OK, according to coastercounter.com, Robb has been to La Ronde, and according to Elissa on the NE Trip board, she's never been there. The question says "Robb & Elissa," so if the question means have they both been there, the answer is false. If it's asking if one of them has been there, the answer is true. 10. 14: Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, Hong Kong Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Disneyland Paris - Walt Disney Studios Park, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, River Country I'm not sure where else I could have been wrong! This research has killed me! Edit: Nevermind! Go me!
  2. What is great about Silver Comet? I know judging a ride based on a POV is frowned upon (and I typically avoid doing it), but it looks like a great first drop with two airtime hills, then a bunch of the slow, swooping CCI turns after that and a decent looking airtime hill right before the brakes. Is there something in there that a POV fails to show about the ride's overall quality?

  4. ^Sweet! Although I do have one question for clarification. For #10, does that include water parks?
  5. Well turds. I thought I had most of those right. Can we re-submit new guesses?

  7. ^They could use topper track in some places, I'm sure that would help greatly while letting it keep its woodie status. One of the biggest things they could do is slightly reprofile the turn after the first drop and some of the other turns along the course that aren't engineered that well. Beast's problem is that they have it taking these turns and that double helix going WAY too fast, and it just murders the track and structure. At that point, your only options are constant (daily) maintenance, reprofiling, or trim brakes. Guess which one is cheapest? That's the rub.
  8. ^The CGA crazies talking about getting a Maverick clone have been challenging the SFA and midwest crazies lately.
  9. ^I honestly meant sh*t a brick in a bad way. The purists would burn the mofo down before they let it become a steel coaster. As would I. I'll take it trimmed up and rough before it ever turns into a steel coaster traipse through the woods. Then it would be a glorified mine train. But I guess that's all opinion.
  10. ^If you really wanna see some people sh*t a brick, put Iron Horse track on The Beast.
  11. I guess the only major question remaining is whether or not the trims return to the 3rd hill. I suppose that decision will come after testing.
  12. Try working at a Skycoaster. In four years, I heard some of the most hilarious crap come out of people's mouths as they were being winched up and immediately after pulling the ripcord. Now that's entertainment.
  13. ^^Grizzly was running fantastically well last year after some extensive rehab in the offseason.
  14. Maybe the kiddie coaster is actually giant piles of dirt covered with plastic sheets for children to slide down!
  15. Well the best sex you ever had might be with a hooker that's now dead, but that doesn't make the experience any worse. Disclaimer: The above is not based on actual facts. Yeah, but what if you tried to have sex with her now?
  16. Does anyone else think it's silly that SBNO coasters are still ranked? How can a coaster that didn't run in 2010 be the 9th or 20th best coaster of 2010?
  17. I'm the biggest Rampage fanboy you'll find, and I have it ranked #8 on my list. I can be honest, it's not the best I've ridden or the best in the world, but it definitely deserves the ranking it has now.
  18. This is great. The only thing the trim really killed was the first drop and 2nd hill, and the rest of the ride after that was still VERY good. So the only question that remains now is how much speed will be bled off in the first turn and how much airtime will remain on the 2nd hill.
  19. Is anyone else having major trouble getting Mitch's page to load? I haven't been able to open it since last night.
  20. ^That's why I'm so anxious to see how Mountain Flyer turns out. They got outside that 80-100 foot "comfort zone" of theirs and took a chance with a monster terrain coaster that might just blow away everything else they or anyone else has ever built. Then again, it could be just a super sized version of all their other coasters. Unfortunately, only a lucky few of us will even get to experience it (hence why I might sell a kidney to go to China in 2012).
  21. I'd say so. It has a whole land themed around it, a nice build-up to it (the ride is distanced from all the others), nice natural plants, a better theme than TTD (let's theme it after Dragsters! Cause, you know, both go fast, huh?), a nice soundtrack in the station and around the ride (Eye of the Tiger, get it?), and the ride used to have a really nice que (before the attack of the cable). TTD is nice and does have better restrainsts, but its theme is not as good in my eyes. However, theming doesn't make a wild mouse great, and many great hypers do fine without any theme. One thing I dislike about KK is the fact that you basically just sit there in silence before launch. The engine sounds and 'Christmas tree lights' on TTD are really cool, and definitely heighten the experience, albeit being just a small touch. I'm still confused as to how a themed area of a park counts as theming for KK. Unless you're turned around looking at the tiger cage and trees behind the ride, I don't see how that's part of the theming for the actual ride itself. The actual ride itself has some foliage and I guess what you could call a "themed" station (but most coasters have some sort of theme for their station). The overall ride experience between TTD and KK isn't even remotely close. As I said before, CP isn't known for their theming elements on rides, but TTD is definitely a unique experience. And a question for the poster that said drag racing was a bad theme for a coaster, how in the world does that even make any sense???? It takes off and accelerates the same way a dragster would, so how is that a bad theme? What does going 128 mph have to do with tigers and jungles??? At least TTD's theme makes sense. Sheesh.
  22. Not surprising to see Voyage drop after some of the negative reviews it got this year. I'm really interested to see what will happen in the next couple years once the Timberliners get rolling on it. Right now we have a good basis to see the direction it was heading in the polls with the PTCs still on it, and we'll see just what kind of difference the new trains will make. And by the way, HELL YEAH FOR RAMPAGE!!!!! So glad to see it climbing two years in a row after it had been dropping a few spots every year since it opened, and it's the #2 CCI in the rankings! Thank you to everyone who gave love to this under-appreciated coaster!
  23. ^I can't wait for the obligatory "WHY ARNT WE GETTING A NEW COAZTERRRRR?????" comments under the video.
