TPR's Middle America and IntimidaTOUR 2010 Trips!
Amy Baby replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I would also like to send out a huge thank you to Robb and Elissa for putting together a great event. For it being my first TPR event, I had a blast. I would also like to thank the great staff of Kings Dominion for being so helplful during the Q&A and during the backstage tour. Whenever I had a question someone was able to answer it with no problem. With this being said, I am most definately planning on trying to make a TPR trip sometime next year. Once again thanks to all who made this event possible. -
Phot TR: The road to East Coast Bash.
Amy Baby replied to thrillrider's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I had found some more pics of our trip to East Coast Bash and here they are. These pics are of my daughter and myself with Domo riding the Triple Spin and the Flying Eagles rides. She wanted Domo to ride with us and the ride ops said that it was ok. As we were checked on both rides, I had asked the friendly ride ops to take our picture and they were more than happy to do so. -

East Coast Bash was a blast and with it being my first ever TPR event, I am going to try and make a TPR trip next year. Everyone I had talked to was very friendly and welcoming. I would like to do a trip on the west side of the country and become an even bigger credit whore. As for I 305, I was impressed with how smooth and comfortable it was. Glad I was able to make it down there. -

Great pics!!! Here is one that got missed. BTW East Coast Bash was amazing. On another note, while at Dorney Park, we all felt like that we were the minority. Other than that, it is a great park. I got a photo op with Robb while on the backstage tour of I 305!!! What a nice guy. -
This is my first time ever posting pics on this site and I thought I would share some of my favorite pics of my many adventures with my daughter at our favorite parks. Some of these will have me in them. I hope you all enjoy them. This has to be my one of my daughters favorite ride ever. She loved that waterball that Cedar Point had. She loves her ferris wheels. We had breakfast with the Sesame Street gang at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Kate rode her first woodie at Kings Dominion. She did not want to get off of it. LOL Toward the end of the night we had our own little ERT on Avalanche. Kate and I rode the Sesame Street froggy hopper. We both enjoyed it. She needed to recharge her batteries. LOL She loves the swinging boat rides. She got to ride the Lil Clydes at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. My first time ever on Griffon. My first time ever on Diamondback. She loves Jr Gemini at Cedar Point.

Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"
Amy Baby replied to Teddymonster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have to agree that the worst ending ever for a coaster is the Adventure Express at Kings Island. You go up the final lift hill surrounded by big ass things that look like they are banging on drums and once you go over the top, the ride is done. As bad as an ending it has, its hilarious going through it. I laugh so hard everytime I ride it and have tears rolling down my cheeks. As for best coaster ending, I will have to think about it for a while. -

I just read a bunch of posts from that "other" site and could not understand any of it. Its like those "kids" have nothing better to do than just quote after each other and make absolutely no sense in what they are trying to say. To be honest with you all, I just read it to get a laugh every once in awhile. All of that nonsense cracks me up. I prefer this site any time. -

I want to start planning a trip to St Louis so I can go to that cool ass museum. I want a museum like that around my house. -
I came across this same story here in my hometown. My favorite news station posted a link on their website about it. I am all for things like that as long as it is for a good cause. I would probably get involved in something like that. Well here is what my news station had to say about it. http://www.wxyz.com/dpp/news/102-people-shoot-for-the-naked-roller-coaster-world-record1281370121086

What is the scariest ride in the world?
Amy Baby replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My vote goes to the Zipper rides. I went on one many years ago with my boyfriend who dragged me on it and I hated it. I don't get claustrophobic or anything, but sitting in that little cage just rolling around in it got to me. Ever since then I have avoided them at all costs. -

Their Corkscrew was running very good as to the no headbanging I experienced on it. Timbers is just a great coaster and its sad that its home is a hidden gem from the enthusiasts out there. As for the trip itself, it was a good to get away for the day. Thrillrder forgot to mention that in Michigan you are likely to see dead deer on the side of the road and we counted 8 of them round trip. For being a Vekoma, Thunderhawk was really enjoyable to me. The last time I rode it was when its home was at Geauga Lake and it hurt like none other. I had a good time. -

Nice pics. I really liked the one that you took of me jumping the Cadillac Car. That brought back so many memories when I did that. Also Kaitlyn looked like a monkey playing in the queue rails of Silver Comet. LOL. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Amy Baby replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I too was at the park on Monday and hated the amount of rain that fell. The only coasters that I managed to get on was Wicked Twister and Blue Streak. We made the most of it and spent just over an hour in the Red Garter to stay out of the rain. At around 6:30 I went to get a ride on Millenium and as soon as I set foot in the station it went down for weather. So I decided to go and join my boyfriend and our daughter and have an ERT on the Dodgems. I would have to say that was the most fun I have ever had on those things. The ride ops just let us stay on it and they restarted it after each cycle was done. Normally you would not be able to do that at Cedar Point but with the rain and all, I think the ride ops just wanted us to have fun at the end of the day. By the time we left the park, I was drenched from head to toe and I am still feeling the dampness. I hope to make it there again in the near future and hopefully go on a day where there is NO RAIN in the forecast. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
Amy Baby replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This past weekend my boyfriend and I decided to go to Kings Island with our daughter. The first thing we do is get our platinum passes and then head on into the park. Of course she couldnt wait to ride a coaster so our first coaster of the day was Woodstock Express. Then we head on to the back of the park to ride The Beast. I go to ride first and to get a parent swap form for the day. I ride it, get the form and as soon as I got it, I remembered that Kings Island is the only park that I know of that has little cages on the platforms of the rides for little ones to sit in and wait for their parents. We decided to use them instead of the parent swap form. Those kiddie pens saved us a lot of time and we were able to ride together. If you were wondering how our daughter managed, well she did great. I think we will be using them again the next time we go down to Kings Isand. IMO all parks should have something like that. Being a parent, I think those are one of the greatest inventions ever at an amusement park. -

I have an option for Son of Beast--- tear it down and use all that great wood for repairs for Beast, Racer, and the kiddie coaster. Anyone agree with me?? -
Roller Coasters in the RAW on Blu-Ray
Amy Baby replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Looks like I am going to have to save up some money for a blu ray player now!!! This gives me the urge to get one!!! Watching coaster videos in high def would be amazing. -
Hey Gary, the reason why the supports for Great Bear are positioned that way is that the park and the city had issues when it came to putting them in the water. I read online many years back and found that out myself. So they had to work around the water. Here is the link to where you can find your answer. http://www.coastergallery.com/2000/hp07.html Hope that helps you out.

Yesterday CBS's new show Undercover Boss involved the CEO of Herschend Family Entertainment going undercover to a few of their properties and actually trying to work as a regular employee. It was pretty good and now I kinda want to go to Silver Dollar City where most of the show was filmed at. Did anyone else get to see the episode?? If not, I am pretty sure that it will be On Demand by Comcast. Let me know if you saw the show.
