  1. I have a few. One is Delusion in LA. I went last year. It's a more of a play with groups of 10 having to participate. I loved it for the fact that it took place in a mansion which was creepy enough but not knowing what to expect. This year it's in a new location with a new back story and takes place inside a church. Having to go get the key from grandma's neck who was sitting in a bathtub at the end of a long creepy hallway (let's just say I didn't make it) and the events afterwards are etched into my brain for eternity. Another one is Big Worm's Sherwood Scares in Northridge CA. It surpasses even Universal quality from a home haunt. The storyline from start to finish makes sense. The sets are amazing. Admission is only $3 and goes to Cystic Fibrosis. The talent surpassed some of those at Knott's and Universal. They loved what they are doing and it shows. I was screaming in every single room and now I will have nightmares from "the man in the lake". BUT the one that stands out the most is Freakling Brother's Trilogy Of Terror in Las Vegas NV. Having a free night in Vegas I did some research online and came across this haunt. They have been doing this for 20 years. They have 3 houses Circus of Terror, Castle Vampyre and Gates of Hell (this one is R rated and requires a waiver signed and must be 17 years old to enter). The setup is located in a parking lot in front of a movie theater about 10 miles from the strip. Really looks as if it was a carnival where you set foot inside the houses only to never come out (see the light of day or night again). Circus of Terror is the tamest of the 3 but you do have to wait for things to happen inside as well as figure out to advance in some of the rooms. It is definitely dark and narrow in some places thus single file. The ending is one that terrified me because I was picked to "feed the beast". There is a short "mirror maze"that actually is much better than Knott's Scary Farm's Mirror Mirror maze. Castle Vampyre was my favorite of the 3. This maze is definitely darker than Circus of Terror. There are several rooms where we had to figure out what to do to advance. Some unique effects I was sad that weren't even thought of for this years Trapped at Knott's Scary Farm. I don't want to give away anything but even to this day we are talking about this maze. The ending didn't make us run away because we just stood there watching in awe. I noticed several groups leaving being escorted out "chicken exits". Yes there are "chicken exits" incase you get too scared. We come to the final house The Gates of Hell. This is where you have to sign a waiver in order to enter. There is a safe word which this year was "Purgatory". This house is unlike others. They will PUSH, SHOVE, GRAB, YELL, CURSE, and do worse things to you in here including being shocked. Yes shocked. There are several rooms where we thought Trapped would be like this year but apparently isn't which is sad. I can see where someone might be scared enough to say the safe word. I almost did in the first room alone but curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to see what was in store for me. The ending did have me running out but mainly because of the room prior to the ending and the actual ending. They do get in your face, shove, push, curse, grab, try to do as much as they can to you with in reason of course. I do recommend that if you go there is a Fear Pass for all 3 attractions that saves you money as well as the Fast Pass which includes a tshirt. They do strict line control so it is just your group that goes into each house which makes for a better experience than at some of the theme parks. Nothing in my mind can compare to Gates of Hell or any of the 2 other houses.
  2. Due to where I work I've met a ton of soap stars, a couple of celebrities including Jerry O'Connell once during the holidays he came thru my checkout lane and spent a couple hundred dollars. Musicians: All the members of Aerosmith (Steven Tyler 3 times over) He even signed a picture of me and him and has a scarf that a friend made on one of his mic stands. Jon Bon Jovi last March at a photo op thru his fan club. I love my group photo because I was standing next to him with my hand on his shoulder. But for him to turn to me, make eye contact, smile and nod to walk over to him was PRICELESS. Totally had me off guard because I was NOT expecting that from him. Best night of my life.
  3. Ty i'm sick of ppl bashing SFMM and Terminator the Ride. I haven't had the chance to travel outside of CA much to ride much of anything. Most of those rides have been steel coasters so i don't have the wide range of coasters to compare Terminator to at all. SFMM has tried really hard with this ride and the park has a major winner on it's hands. I know there are coaster enthusiasts on this board who have gone places i can only dream about and ridden many more wooden coasters than i'll ever get to ride and thus compare Terminator to. That's fine. Nothing wrong with that. Everyone has their own opinions of the ride. I will say that the average SFMM guest will go thru the que and preshows and not care what row they are placed in. The preshows are designed to hold a train full of riders. If you follow the storyline then you are being chased by terminators and the only way out is via this train. So basically there is this urgency to get you to safety as quickly as possible if you want to live. Thus the employee directing guests to rows. I like that. It makes the whole terminators after us make sense and we need to move quickly etc. If you have to ask to wait for the front or back and have to wait rather than board a row and immediately get into the train then it takes away from the whole preshow and the storyline of urgency. Since there is an on board soundtrack it makes complete sense when you don't have to wait for a long while after exiting the preshows. SFMM does have a hit on their hands with Terminator and the average guest will enjoy this ride as well as enthusiasts. The park is finally heading in the right direction. I am a huge Disneyland Disney buff. Going there really often as much as i can fit in my visits but after visiting Magic Mt my Disney visits might be less frequent. Sorry but overall the parks can not compare in cleanliness and employee staffing and overall feel of the park. SFMM has really changed and my eyes are opened to this change. It is a decent park and located closer to my house than Disney is. Also the themeing of Terminator has really far exceeded any expectations i had and thus i feel is ABOVE or equal to that of Disney or anything Disney can put out. Lately Disney has gone lack of themeing etc and just for quantity over quality and it really really shows. SFMM put out Terminator and totally blew me away. What is really interesting is the fact that Terminator to me is up there with Universal and almost a Haunt experience going thru the preshow rooms. Something that i never thought i could experience at SFMM.
  4. Ok diss me if you must but i love the preshow to Rock N Rollercoaster.I will be experiencing it again in 8 days and yes going thru the preshow room for all 30 rides in one day. I can mimic the whole preshow word for word too...lol I LOVED the preshow rooms all 3 of Terminator. It is part of the ride experience. The general audience who waits in a regular line 30,40,50, 60 + minutes won't mind going thru the preshows at all. It builds to the ride and gives you the basic storyline you need before entering the station to board the train (make your escape). For coaster enthusiasts like some i can see why going thru the preshow is a bit tiring and repeatitive. Yes we can surely skip the preshow but for someone visiting SFMM that day and riding only once or twice the preshow is definitely needed. One thing i was relieved to see was the fact there were no Terminators other than in the last preshow room. I was scared as it was especially going thru the rooms. But i scare easily. As far as requesting a specific row. On KROQ's event the only time we never really requested a row was our first ride. After that the ride op ususally asked us if we wanted front, back or middle. I did notice the further back you are the more i could experience the "pops of airtime". When i was in the front not so much. The onboard audio soundtrack was definitely on the high side on Thursday. If it is tuned down now too low (from the sounds of it) then that isn't good either. It's funny now we joke around with the whole "TAKE THE TUNNEL!!!" if only others know what we're talking about. Ok enough of my rant for now. And i haven't ridden many wooden coasters especially outside of CA. I am not lucky enough to go travel to ride coasters to compare them but for CA it is my #1 over Ghostrider.
  5. I registered me and UberBeavis will be there. Didn't want to wait i even got out of bed to register this morning before going back to Terminator Salvation the Ride sleep and good dreams of last night I'm super glad to hear this event will be limited just like West Coast Bash and other TPR events. This makes me happy. Now if the next month can't come soon enough. We'll see everyone there. Thanks again Robb. You rock!!!
  6. Couldn't agree with you more Robb. Six Flags Management knows what they are doing and they do read these boards and listen to us feedback in person etc. I give them credit and kudos for only having so much time to get things ready for us and Media Day as well. I'm sure things will be "TWEEKED" as they call it in the days to come. Yesterday we were the "guinea pigs" so to speak...lol TAKE THE TUNNEL!!!!
  7. All i can say is i went into the KROQ event with low expecations and somehow came away completely blown away. I tried to stay away from knowing too much til i actually experienced it myself. As far as Magic Mt and management kudos on this ride and themeing and everything about the ride. From the preshows rooms (yes volume was a tad high) i had imagined nothing as elaborate as what they put forth. It really did make you feel like you were in a "bunker" hiding from the machines er Terminators. The antsy general hurry up don't touch anything in the videos lol. Of course the apocolypitic Magic Mt was footage was wow. The last room however a few effects weren't working but no biggie. The park president gave us a little hint but it wasn't even plugged in to try it. Hopefully it will be fully functional in the future to try out. The employees seem to fit into character try to keep it up and keep us all in the role playing we have to hurry to the trains urgency. The station is small but it WORKS for me anyways. Remember you're in a bunker trying to escape the machines. Managed to get 19 rides in and could have gone for way more but didn't push ourselves any. Plenty of rides for me. Rode in the front (liked almost as good as the back), back and even middle countless times. I think we rode in every single row or thereabouts. The trains themselves very detailed and comfy. Left side is more intense i think than the right side. The trains fit. The soundtrack onboard audio too loud. (We did tell the park president this) so someone in management does know. The lifthill faster than i thought figured it would be. The ride itself smooth and fast almost going nonstop til the final breaks. A little pops of air every now and then. Yes Elissa pops of air i experienced first hand. I love that. Just enough for me actually. I love the "Here they come!!!" out of the speakers at the top of the lifthill and i found myself saying that over and over as we rode. "Take the tunnel" i can't stop hearing that as well right now even. UberBeavis kept yelling it and got looks from others. Love the station fly by. Can't wait to see the full tunnel effects but even with no effects as of yesterday still amazing and gives the ride a unique feel to it. I swear twists and turns and not knowning which way the train is going etc. At night this is an amazing ride into almost pitch darkness. Since it is over by Deja Vu the only lighting was from the lifthill and DejaVu's station. Totally amazing when we would turn into completely darkness at the first drop. I could go on and on about this ride. Yes having to go thru the Preshow rooms over and over is a bit much but it does give time to take a breather and actually absorb more of the preshow films. It took me a few times to actually see the person running in the background of the first video in the first room. The FIRE effects totally surprised me. I had heard it had FIRE but when it actually went off i nearly jumped the first time. It was hard to talk to your partner onboard against the audio volume but you really don't need to be having a conversation while riding a ride anyways. I rate it a 10 out of a 10. Magic Mt really came away with a winner here. And for the record I'm almost Disney'd out. If Magic Mt management keeps going in this sort of direction and puts out more attractions like this one then Disney will be getting less and less visits from me. That's saying alot since most of my time is spent at Disney. I will definitely be there on June 28th already registered and paid. UberBeavis will too.
  8. If it makes you feel any better i have not been to a media day period. Uberbeavis has been to almost all of them but me not a one. I am getting more and more excited for tonight actually. I can't wait. FIRE!!!! Yipee. I love FIRE. Bring it on!!!!
  9. Of course i didn't even notice. Me bad. I just noticed how FAST it is FLYING around the track. I am so excited for tonight. I just wanna ride.
  10. I'm anxious to hear and read reports of opening weekend particularly Saturday since i work in the evening. But i'm lucky enough to go tomorrow night so i really don't have to worry about the opening day crowds. Hey i say if you're willing to wait in a long line for the ride go for it. I know i've traveled miles and miles to ride a new ride to wait in an hour plus line for the ride. Kudos to you. Have fun on Saturday. Tomorrow can't come soon enough.
  11. Cool thanks for the advice. However we do not have season passes. And we're also taking 2 guests one each so we'll be there for the 7:30pm meet up.
  12. See you there tomorrow. I so can't wait. My main objective to ride Terminator of course.
  13. Sounds good Robb. Hopefully we'll be there at 5pm check in is the plan. If not we'll definitely be there at 7:30pm by Terminator. I am there for that ride and that ride only so i don't care what the line is like. That's what tomorrow evening is for. My main objective.
  14. That's good to know. Thanks Robb. At least I'm going thanks to KROQ. Night rides on Terminator I so can't wait.
  15. Oh man oh man. Now i'm going to not get any sleep tonight and just keep checking this site and thread over and over again. Why do i have to wait> I hate waiting. I am not patient lol...can't tomorrow get here soon enough and this good news too? LoL
  16. I've taken a few Bon Jovi fans and friends from out of town to the Hollywood sign as close as you can get that is I'd definitely if you want Hollywood to make sure you visit Hollywood and Highland, Mann's Chinese Theater and El Capitan are all right there. Plus Hollywood and Highland has some shops and resteraunts. If you're deciding on Sea World or Universal Studios Hollywood. I'd say Universal Studios over Sea World just my preference. As far as the beach goes i'd definitely go to Santa Monica. Only because my fellow Bon Jovi fans and friends and I spent a day in Long Beach (the Queen Mary) and surrounding shopping area and then headed to Santa Monica. Not only is Santa Monica pier fun (there are things to see there) the beach of course then there's the 3rd Street Prominade (shops and resteraunts) but of course Santa Monica holds special place in my heart so just my personal preference. I'd definitely rent a car though. The OC and LA/Hollywood area aren't transportation friendly public wise. It's a shame really. Hope you get to go to Knott's though. One park i frequent especially for the boysenberry punch.
  17. I'm going. Just won tickets today. Add me to the list and Uberbeavis (aka Matt) to the list as well.
  18. Will see everyone tomorrow night. I won!!!! Imagine the joy when i checked my email and i was beyond thrilled to be going I don't care what other coasters are open just so i get my ride on Terminator i'll be very very happy.
  19. I am in Picture #9. My name is Rose and my screen name is bonjovimonkey. It was great to meet you.
  20. This was my first West Coast Bash and i will be back next year for sure. MM looks great overall. Haven't been back to the park in years. But now will definitely be back sooner than next years event for sure. I'm already ready to sign up yet again. Weather couldn't have been more perfect and i think scared some of the General Public away making it virtually no lines throughout the regular park hours. ERT in the morning awesome and glad we got our X2 ride in during morning ERT. Nightime ERT incredible. I think DejaVu at night in the dark is just insane. Ninja just incredibly scary. Ended our evening ERT on Golliath with a ton of back to back rides not getting off the train at all other than to switch seats. Saying 1 more ride 1 more ride. Could have stayed on for the last ride of the night but opted out. Managed to ride all the coasters but Canyon Blaster (already done that so not really sad about missing that) The freak hailstorm while eating lunch hey couldn't have come at a better time. I love absolutely love my piece of Terminator wood. Had a bad experience on Superman right before park closing and into our nighttime ERT. Apparently they did not shut down the regular line to guest and Security was trying to get the regular guests ahead of us yet it was already after 8pm to be exact. We had waited almost an hour to ride seriously and it seemed the entire crew was just goofing off and not really caring about us. We almost didn't get to ride due to Security wanting to get the rest of the regular guests on the ride before us yet we had waited almost an hour and were next to go on the next car but went anyways. Yes there were people singled out due to the lapbar not closing properly but the crew wasn't even sorry about it and those who were singled out taken off the car not a chance to go on the next ride either. Ty to TPR and everyone including MM management for one awesome day and event. I don't think i ever managed to ride as many rides as i did yesterday in one MM visit ever and almost topping most of our Disney day visits.
  21. Hubby and i started our day at Knott's but when we saw not only Ghostrider but Xcellerator and then Silver Bullet added to the list we left the park shorly after arriving in the morning. Hubby will be kinda bummed about Xcellerator not being open the whole month of March (his bday is March 8th) but glad Silver Bullet was only down for filming. We ended up at Disneyland and had a great day.
  22. I just registerd last night for myself and Uberbeavis. Can't wait.
