  1. Thanks homeboy and ttkyj. Looks like it was a fun little ride.
  2. Except they're not really themeing it. Unless they're putting in some animatronics we didn't see in the video, I fail to see how it's really themed.
  3. Does anyone have a pic or something of the old Shoot the Rapids ride? I had never heard of it before today.
  4. Ha, it was a water ride all along. I've known since Maverick the next attraction would be a water ride. Only thing that threw me off for a bit was that darn report that the new ride wouldn't get you wet. This looks fun. I like the rapid/flume hybrid idea. I've always loved water rides personally. Up until I was about 12 Splash Mountain was my favorite ride in the world. The Whyte Lightning stuff is really puzzling, don't know why they made such a big deal out of that. Only complaint, I wish the big drop was last, not first. That could be anti-climactic. Now bring on the coaster in 2011 or 2012!
  5. LMAO! Hope she never goes to a Disney park, her head will be spinning with confusion.
  6. Yep, it's a water ride. I'm sure of it.
  7. It's the same here in Colorado with our "beloved" Vekoma SLC. Tell me about it! Nothing more sad/pathetic than hearing someone rave about something like a Vekoma SLC. My cousin lives in ND and visited this summer. He had never been on a roller coaster, and he thought Mind Eraser was about the best thing ever. Obviously I didn't have the heart to tell him that it's really a terrible coaster compared to what's out there.
  8. I for one would certainly love to see what Disney could do with a Marvel themed ride. Maybe top Spidey at IOA? Too bad there's no plans yet to do anything in their theme parks with Marvel though.
  9. I'm pretty much convinced at this point though that this is some type of water ride.
  10. Like it or not, CP has certain expectations that come with being one of the highest profile parks on the planet. I'm sorry, but I don't think a new coaster every 3/4 years is asking too much for a place like CP. Now if I was saying Kennywood should be adding a multi million dollar coaster every couple of years, that would be ridiculous, because they obviously are not in the same league as a place like CP, hence the expectations are completely different for a place like that. I'm not saying CP has to have a new coaster every 3 to 4 years or I'll throw a tantrum but I don't think that fans expecting that are asking too much is all. Not to mention there are tons of parks that are much lower on the amusement park food chain that do add a new coaster on average of every 3 to 4 years. So I don't see why that's asking too much of CP.
  11. And just for the record it will be 3 years since Maverick next season, so I don't think those hoping it's a new coaster next year are asking for too much.
  12. 1. Apollo's Chariot - Busch Garden Williamsburg 2. X - Six Flags Magic Mountain 3. Incredible Hulk - Islands of Adventure 4. Griffon - Busch Gardens Williamsburg 5. Goliath - Six Flags Magic Mountain 6. Dueling Dragons: Fire - Islands of Adventure 7. Xcelerator - Knott's Berry Farm 8. Evel Knievel - Six Flags St. Louis 9. Kraken - Seaworld Orlando 10. Alpengeist - Busch Gardens Williamsburg I've never had the opportunity to ride too many good woodies unfortunately. This list will be much different though this time next year I'm sure, as I'll be going to Mt Olympus, Kings Island, and Cedar Point for the first time next summer.
  13. I really don't expect a coaster, but it would be nice if that's what it was.
  14. ^Hallelujah, I'm sick of wondering what it is.
  15. Same. I haven't played it a whole lot yet, but from the little I have I can already tell it's the best comic book game I've ever played.
  16. And the Screamin' Mimi is actually a safe ride, lol.
  17. Reminds me a little bit of a ride called the Screamin Mimi we have at Water World in Colorado. Except you sit on like a board with wheels.
  18. Honestly I really don't mind what it is..... Just happy that it's something. What if it's just a new alcoholic beverage?
  19. Idiotic how? Given the fact that CP just seems to be playing mind games with their so called "clues", there are a lot of different possibilities for what this is going to be. What's wrong with speculating and guessing what it could be?
  20. Can't see any of those being it. My guess is a flyer is the project after whatever this is.
  21. One thing's for sure, CF is sure spending a boat load of money on their parks next year.
  22. Could'vbe just been trying to throw people off though. A water ride just seems to keep coming up, and it's been rumored since WWL's removal that their next ride after Maverick would be a water replacement for it. At this point I'm thinking it's that or a woodie.
  23. I'm surprised Ghost Rider doesn't get mentioned more in this category. I've seen a few people here mention it, but not many. For me it's the only coaster I've ever been on where I literally couldn't wait for it to end because my head felt like it was gonna split. Then I had a terrible headache for several hours after (and I almost never get headaches from roller coasters). Maybe I just got the wrong seat or something.
  24. I can't see CP ever adding something that themed. I'm not counting out a water ride with the hillbilly theme as a possibility, but I'm sure the themeing won't be anywhere near as extensive as something like that Wild West Falls.
  25. So maybe a white colored Intamin pre-fab called Whyte Lightning, themed to some kind of hillbilly/moonshine thing? I'd go for that.
