  1. I was there this Satuday and everything was open except the River Rafting Ride. They looked prepared to open it and even had the little lifeguard out there but you could see the techies working on it. Splash Water Falls and Roar stopped working for a little bit. Roar was painfull... This was my first trip up there and I had a very good day with very little waits the longest being Tony Hawk which was about 15-20 mins towards the end of the day. Kong free re-ride in the back seat has some airtime just remember to push you body and head back against the rest or you'll get a headache. V2 in the back seat was like skydiving and we got to re-ride 3 times in a row.
  2. The thought of riding through Tatsu's pretzel loop with Batman's trains makes me cringe. ha ha ha ha point well taken
  3. That is a much better response than your original and I appreciate it. I race cars as a hobby and there are many aspects of different vehicles that I find appealing. I adore exotics for their beauty prowess, I like muscle cars for their grunt and persona, but I love Go-Karts for their fun. Has the slowest top speed of any vehicle I drive but is all around a lot more exciting. So people see that differently and that is fine.
  4. You disagree with a lot of things... . Riddlers feels horribly slow due to the fact it slows down so much at the apex of its loops and turns. Scream! for what it is was more entertaining to myself and my guests. I'd rather have the illusion of speed than going fast with the illusion of slow. A quick car can be more fun than a fast car. I find Scream! more intense than Riddler's. I could personally take a nap on Riddler's as it induces the urge itself without trying. This is merely based on perception so to each his own.
  5. I enjoy scream more than Riddlers.... The first time I went on Riddlers I got bored since it felt so slow... First time I went on Scream! I felt it carried its speed much better and was much more intense... I liked it so much I rode it 4 more times that day. Front row of course.
  6. Yes, I thought about that and came to the same end as you... It's Universal. It doesn't need to be the most intense ride ever made... just somethng that has a lasting re-ride appeal. With marketing you can spin anything the way you want it to look like. I.E. The ride would be taking liberties of the Visual Aspect of the Movie and adding its own small plot. The Problem with the fast and the furious is each movie was different with no distinct look or feel to them with the exception of racing. You could do a ride based on it and prolly do it easier and cheaper than my speed racer concept. Either Way... a Dueling launch coaster side by side would be cool and I would be happy to see either one go up.
  7. Yes Commercially a failure and the Generation problem can be percieved as an issue. You however wouldn't market it in such a way to try and draw people soley based on the it's history. The marketing side would be the ride elements like they did with Tatsu and X-2. THe movie tie-in just gives it a base and would enable Six Flags to say something like, "You won't just ride this coaster... You'll live it" A very family friendly theme though as Petrol heads love cars... and petrol heads worst enemy the tree hugger appreciate pretty colors. Inversions don't need to be a major premise but since it would be enclosed you would need to save space some way while giving you a better punch for your space requirement. I mentioned the Ring Racer cousin before to perhaps counteract such a problem by applying breaks after the launch. Note: Maverick Reference was for its 2nd launch.
  8. Purely for imagination purposes. You could do a lot with it though. Imagine near the end of the ride both cars stop next to each other. Loudspeakers placed on both sides to simulate the trains yelling at eachother.... saying this ends tonight... vroom engines.. light turns green and launch. Trains can be themed as the Mach 5 and the other as something else. Bright colors, fog, fake headlights at certain turns. Something like that can be programmed to do different things for certain seasons. Like Disney changing up Space this year like TKDL space for halloween
  9. What about a Speed Racer themed ride? Think dualing Rockn Roller Coaster Married Maverick who's cousins included Flight of Fear and Ring Racer? Finish Line: http://www.jmv.fi/images/fogscreen.jpg & http://performative.files.wordpress.com/2007/01/tunnel_of_light_1_s.jpg Marketing Poster: http://www.kupypspwallpapers.info/psp-wallpapers/speed-racer-movie-2nd-psp-wallpaper.jpg
  10. I went on Saturday and the crowds were non-existent with the exception of X-2 and Terminator. Everything else was pretty much wait 2 trains and you got to ride. Goliath was simply shuffle from car to car since there were no full trains. The Q-bots were down which was sad since the line for Terminator was 2 hours and only had 1 train. X-2 had some problems testing in the morning so they wouldn't let you stand in line at park opening.
  11. Obviously it would take up some room but a lot less than another Scream. The soup bowl would make it less obtrusive of a structure to the horizon. http://image22.webshots.com/22/3/33/26/214133326jADMQq_ph.jpg
  12. I can imagine them wanting to build it partially underground say 40-50FT so the prevailing structure would only need to be another 75ft or so. (idk i'm not an engineer) Make it look hidden or look like a blimp hangar for easy access for maintenance. Imagine the ride though... Pitch black with some fog, lights, perhaps even a flame burst, and music. They can make the intro rather intense like red flashing lights, sirens, fake staff shouting over intercom, building collapsing... then BAM launch. Or even as someone suggested a Batman Theme. The launch bay could be a cheap Night Time set and you see the Bat Signal. Then the tunnel being the bat cave. For the ride aspect simply have it pitch black with some music, light up figures like the Mummy Ride, Flame burst in pitch black would be sweet. They could really do a lot in the que and pre-launch to make the ride memorable. Sorry for rambling but I’ve been fantasizing about an epic west coast indoor coaster since 2003.
  13. I've done that... An amped up Flight of Fear (Thanx previous poster) would be nice to have since traveling out of state for theme parks isn't a simple luxury.
  14. Off Topic: I always thought it would be cool if someone made a ride like Joker's Jinx an indoor coaster. I would have even liked Flashback enclosed in a pich back building. Money would be a huge factor.
