Oh so you mean Twisted Colossus will get the eventual Six Flags treatment? Aka run both sides opening season, then never run together again after a year and a half with one side sitting dormant for large amounts of time? Twisted Colossus is a single track coaster now. A möbius loop. They can't close once side of it because the train has to complete both circuits before it returns to the station. None of the three existing mobius coasters need to complete both circuits before returning to the station. The one in Mexico frequently runs only one train.

But you can't go get a Double-Double animal-style right after riding Wicked Cyclone, now, can you? Yeah...I don't blame you for hating this place. There's way too much YOLO-ness; heck, we have cities named Yolo and Weed No, but I can get a Five Guys double with bacon and hot sauce and a much less pretentious crowd if I wanted. Russian dressing on a burger, no thanks! However, when in the area I get a steamed cheeseburger from Ted's which trumps any chain.

The Great Escape (TGE) Discussion Thread
larrygator replied to Red Benny's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
And quite frankly Si Flags and The Great Escape don't care if you do that. You are spending money at Six Flags. The Great Escape just caters to a different crowd. If they ignore the 25,000 families that love the park in favor of 500 enthusiasts that live in the area, the park will not exist very long. -
If you are planning to get a Six Flags season pass, now is the time as it appears all parks have a Flash Sale going on until September 1st, but you have to process your passes by September 28th at the park you bought it. Check the details at sixflags.com for the Six Flags parks in your area, exact details vary by park. But for the parks I checked it appears they are including free entry and parking at all SF parks in this Gold Pass offer. Different parks may require a minimum number of passes per order. For example: at Great Adventure you must but at least two passes at $61.99 each. at SFNE the price for the same pass is $49.99 at SFA the price is $49.99 if you buy 4 of more passes

Thanks for mentioning, but your post is a little misleading as there is more to the promotion than you stated. Join the NFL at Six Flags Great Adventure for NFL Tweens Father and Daughter Days, a celebration of the NFL Tweens/Juniors Apparel campaign with an exclusive ride time event BEFORE the park opens, just for fans! The first 150 fathers and tween/junior daughters to arrive with valid park admission wearing licensed NFL apparel will receive an event wristband for early admittance into the park and exclusive access on select rides.* Participants will also have the opportunity to receive fun giveaways, games, and more! And don’t forget to wear your official NFL apparel available at NFLShop.com

Traditional attractions
larrygator replied to Yvetteforfun's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Chuck I'm glad you brought that up because it reminds me to say there are two different types of funhouses. Some are just big rooms with a variety of props, stunts, mirrors where the activities are not sequential in nature. I think the one at Luna Sydney is the last true example of this kind. Remember, we also did the one at the old Southport Pleasureland on the frist TPR trip. The one at Tivoli Gradens falls in this category, also. The other type are the walk throughs, where a sequence must be followed and is the style of most of the Scandi ones. In the US the following remaining ones that I know of are: Aladdins Lamp and Pirates Cove (Trimpers) Pirates Cove (Waldameer) Noah's Ark (Kennywood) FunHouse - Jenkinson's Grand Orient Funhouse - Old Orchard Beach Surf Shack - Playland Castway Cove Persian Kamel and Jungle FunHouse - York's Wild Kingdom Of course there are also portable ones on the fair circuit -

My thoughts on Tivoli Gardens are based on the TPR experience there. I think it was the first FunHouse of that trip and quite a few TPR member acted liked buffoons and I remember quite a bit of air time on the slides. But on my reflection it was more like a playground than a FunHouse, so I will amend my rankings -
Just a reminder that Great America will not be open on days when the San Francisco 49ers have home games. http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/laces-out/49ers-find-a-solution-to-their-parking-problem-at-levi-s-stadium-082514 49ers find a solution to their parking problem at Levi's Stadium Kyle Terada / USA TODAY Sports Parking spaces are hard to come by at Levi's Stadium. The 49ers have a problem with parking at new Levi's Stadium. Specifically, there aren't enough parking spaces to accommodate fans on game days. It's a big issue. But it seems the team has found at least a temporary fix to ease the crush of cars that will undoubtedly gum up the works in their hometown of Santa Clara, Calif. The 49ers have agreed to pay $12.5 million to nearby amusement park Great America to close the park on game days and use its 6,500 parking spaces, according to a story in the San Francisco Chronicle. Great America is less than a mile away from Levi's Stadium, and while there's no word as to how fans will make it from the parking lot to the stadium, the new arrangement should help traffic in the short term. Santa Clara does own the land where Great America stands, and the park does pay the city a little more than $5 million a year in rent. The city also gets a percentage whenever Great America's revenue exceeds a certain level. However, the park's parent company -- Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. -- owns the parking lot and is free to make whatever side deals it wants. And what's more, the city can't collect a dime from that. However, despite losing a day of potential revenue at the park, Santa Clara Mayor Jamie Matthews isn't worried, saying if the 49ers' money helps Cedar Fair's overall revenue enough, the city will still get its share.

Traditional attractions

Sorry, I didn't address this sooner. Here is how I rate the European FunHouses with the best on top (Last year I visited each park) Grona Lund (2009) Linnanmaki (2009) Wiener Prater (2010) Both the Calypso FunHouse and Funball Bakken (2009) Parque d'attraciones Madrid (2007) Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach (2006) VidamPark (2010) Tivoli Gardens (2009) Sarkanniemi (2009) Although I like Noah's Ark at Kennywood (it really doesn't have many traditional working stunts) and I think the one at Jenkinson's is the only one still left in the US that is similar to the European ones. -

No rush, whenever you get a chance it would be nice to read about. The only shows I caught were a Wild West comedy show, part of a Chinese acrobat show and the night time fireworks show/boat parade . For food, I remember getting amazing croquettas in the Mediterranean area. Authentic and excellent Mexican food in the Mexico area. Okay Chinese food in Polynesia. -

Is your family going to any of the shows since you are there for so long? I would love to hear your opinion's of the shows. There are so many at the park and they are rarely talked about on the forums. -
