Very well said... and I admire you for it...

^^
Hey Congratulations... thats awesome...
-
^^
I was thinking the SAME thing... I have a tough time believing that lowing the skyride was always in the plan... either way... I'm glad the skyride is IN the plan at all... most parks have dismantled the skyride... cannot wait until it all opens (skyride/cheetah hunt)...
-
Wow... I am really interested in this... if I were able to attend, I'd be my partner and I... so two total...
-
Also using Internet Explorer 8... with a so-so connection... and it loaded in about 4-5 seconds...
-
Has anybody else got (and is possibly playing) Mario Sports Mix (Wii)... a bit mindless, but totally fun!...
-

Its funny that BGT has yet to change it out on their website yet... Still says Cheetah Chase... I'm sure it will change soon enough though... Sand Serpent... not too bad... I actually sort of like that name...
-
Just finished "Donkey Kong Country Returns" and good lord nearly busted several veins in my head... that was SO difficult... but oh so satisfying... now I'm trying it again... and not finding it NEARLY as difficult... yeah, its very tough... but not so much where it isn't fun...
Also just ordered Mario Sports Mix on Amazon (due to the $10 credit they are currently offering)... should be receiving that next week sometime...
and will continue with DKCR in the meantime... as well as Super Mario All Stars...

I'm very curious about that too...
-
I generally choose the back row of Kumba... and to me, that sucker has never run better... smoother, faster and louder (note the ear plugs on all the employees)... I LOVE that coaster...
-
Not so much an individual song... but the newest Jimmy Eat World disc (Invented... I think thats the name of it anyways)... going to see them on Friday night and brushing up on some of their tunes again...

Hey aimster - your last TR: with your "joining a Brazilian tour group", then "commandeering of anothers flag" almost made me pee my pants... it made my somewhat crappy night at work (yeah, was reading it during the graveyard shift) SO much better...
...and never tried the Zambia Smoke House, but sounds like a great deal... as well as those Spaghetti & Balls (Tee Hee)... I also like the new Pizza buffet (but would MUCH rather have the hospitality house back ) for $9.99 (+passholder discount makes it even less) which is "all you care to eat"... especially after a couple of beers.. Mmmmm.. coasters, beer and pizza.. YUM-O...
...awesome pictures... VERY entertaining TR... Oh... and wonderpup is adorable... keep it up...

First - Scorpion - Where's the second train?
Second - Where are the Clydesdales?
Third - Is the Garden Café the former Hospitality House? Looked familiar, but didn't know for sure.
Fourth - Wasn't the Desert Grill originally a Fest Haus, just like the one in BGW?
Fifth - Wasn't there a dolphin show at some point? If so, where was it?
Sixth - Settle this debate. A guy in line was trying to tell me that each of the five big coasters has a twin in BGW. Python = Loch Ness Monster, Montu = Alpengeist, Kumba = Apollo's Chariot, SheiKra = Griffon, and Cheetah Hunt = TBD. I disagree. Who's right?
Thank you for reading, constructive and destructive criticism is welcome and appreciated.
First - More than likely torn apart in a maintenence bay being used for parts.
Second - The Clydesdales went the way of the Dodo not all too long after Busch/InBev sold the parks to Blackstone.
Third - Yes, that is the former Hospitality House.
Forth - Yeah, the Desert Grill is BGTs equivalent to Fest Haus in BGW
Fifth - The Dolphin show was in the theatre that now houses the Sesame Street Film Festival/Pirates 4D. It used to be an open air stadium. It was closed in. A/C added. And became the 3D Film theater which you see now.
Sixth - I don't know if all the coasters in each park are counterparts of each other...
But here it goes if you were to pair some of them up.
Python=Loch Ness Monster (a very poor match up... hey they are both products of Arrow... and painted yellow...)
Montu=Alpengeist
Kumba=Drachen Fire (a coaster built by arrow, which was closed down and removed due roughness and low ridership. It was located behind the former Big Bad Wolf site)
SheiKra=Griffon
Cheetah Hunt=(maybe)New BGW 2012 coaster.

If you can make it go Atlanta for Easter, you can meet some TPR Gays at Six Flags for my annual Godless Heathen Birthday weekend

That sounds like a friggin blast...

I was on the second train, open for the public on Lion... not sure which side you were on... but if you waited at the transfer track for a bit after that first run, it was because they had to check the trains again due to that restraint not being locked... turns out the guest wasn't able to ride due to his size, but seriously, how did that slip by the loaders?!... I only rode each train once... had to get back to Orlando to work... but cannot wait until Wednesday when I give them another spin... many more spins in fact... and you are absolutely correct... Tiger WAS smoother... I just seemed to have more fun on Lion this go around... Oh, and I didn't have my camera... my partner needed the camera for work (I went to BGT with a friend)... That's why I'm going back on Wednesday so my partner can enjoy too... and he's never seen Cirque Dreams... so a few beers, coasters and shows... overall should be a great day off from work...

I also was at BGT yesterday for the opening of Gwazi... got there about 8:45a... and walked directly to Gwazi... and much to our delight, there was hardly anybody there... the operation first thing in the morning was spotty (they nearly sent a Lion train with one restraint unlocked...)... the loading overall was quicker than I was expecting... the loading was actually not that bad... it was the physical dispatchers which were not on their game early in the morning (honestly seeming to not pay all too much attention to what was happening on the load platform)... the "loading" teams actually, seemed to be getting impatient with the dispatchers while waiting for the trains to depart... as for the trains themselves... with the PTC trains, I used to enjoy Tiger, ten fold over Lion... but that was mainly due to Tiger being marginally less rough than Lion... I've since become a "switch hitter" and now love Lion quite a bit more than Tiger... it just seemed to be more fun overall... the new trains have helped this ride immensly... no more headaches... no more pain... just a brisk fun, dare I say, pleasant ride... this is what the coaster should have been all along... I'm in love with Gwazi all over again...

The photo of the woman about to beat the peacock with a stick is one of my all time favorites!
I second that...

^^
It doesn't... I could have sworn they did when I was there this past September... I guess I could be mistaken though... (just asked my partner when he got home from work about Viper's seatbelts... when I suggested retractable, he looked at me like I was crazy!!... You are correct that Viper DOES have similar set up to Gwazi's... not sure why I recall otherwise...)
Anyways... JUST got back from BGT and sadly Gwazi wasn't even testing... going back tomorrow for the official opening... really looking forward to it...
-
^^
I hate to say, that I doubt that it was opening day jitters... dispatch times on Gwazi have always been painfully slow beyond belief... I was in Six Flags Great America last September... and the ride ops on Viper had dispatched the loading train as the other one was just pulling back in... of course it helps that the Viper trains have retractable seatbelts... and the ops check the belts and the lapbars in one swoop... it was wonderful...
...Anyways, I'm heading to BGT right now... dodging raindrops (should have went yesterday, as it was suggested to me... but at least I'm sober now...) and hoping Gwazi is in operation... fingers crossed...

Glad to hear/see a human or two have ridden Gwazi... I was hoping for a "soft re-opening" (and am still keeping my eye on the blogs with fingers crossed) as I have the next couple of days off from work, and would run there in a heartbeat if it opened early...
Hey bro, RollermanDan said they are soft opening the ride today. I really wish I could make it down there but the 2 hour drive is a gamble for soft opening.
MAN... thanks for the information... I wish I would have known an hour ago... I've already consumed several beers... and its an hour away for me (not far, sober... but buzzed... eh...)... Perhaps tomorrow if the coaster is still open to the public... this is nothing but great news... I can't wait...

In regards to Donkey Kong Country Returns:
I've made it up to the 6th world... and believe me... it wasn't easy... blood, sweat and tears (no kidding, really...)... beautiful game... but it's DAMN tough!!!... I'm considering starting over, since I haven't played for many weeks... I'm in no rush though...
Still fiddling with Sonic Colors (on my second go through), which ROCKS!!! as well as Lost in Shadow (which ALSO rocks!)... throw Super Mario All Stars Anniversary Edition in for good measure...
Considering getting Mario Sports Mix...
Certainly getting Conduit 2 (which was delayed 'til March in the US)...

Awesome friggin pictures... too bad the weather was crappy (and it WAS crappy yesterday...)... and some bad luck coaster wise too... but the pictures make up for it (for us at least...)... I'm in love with both Cheetah Hunt (more than ever) and waiting ever so impatiently to ride Gwazi on Saturday... can't wait... thanks for sharing those great pics...

Taken 16JAN. Shitty iphone camera. Sorry.
Actually, that was the ONLY video of the Gwazi Millenium Flyer I could find... not bad... not bad at all... now to wipe up the drool and magically fast forward to Saturday...
Coasters you have been on that are gone now
