" if you had never ridden it. I see from checking that it has been deleted, and while I did look into your issues with the false "Save the Big Dipper" site, I'm disappointed that you decided to delete a legitimate question without possibly contacting the postee or possibly not even reading the post. I can't even fathom donating/helping with such a project that the "leads" of show such unprofessionalism and lack of interaction with those who are interested in your project. Since I am relatively close to this area, and have ridden the Dipper many times over the years, I can honestly say I will not bother supporting such a project. From my point of view, your attempts at removal/reconstruction are poorly dictated, and very poorly advertised. Also, considering the amount of exposure you have received lately from the "parody" of your site, you may want to think about being more open and communicative with those who you so desperately need for donations. I don't expect to gt a response from you considering your previous actions, so best of luck to you in your project. Phillip The Hippo P.S. And yes....I seriously am a Hippo. One who rides rollercoasters. .
  14. Well, since I'm new, I figured I'd post up. GT: The Squeeze Primarily play the COD series, playing a lot of WaW right now. Will be playing Borderlands when it's out, and of course MW2. So, track me down or add me if you'd like and we'll play some games.
  15. Well, I've been a lurker for years on this site, so I decided to finally register and begin posting. That being said, I am a Hippo. No, seriously. My name is Phillip. I LOVE amusement parks, but with the height/age/species restrictions, it's tough to enjoy the parks as much as people. I just took a ton of photos of my trip to Kennywood, so I hope to post those up soon. Outside of the rollercoaster "thingy", I live with my partner Brown Bear. He happens to be in a few pictures as well. I live in the great state of Michigan, freezing my fuzzy butt off now as it gets colder. Home park would probably be Cedar Point, but I've been around enough to know that CP isn't the "Holy Grail" of parks. Enjoy the Site, hope to be a bit more involved ....Thanks!
