The snow stopped falling overnight and I'll be damned if they didn't get a few more pieces of track layed today. The next ten days are currently all forecast to be clear except for Xmas day, so they have an opportunity to make up for some lost time.

I'm definitely a Laffer with the occasional "whoo!" thrown in as well. I also almost always go with hands up and on really good rides I will often clap at the end. Some folks will look at me funny when I clap, but usually I'll get a few to join in with my applause.

My knees would go like Jelly and I'd fall anyway. Hell, I've gotten the jelly legs on the Eiffel Tower at Kings Dominion a couple of times.

No effen' way I would be able to do this. However, I would LOVE to see some of the videos that would come out of this thing in Vegas!

On the 360 it looks way better then a VHS tape and probably not as good as an actual DVD. But part of that is the interlacing on an HD set, which I know you really can't do anything about in the older material without re-mastering. No big whoop. Still, for the price (free), it looks great and even for the $4 asking price of the other ones, I think they all look pretty good.

Yeah, if I'd never seen how ridiculously massive those lift hill track pieces are up close, I might think it would be shaking in the breeze, but short of a tornado or gale, I don't think this thing will budge in normal or even heavy winds. We will see soon enough, that's for sure.

Seconded. Maverick's pull out was really cool, and it usually makes me black out! I'm sure this will be very similar. My brother uses this term too on some coasters. When you say "Blackout" what do you mean? To me "Blackout" always connotated going unconscious. Same as passing out or fainting. But I get the feeing here lately that I am thinking incorrectly on this. I have never seen anyone unconscious as a train pulled back into the station.

They are not denying anything. They just aren't confirming anything. I mean come one, there's track in the parking lot. Perhaps they would have liked the scale of the project to stay secret a bit longer, but as the land clearing/Footer pouring and the amount of track being delivered started to mount, the size of the project would have become obvious. Although I'm sure, in a perfect world they would have preferred to drop the Megaton of "Giga" themselves. But enthusiast buzz is built up either way. So I'll bet they are not TOO disappointed.

I have glasses with cable earpieces or whatever they are called. Old school style like Indiana Jones that wrap around your ears. They hold the glasses tight on my head like goggles. NEVER had even a hint of a problem. I will wear a strap if the park requires it, but with the cable arms it is totally not needed. Also, if you have problem with your glasses sliding down your nose, the cable arms fix that as well. I'll never get glasses without them again!

I don't think the fact that a new Kalahari resort is coming nearby in 2010 should be discounted either. I'm sure if you've never been, you are thinking it's no big deal cause it's just an Indoor Waterpark, but I can tell you it will have a MAJOR impact and CF might do well to shore up their coaster line up at KD by then to really entice folks staying at the resort to make a day excursion to KD.

Alright then! Take a deep breath dude. This is THE INTERNET. Again, please try not to take this so seriously or somehow be offended by some people shooting the breeze on a fansite message board. Sports nerds fantasize about their team trading for players they have no chance of getting and coaster nerds fantasize about our park getting the next big thing. Let us have our fun with our delusion.

Dude, it's an Internet forum of coaster nerds trying to wish our dreams into existence. It's what the Internet is all about. Lighten up. Of course there are other things the park needs. It needs to get rid of the damn asphalt inside the park for one thing. But if Cedar Fair has an agreement for "X" number of coasters from B&M at their parks, then KD could get one in 2010, two years after Dominator. Or Maybe Dorney get's one next and KD get one in 3 or 4 years or some other CF park after that. After the failure of HXLC, Dominator really just kind of brings them back up to where they already were as far as thrill atractions go. And it's obvious from where they put Dom, that they already have plans for the more scenic land that they did not want to mess up with Dom. No one is saying it WILL happen. Just that it might and it would be cool if it did.

I am completely smitten with what I've seen of Diamondback so far. These types of coasters are my faves.

We can hope. I am sooo jealous of KI with Diamondback! I think KD has plenty of space for expansion and in fact NEEDS some sort of signature coaster. Dominator is a great ride, but that kind of coaster just does not work as a signature ride. You put a Diamondback clone in there, call it "Copperhead" or something, and you have great photo ops for years to come. The theming takes care of itself by using the wooded areas as much as possible. Also, as classic as some of the woodies are at KD, I could see them possibly getting rid of one to make some room and re-use some good wooded real estate. It's been 12 years since I rode The Grizzly and it nearly beat me to death back then. I can't imagine it's gotten any smoother. Just a thought. Regardless, if Diamondback is a big hit at KI this coming season, I'd say KD has a shot at something similar in the next few years.
