^You werent lying when you said SFMM was gonna see something Bizarre were you?
-
^It seems like all the family rides are miniaturized, there's no coaster there that's like Jaguar! at KBF, it goes from Canyon Blaster to Goldrusher. Goldrusher is really showing it's age, which is why they need a new, I'd say 40 foot tall kiddie coaster, hell a vekoma kiddie SC would be a good draw, and it would appeal to a pretty wide age group.

What is the best floorless?
atem122 replied to ddaver177's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I don't think Griffon and Sheikra should really count as floorless coasters, by those standards Inverts should count as floorless coasters, wing riders should count, and a 4th dimension should count -
I think a good plan for SFMM next year would be to add a gyro drop, and Wiggles World, but with a kiddie coaster. The drop tower could be marketed as a "first of its kind in cali" kind of thing and attract the older audience. If they marked Wiggles World right, it would bring in the younger crowd too, but, I think it would be smart for them to add a Roller Skater or maybe a medium sized coaster there as well. Assuming CP doesnt build something next year which they probably wont because there are no rumors or anything, that would tie SFMM for the lead again. If Knott's can say that they have ten coasters, then it's only fair that SFMM could market themselves as the largest coaster collection in the country again, adding a larger revenue stream and putting the park further back on track.

What is the best floorless?

Out of the ground breaking 2 I've been on: Medusa West: Best cause it's actually good Scream: Comes in second by default, but I hate that ride so much -
^Chang is taller and has a similar but mildly different layout. I don't think people going to sfkk are thinking: "Hmm, I guess we can just go to cp cause it has a similar ride," because a) I doubt the gp would know that they're similar b) I don't think anyone going to their local Kentucky park would instead decide to drive miles away just because the main ride at SFKK is not totally original. Honestly they can just boost the revenue by not switching train types and giving it the old fashioned x-change. Hell they can theme it to its name finally and give it an asian theme.

Nürburgring launched coaster
atem122 replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^That was a prototype though, Eejanaika was ten million less, now add that price, plus the high cost of maintenance, and you've got your reason why nobody buys 4th dimension coasters -

^^B&M coasters cost a lot of cash too, the difference? Reliability, although with the 3g trains they're getting better with it -

^^Cause 4th dimension coasters are the most reliable kind of rides out there. I mean I love x2 to death, but there's a reason why they havent made more -

^^Exactly, for all we know they could be on V 2.0 on their launch system, I'm betting they wont make the same mistakes and make something more reliable -

^People dont go to the Nurburgring for an amusement park, they go for the races, they really didnt need a high capacity ride for this since it's not a major thrill destination. Kingda Ka is at a major amusement park, and only fits ten more people per train on, how is that not a low capacity fail? -

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

^No cause it still has to somewhat stay with the theme, which is why it will be called : Apocahawk! -
Going To SFDK Tomorrow

I vaguely remember reading about them taking that out, so probably not, I didn't notice it when I went, but that doesnt mean that it's not there -
The second raven turn always gives a bit of a beating, but it's not that bad and the rest of the ride makes up for it. I have had 2 pretty bad experiences at the bottom of the first drop where it really roughed up my head. 80% of the time though, it's been as smooth as Arrow's get...although my last ride on Viper was amazingly smooth, and not just smooth for viper, I mean smooth for any coaster

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
atem122 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Followed by a week of people praising it, followed by months of people ripping on it before they ride it. Knowing Intamin though, they'll definitely make this un-rip-onable (best word ever) -
