  1. This was no longer a problem for me on my visit a week ago.
  2. I'm using a Google Pixel (original one) on Chrome. I was not able to upload multiple photos from my mobile device at once on the old forum either. The difference with the new forum is that I can select multiple photos (and then only one uploads) while the old version only let me select one at a time. It sounds like it may be my phone/browser. Usually I post reports from my desktop and that interface has never given me issues.
  3. I haven't had the chance to try it from a desktop yet, but the interface is much better from mobile than it was previously. It was much easier to add photos from mobile. The only thing I noticed so far is that it gives you the option to select multiple photos when you click "Add Files" but it would only upload one of those files. I would have to click "Add Files" multiple times to upload each photo one at a time.
  4. I went last week and Sandy's Blasting Bronco was in fact open. The ride is fantastic. It's easily the most intense backwards launch out there and all 3 Immelmanns feel wildly different. It's probably my favorite ride in the park. It also ran consistently. The only issue it had is that the turntable would lock up if the ride wasn't running non-stop (it was an empty day). When that happened, maintenance would have to reset the ride which took just a few minutes. Security was much better this time. They were still there in large quantities, but they didn't harass anyone for taking photos or being there alone. The Invader Zim bumper cars were actually relocated behind Shellraiser's banana roll. The location is really awkward as it's in the corner of the park behind the bathroom. In Invader Zim's old plot is one of those kiddie balloon towers.
  5. The park updated the ride page for Sandy's Blasting Bronco. It is no longer listed as "Coming Soon" and it isn't on the list of closed rides that was just updated. So it sounds like it's opening today. In other news, the spinning/flipping bumper cars were added to the closed list. I forgot there was a ride out there more unreliable than Lightning Rod.
  6. Fixed that for you. Yes this happened last year in HITP. Nothing was open except the SLC. Unfortunately, Governor Baker reiterated today that amusement parks will remain in phase 4 (along with bars, night clubs, and ball pits), which won't begin until there's an effective vaccine or effective treatment.
  7. I was in and out of Atlantic City in a half hour for Steel Pier. I still need to try a good cheesesteak since I've since learned Pat's and Geno's aren't the best for them. Thanks! I'm glad they've been adding more rides parents can enjoy with kids.
  8. Thanks! Unfortunately I did not. I didn't know White House Subs was a thing. I saved my appetite for boardwalk food down in Wildwood.
  9. Storybook Land Every once and a while, we do thing we aren't proud of for a coaster credit. I thought going to Storybook Land would be one of them. But I have to be honest, I loved Storybook Land! It's no Six Flags Great Adventure (or even Six Flags America), but the park oozes charm. In many ways, the park reminded me of Oregon's Enchanted Forest. The entire park is underneath a dense tree canopy, there are adorable figures all throughout the park, and there are a large number of walkthrough attractions. Sound the alarm, Disneyland's castle is no longer the smallest! Storybook Land has a confusing name for me since one of my local parks is Story Land. And there are a lot of similarities. Both parks have a Humpty Dumpty sitting atop the park logo. Such a pretty park! All the shade was very much appreciated the day I visited. If I remember correctly, it was in the 90s with max humidity. But it felt 20 degrees cooler at Storybook Land underneath all those trees. Not only that, several of the rides are built under pavilions as well for double protection. I can't decide if my favorite tilt-a-whirl is this one, the one at Belmont with ice cream, or the one at Holiday World with turkeys. It was so hot, the park was giving out free ice creams. The highlight for me was of course Bubbles the Coaster. This is one of the best kiddie coasters I've ever ridden. The ride has the same layout as Kozmo's Kurves, which is already one of the more aggressive kiddie coasters. But Bubbles needed to live up to its name so on the first drop, the ride blasts riders with bubbles. 5 out of 10 Least intimidating name ever for a dragon. If there was an award for the best kiddie coaster, this would be a contender. The park was also supposed to get a SBF Visa spinner called the Cinderella Coaster for 2020, but I saw no evidence of the ride anywhere. There was no visible land clearing nor track visible. I'm guessing the pandemic delayed this ride a year or two. At first glance this may look like an actual work zone, but this is just a cute display with an animatronic crane. Outside of Bubbles, the only other attraction I rode was the antique car ride, which was extremely well landscaped. I spent most of my time in the park admiring the walkthroughs and displays, so I'll let the pictures do the talking. Would I recommend visiting Storybook Land? If you have kids, absolutely! It's one of the best kids parks I've visited. And even though it's on the smaller side, it's still worth visiting as an adult if you appreciate good theming or want a coaster credit. Even the smaller rides are well-landscaped. I'm late, I'm late! For a very important date! Don't forget to duck your head! Is Slide to Wonderland a euphemism for LSD? The experience ends with a maze. This maze is a lot easier than the ones I used to make in Roller Coaster Tycoon. This one actually had an exit. This was the best baseball I saw all year since the Red Sox were embarassing. Goats on the roof! And just like the beloved Pigeon Forge attraction, you can crank them up some food. You know what they say about people with big shoes... Snow White's lovely home. Snow White threw a party like it was 2019. Sleeping Beauty threw a party like it was 2020. Clearly the writers of Little Red Riding Hood have never tried to put clothing on an animal. If my beagles are any indication, it doesn't end well.
  10. The Yankee Cannonball's queue line is coming along nicely!
  11. Yes. If you go read some of the reports back when they opened last winter, people were getting questioned by security if they were alone, especially if they took photos of rides. It happened to me and I think PKIJizzman, just to name two people.
  12. Based on how the most recent issues have all seemed track related, I'm guessing this will be an I-box. However, the Lightning Strikes Twice part suggests there will be some sort of marketable feature in this. Retracking the ride alone probably doesn't make it more marketable, but for me, I just want to see the ride run reliably because I think it's the best ride in the world when it does.
  13. A lot of launch coasters spray water on the motors to cool them down. Incredicoaster is one that comes to mind. That alone doesn't indicate a problem.
  14. 1) Skyrush 2) Candymonium 3) Storm Runner 4) Fahrenheit 5) Great Bear 6) Comet 7) Lightning Racer 8) Wildcat 9) Sooperdooperlooper 10) LaffTrakk 11) Wild Mouse 12) Sidewinder 13) Trailblazer 14) Cocoa Cruiser
  15. If Waldameer was open for Halloween, they could have one heck of a time with that statue!
  16. I've made myself a promise to always get Timesaver Unlimited whenever Lightning Rod is open. I think it has been open in 4 of my 8 visits, but I've managed ~60 rides on it.
  17. ^ Visibility could be a reason. If it was solely for loose articles, I wish the covering was clear and transparent.
  18. We always take pictures in front of park signs. I had seen that sign in a trip report before our trip. We even asked a worker and we could not find it. So no idea Did you visit early in the season? I have two theories. The original Ravine Flyer also crossed that road and one day it valleyed. One of the riders panicked, got out of the train, and fell onto the roadway. The netting could be to appease insurance companies if they're privy to that accident. The other is to prevent loose articles from falling onto cars. I suspect this is the more likely and logical scenario. Unfortunately, Pirate's Cove was closed in 2020 due to covid, but I really enjoyed that walkthrough back in 2017.
  19. One of the things that has always struck me with Lightning Rod is that the two spots people have mentioned as having potholes are the speed hill after the quad down and the pullout from the big drop. These are possibly two of the fastest, highest G sections of the ride. And they're also the two parts of the ride that have to cross over a roadway/the ride itself so the support structure is cutout there. Ultimately only the park and RMC knows why Lightning Rod has been closed.
  20. ^ I agree the fact this ride has a launch and the other RMCs don't makes it stand out as the root cause, but the rumored issues in 2018 and earlier this year were related to the track and not the launch. I think Lightning Rod would probably still be my favorite coaster with a traditional chain lift, so I'd be onboard with anything that keeps the rest of the ride intact and allows it to run more reliably.
  21. ^ 2017 was easy to remember since I was there that random weekend it closed in late July. I decided to omit that one since it was only a week closure compared to the other multiple week/month closures the ride has had.
  22. ^ I'm hoping the persistent security guards go all out enforcing the mask policy! Maybe that way they'll be too busy to bother me for taking a picture of Shellraiser's beautiful lighting package or sitting down alone on a bench.
  23. The legacy wait time data I have on the wait time site goes back to 2017. Link 2016 was the ride's first year and while the wait time site doesn't have the data, I found an article where Dollywood's director of public relations said the ride was down 70 of 183 days in its opening year. And that doesn't include days where it spent most the day broken. Link The data for 2017 starts on May 17. Lightning Rod was listed as closed for the day from at least May 17 until it reopened on June 16. So the ride was down for at least a month straight. When I was there the first week of June that year, I saw employees working on the lift. In 2018, Lightning Rod was listed as closed for the day from July 4 to October 10, so it was closed for almost 3 straight months including almost the entire summer. That was the year of the rumored pothole at the base of the main drop. 2019 the ride seemed to run reliably. This year, the ride seemed to run fairly well until it went down August 21-24. I saw some new wood on the final turnaround and the rumor was that it was closed for trackwork. Lightning Rod reopened on August 28 and ran for 1.5 hours total towards the start of the day. It ran pretty much all day on August 29 without any breakdowns. It ran well on August 30 outside of an hour breakdown, but on August 31 the ride went down after a rollback and hasn't reopened since. So the ride has been down for at least a month in 4 of its 5 years. This isn't even looking at the ride's uptime on the days it opened.
  24. ^ Maybe the sign wasn't there? It's to the left of the Paratrooper in front of what I believe is a bathroom.
